"The restaurant came recommended from some friends, though they hadn't tried the fondue, it didn't disappoint! Our table was already laid out for us in arrival ( you need to prebook the fondue) to start we had a meat and cheese plate to share watch out for the horseradish. There was plenty of meat, Pork,Beef and Chicken along with a large bowl of chips and salad as well as bread, we finished it off with Apple Strudel and Chocolate fondue, our waiter was excellent and attentive.Getting there, any taxi will know where to take you, or you walk up the Spielberg weg about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the top of the pedestrianised road in town. You will need 9 Euro cash per person to pay the Pisten Bully driver. For the way down, ski trousers are recommended if you are going to toboggan, you can get the Pisten Bully down if there are number of other people doing the same or get on the back of a skidoo, I would recommend mentioning when making a reservation that you don't want to toboggan down."

Stopped for lunch on a long walk, great food and quick friendly service. It was busy with a nice atmosphere a mix of walkers and mountain bikers.

A welcoming refreshment stop in the mountains. Service very friendly and while always busy a really great place for lunch. The Radler and beers are good too! Visit almost every year - recommended. Visualizza piatti

First being picked ut på a snow cat and transported to this wonderful place was a thrill. Then the service and food was very good. In the end we went tobogganing down to Saalbach on the lit slope. FANTASTIC FUN!

We had a really enjoyable evening at Spielberghaus for dinner. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Wines and drinks were of sufficient variety. The only problem is that you are required to complete your meal in under two hours as you are shuttled up and down the mountain and need to make space for the next guests.

We visited Spielberghaus with a Swedish tour. The food: spareribs and roasted potatoes with two different sauces tasted good. However, it would have been nice with som vegetables e.g. a sallad with tomatoes with the food. We had the classical Apfelstrudeln as dessert. There were many groups with noicy and drunk people. We game early and left efter about 1,5 hour. Visualizza piatti

Food is very good but it is the overall experience that makes the difference - being picked up by a snowplow and taken a few kilometers up the mountain, eating very good food, playing "nagel" and then bobsledding back down the very same route you came up from is truly priceless! We come here every year we are in Saalbach and it never disappoints! A must go-to when in the area!

We attended Spielberhaus with a group arranged by Skiskhule Saalbach. Walk to the outskirts of the town to meet the restaurant’s piste bashes which whisks you up the mountain. This is an experience in itself. Travelling in the open top piste bashes in swirling snowfall is not for whomps but we loved it. Arrived at the hotel cloaked in a winter wonderland to be welcomed into the warm and inviting building. Ribs, potato wedges and salad washed down with beer or wine was top notch and very filling. Desert was not required but we did manage squeeze in a schnapps or two. Staff did well to serve a large group efficiently. Well done. After our dinner we took the toboggans back down to the town. "Stayed in the hotel here after booking a holiday through SunWeb. Location Excellent! Right in the centre of the town. All 3 lifts are close, so can easily access all the different ski areas. I would say the best located hotel in Saalbach. Wifi Doesn 't work. Rooms Basic but unbelievably clean, not a spot of dust! Beds and towels changed daily. Good amount of coathangers in the wardrobe. No kettle. Bathroom Small but useable, hot water for about 10 minutes then flicks between hot and cold. Balcony Shared. Views Cracking! Can see the piste from room 11. Breakfast Pretty poor. Ham, cheese and bread, 3 different cereal choices. Yoghurt (all seem to be blueberry flavoured). This didn 't change for the week so by day 7 we were pretty fed up of it. The staff (I think owners) made themselves fresh bacon and eggs daily and sat in the restaurant eating it while we 're eating the cold ham and cheese sandwich, kind of felt wrong. Check in the hotel was called Pension Schattbergstube on SunWeb, the transfer dropped us outside this restaurant and it really wasn 't clear if it was a hotel, I tried ask the man behind the bar but he didn 't speak any english. Luckily one of the waitresses did, she advised that it is the right place and housekeeping would show us to our room. Housekeeping didn 't speak any english either, no indication where to store the skis, what time breakfast was, anything. For the whole stay we were unable to comunicate with staff, I understand that it shouldn 't be expected for people to speak English, but there was no attempt to communicate Everywhere I have stayed previously we have at least used charades to try and make it through. I would stay at this hotel again for the location, not for anything else."
