"Was on a day trip to Belfast and fancied a local cafe instead of the usual chain and after wandering for a bit came upon Strikes cafe. Menu looked good so went in and ordered the chicken kiev. Food was great, really tasty and a big portion. The old waitress serving us however was quite rude and dismissive. She seemed nice with other guests, maybe because we weren't locals? The younger waitress was nice who we paid our bill too but the old one needs to improve on her manners and customer service skills. Very bad service which was a shame as the cafe food was great and the place had lots of character."

We visited for breakfast, it was cheap and I got food poisoning. The cheap decor and cheap food summarized why to avoid this place. Smokers at the front make the whole place reek of smoke.

I have been here for a few times with my dad and his fiancée and the food has always been on top form and the staff have always been helpful and friendly! A wee gem in the city of Belfast!

Each time my wife and I eat in Strikes, we thoroughly enjoy the eating experience: good wholesome food; served hot, and most reasonably priced. Good space at small tables for enjoying tasty, well cooked food. I recommend Strikes to all hungry tourists to Belfast City Centre.

The staff at this restaurant were extremely rude! I wanted to leave as soon as possible because when I inquired about my food, the waitress was disrespectful and later started loudly gossiping about me with other staff members. It was a very embarrassing and unpleasant experience. Visualizza piatti

My wife and I visited Strikes on our recent short break visit to Belfast. Having arrived early in Belfast we decided to have breakfast here. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. There were lots of local people eating in the cafe which is always a good indicator. Well worth a visit.

Visiting Belfast for the day and stopped here for lunch. Lovely wee cafe and food is good old fashioned home cooked grub! I had a roast chicken dinner which was outstanding, couldn’t eat it all as it was just too much, however hubs helped with the rest!! Will definitely visit again next we’re there.

I stopped here for a quick lunch after a city bus tour and was not disappointed. I had the roasted chicken dinner and my wife had a panini, both were tasty and good quality. I docked a star because the sodas are too expensive. We ordered two cokes that came in very small glasses and when I received the bill I realized they were 1.75 each. Too much. I would return. We turned up at lunchtime on spec looking for a table for 3. We were swiftly shown to a table and the order taken. Three Ulster Fries with tea duly appeared with no fuss. Chips or extra potato bread sealed the deal. The food was simple but good. The waitresses were efficient, lovely and treated everyone as old friends. Northing was too much trouble. This place is a hidden Belfast gem!

It was a really cold, wet day and we wanted something warm but light for lunch. There was a soup and sandwich deal which liked good. We ordered soup and asked what the sandwich would be. Chicken or ham. I asked if I could have cheese (and did). The sandwiches were horrible. Nasty white sliced bread (I would never buy that at home) and synthetic margarine. The staff weren't that friendly either. The main meals looked okay. Limited selection but good value for money but our lunch certainly was not.

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
