"Won’t be rushing back! Beautiful setting, but overall disappointing! Manager(? very abrupt and not very welcoming….. talked down a lot to the bar staff making uncomfortable atmosphere….. dogs welcome, but NOT dog friendly, kept telling our small well behaved dog to stay under the table, no offer of water bowl! Very rowdy customers at bar using bad language and speaking on speaker phone, no respect or told by management to tone it down! Food was ok, nothing fancy in choice or presentation ……. All specials/dessert boards empty resulting in asking the young chap what was on offer when clearing our table and the Manager ‘overhearing’ and shouting choices from behind bar! Customers were struggling to get to the bar to order as separate ordering space was unmanned! Won’t to back!"

The pub is very welcoming with excellent prices and friendly staff. When we arrived soaked, their first concern was finding a place for us to dry our coats. We definitely plan on returning.

Lovely little pub. The view next to the canal is a big attraction. Food is a good standard, nothing mind-blowing and quick and easy. Food prices are good. Excellent for a chilled stop off for lunch or some hearty food.

The restaurant used to be a fantastic pub in a wonderful location by the canal. However, it has now become run-down and tired. When I visited on a Saturday afternoon, there were very few people there and the bar staff seemed clueless.

Called for much after a walk down the canal my son is autistic and only eats chicken nuggets the did him a larger portion as he’s an adult The sun was shining so we sat outside The staff were really kind and helpful will defiantly call again

I had scampi and chips and the hubby had 3 large fish fingers chips and beans.The food was hot, presented nice and tasted good,the staff was friendly and they also welcome dogs if your a dog owner. Right on the canal where you can feed the ducks afterwards.

There was a minimalist menu but when visiting we did not order as the tables set aside for eating were that dirty my arm was sticking to the table. I spoke to kitchen staff who seamed very nonchalant and unkempt which helped with our decision not to eat there.

Called in and ordered a drink and couldn’t wait to get out. The place smells like it’s not been cleaned since the 1980’s. The ladies toilets had loose seats in every cubicle and no toilet roll (although one cubicle had 3 empty rolls! The manager should be ashamed of themselves. The drinks were more expensive than most places too just to add insult to injury.

We visited this pub just after lockdown a lovely pub with great atmosphere and good food. What a change a couple of years make, no one in there apart from a family with young children who were all playing with phones at full volume with different things playing on each, the language from their parents and bar staff had a lot to be desired. We were hoping for a nice meal, we had one drink and left and won't be returning
