Nice little Pub with friendly, helpful staff. Not part of a chain, good food.

Was in the area for a competition and called in for dinner, was excellent food and good value.

Was riding the king Alfred’s way and found myself staying at the campsite and headed here for dinner. Super friendly staff and the food was exactly what I needed, I’m a bit of a lump and I struggled to finish the chicken burger it was huge! So tasty and also I had the best garlic bread I’ve ever had.

Went in for dinner, menu wasn't great, so we opted for cheesy chips, bar was empty and smelt, so sat outside, wait was around 40 mins, beer garden is on a slope and tables a little rickety. Cheesy chips were plentiful and warm, not very tasty though. Sorry to give such a poor review, but it's a nice looking pub and should do better. Visualizza piatti

We had the most delicious Cajun chicken burrito on a lunchtime visit. The pub's lovely with friendly staff but suffering as so many are from a lack of customers. So sad. We sat in the pub garden in the sunshine so atmosphere was not a problem. The home made lasagna was equally delicious according to my wife. I hope the sunshine brings out more diners. I'm sure they'll be well pleased.

A diabolical pub. I was the only customer in a freezing cold pub, apart from the landlord. Most draught beers unavailable. Did he dispense bonhomie to me? Did he hell, just carried on playing with his Rubik’s cube, and didn’t notice I’d even gone. I think the owners deliberately running into the ground. They just want the real estate that lies under it, sad to see. Expect to see a luxury house on here in the very near future.

Booked well in advance but table was not set up when we arrived. Had to wait while our table was assembled. Other people had to be moved so that it could be set up. No apology or explanation given. Food took a while to come but was ok, except served on cold plates and the sides arrived after the meal had been finished! Place a bit tired and had to ask lights to be put on in ladies, again no apology! Lots of locals, very noisy and clearly not enough staff. Disappointed as picked location for family coming from Reading and Basingstoke. Staff not particularly friendly and no thanks or good bye as we left. Quite uncomfortable experience.
