"My wife and I stopped for dinner at Tempio after spending the day exploring Pompeii. We were told outside that we could do a wine-tasting in the restaurant. Since we were the only customers at the time (5pm is too early for dinner by Italian...standards), we were given a private tasting on the balcony. A very knowledgeable and friendly lady named Carmela told us a lot about the wines from her winery, Sorrentino, and let us sample everything she had available. She also brought us our meal when it was ready (even though she didn 't actually work for the restaurant), and informed us that we could take a tour of the Sorrentino winery if we wanted to come back the next day (we didn 't have time, but we plan on going next time we visit). She was very helpful, and the wines were amazing! As for the food, we split a plate of Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was delicious (the best meal we had on our entire trip). The setting was beautiful, and we ended up missing a couple of trains because we were having such a good time. My wife said it made her feel like she was in Eat, Pray, Love ! There are a lot of restaurants/vendors that line the path between the Pompeii excavation site and the train station, and they all seemed over-priced and geared towards tourists... Tempio Ristorante was out-of-the-way, not too busy, and seemed more like kind of authentic Italian restaurant that we went to Italy to enjoy!"

We waited for our Pompeii tour in this restaurant. They had their buffalo mozzarella curing uncovered right in front of the entrance to the bathroom. We chose not to eat there because that was just gross!

Says it all really. €3.20 for a bottle of Fanta? Crazy. But the doughnuts are tasty, and it is very clean. It's a shame they don't open the roof terrace which would provide a view over the city whilst having lunch.

La guida ha consigliato questo posto al primo piano. Avevano un menu fisso per soli 10 euro, lasagne, insalata e una bevanda, era eccellente. Abbiamo anche assaggiato la pasta ai frutti di mare, che era deliziosa allo stesso costo. Molto consigliato e molto cordiale.

Siamo stati felici di avere questo ristorante vicino a Pompei, abbiamo mangiato una lasagna e una carbonara (la lasagna era fantastica). Il menù è limitato: Lasagna/Pizza veg soft drink costa 10 euro. Siamo rimasti un po' delusi dai dolci, erano un po' troppo cari per la qualità.

The place is a good option for a lunch before or after a visit to the Ancient Pompeii, since it is only 100 m. away from the west entrance. The food is simple, but tasty. We had gnocchi and lasagna and they were both good....Service was helpful and friendly. Prices were reasonable (especial considering the proximity of Pompeii and that there is not much competition around).

After completing the Pompeii and Vesuvius tours we were ready for some food. The restaurant is located up the small stairs immediately to the left of the Pompeii railway station exit. Very friendly service, good menu selection and top quality food. We had a three...course meal (for two) decent portions; drinks and coffee to finish all for 50 euros. This is a must visit if you're hungry and like home cooked Italian food.

Since this place is right outside the Pompeii ruins and situated at the Circumvesuvia train station, I really wasn't expecting much. However, we sat out on the outdoor patio and were served with attention and good humor. We speak no Italian and our server spoke...very, very little English but whatever language barrier there was...evaporated quickly. I had the spaghetti with capers and black olives and I devoured it. Excellent. My wife enjoyed her caprese panini. Very pleasant surprise.

La stazione dell'outpost degli scavi della Circumvesuviana è una serie di ristoranti orientati ai turisti che sono in visita alle rovine di Pompei o sono arrivati al Vesuvio. Nascosto nella stazione ferroviaria, in cima a una vista non invitante, si trova questo perfetto piccolo ristorante. Quando siamo andati a pranzare, c'erano più locali e italiani che mangiavano lì, rispetto ai turisti - ora c'è una conferma. Per 10 euro abbiamo mangiato lasagne, birra e verdure alla griglia, il tutto presentato in modo impeccabile e assolutamente delizioso. (Si noti che in questa regione c'è una variazione sulle lasagne, la salsiccia/prosciutto e una salsa a base di ricotta che non contiene besciamella)...
