Came here for brunch on my sisters birthday, food was so delicious and the staff were lovely! We were served by David and he was really friendly, we’ve been here a few times now and it’s been great every time

We were served by Anya and David, both were very friendly and welcoming. We have always loved the Tavern but since the refurb it feels refreshed (in every sense of the word, vibes included) Food was incredible as always.

When a family favourite goes through a refurbishment it’s can be a gamble whether it has improved as a result. This is especially worrying when the restaurant has changed owners at the same time. I went to this restaurant this morning for breakfast. The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, the food was not good. The bacon was tough like cardboard, the black pudding was disgusting, and the sausage was just okay. I was disappointed and won't be returning, as there are much better options with generous portions at a better price. It's a shame because this restaurant used to be one of the best, but it seems like the new owners are not living up to the previous owners' reputation.

We had a lovely meal tonight at Tavern which had not been for many years. for starter we had king prawn and calamari which were superb. my main course was sea bass which I enjoyed very much, and my wife who had burritos was very pleased with her main. the services was great and I like to mention Catherine and Martin who served us and made our experience nicer with good service and friendly attitude. The only thing we didnt enjoy and I would not recommend was the churros with chocolate dessert.

I’ve been a regular at the Tavern for 30 years but not had food as good as I had tonight. Although it was a quiet Sunday dinner the staff greeted us warmly, gave us time to choose our drinks and food. The music playing added to a lovely atmosphere. The food, nacho starters and ribs, a burger, burrito and chilli bowl were well presented, plentiful and really tasty. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, however there was a significant wait for our food despite the fact that the restaurant was only half full. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals once they arrived. Unfortunately, the ladies' toilets were in poor condition and did not appear to have been cleaned recently. I had to request for the toilets to be cleaned, bins to be emptied, and for hand soap to be provided. We had to borrow hand soap from the men's restroom because they had run out. The waitress who cleaned the bathroom was very kind and apologetic, so the blame lies with the management for neglecting the upkeep of the facilities.

I've been a customer of The Tavern since the very beginning over 20 years. It used to be amazing but unfortunately the food standards and attitude from the staff has severely declined. Despite a poor food hygiene rating recently we decided to give it another go. Absolutely disgusting food and a horrible attitude from the staff when complaining. It seems they recruit the cheapest staff they can get these days. I can see this place going out of business which is a shame because we have a lot of great family memories dining here. Please recruit some decent chefs and managers because it's been a fixture of Penny Lane for so long it'd be a sad day when it eventually closes.

We decided to try out the tavern since our usual local restaurant was closed. And we were pleasantly surprised! Our server, Cathy, provided excellent customer service. She promptly took our drink orders and recommended the pina colada, which I really enjoyed. Cathy gave us time to decide on our food options and was very attentive to our needs. She even suggested some sides for us to try. When our food arrived, I was amazed by the generous portions - I had to take some home for a second meal. Although Cathy offered us more drinks and dessert, we were too full to indulge. Cathy's exceptional customer service was a breath of fresh air and we will definitely be returning customers.
