"The main was unfortunately very average. The desserts saved it, but you would expect more from prices at the £16.00 to £20.00 range than a tough steak, an insipid bland, pasta dish and a £6 salad which was a pile of unimaginative leaves. A decent level of care and love wasn't on show on a not too busy Friday lunch. Nice place to sit though. But I'm not going to be bringing large tables of family back here like I used to. After a days cycling on the South Downs we were greeted with a warm welcome where nothing was a problem. The pub had an amazing atmosphere, it was buzzing !
