"First child free evening for a long time so decided to head to the Capital as the meals previously have been fantastic. As it was the “eat out to help out”, we booked a table for 7:30 knowing it was likely to be busy. We arrived at 7:25 to be advised there would be a 5-10 minute wait and we could either wait inside or outside. Due to the busyness of the restaurant, and to allow for social distancing, we chose to wait outside. Big mistake. The 3 groups that arrived after us were seated before us even though some were the same size party. After 40 minutes we were eventually seated and drinks ordered. A further 10 minutes passed while people who had tables booked at 8pm were receiving their drinks and starters, and we were still waiting to order. We spoke to one of the staff and were told that our orders would be “pushed up the list”. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we were still without starters or even poppadoms and no acknowledgement from any of the staff so we walked out. The first time ever we have left a restaurant this way. I appreciate these are new and challenging times but their procedures for seating and ordering need seriously looking at."

this is a really nice restaurant, it is very intelligent and comfortable in the interior and eating is from a very high standard. the staff is really friendly and helpful as an earlier review said they just have to say they are vegan and they will deliver.

my benchmark curry is the madness. these are the men from the young, here at the capital you will get a very extraordinary madras. as soon as they go in them, they only have to open their nasen holes to know they are at a good place. my new visit to a cure house in durham, the land of the furthest bischöfe.

visited this restaurant at some places. menu is mostly meat-based, but the predominant majority of vegetarian dishes are suitable for vegans as they do not contain milk. delicious vegan curries, specially adapted for the nutritional requirements of customers. the workers come to talk to them to find out what is / is not suitable for their nutrition so that they can cook their food exactly on their request. would recommend the sweet balti, the sweet bahar and the aloo gobi.

Where do I start ! Keema naan bread had very little meat in so they bought me another one. The Madras was Watery and tasteless. The head waiter did take the 2 meals back to the kitchen to try and sort the dish out but it was still the worst madras I had tasted. We were told by the waiter that they had the same Chef for over 20 years and that they madras was in his own words runny ? We asked for the bill and left the full meal. We weren’t even offed any discount. Disgraceful.

Service was excellent. Drinks order was taken straight away, we pondered over starters and the waiter doesn't mind leaving us to think for a while. The food turned up in a reasonable time and was very tasty. We had finished and paid and just about to leave when we were very politely asked to leave the table as they needed it for another party. They offered us a drink on the house, since they asked us to leave which they didnt have to, but was appreciated. The staff were all very friendly. I would definitely come again. Thanks.

Had an overnight stay in Durham and booked the capital for dinner. Our seat was ready as soon as we went in, service was quick and we had both our starters and mains within the hour. Food was of high standard and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend. We had vegetable samosas and chicken tikka paneer to start. For mains we had chicken tikka madras (which wasn’t overly spicy) and chicken tikka Rogan which seemed very tomato based. Dispite saving £20 on the eat out to help out scheme. All dishes were lovely and of great portion size.

We were in Durham just overnight but were recommended this restaurant,we were quite early 5.30ish,the staff were not really welcoming at all we did wonder whether they were going to let us in as we hadn’t a reservation but they showed us to a table,we ordered drinks poppadoms just a Tandoori main course as we are not big eaters no complaints about the food but their attitude put us off,the staff seemed more attentive to most of the other diners maybe it’s because we weren’t regulars we received the cold treatment,I shouldn’t think we were in there an hour we didn’t get a goodbye or thankyou.

Myself and my wife called for a meal one January evening it was around half full so we had no problem getting a table we were attended to promptly by Very friendly staff we ordered drinks and our food we also ordered popadoms, which unfortunately did not arrive. As our meal came fairly quickly I didn’t mention it. We ate the meal which was hot well cooked and very tasty we both had variations of lamb which was so tender once we finished we asked for the bill which unfortunately still had the popadoms listed I asked to have them to be taken off the bill which they were. All in all we had a good evening and will be returning soon.

We booked for a meal here as we were in the area for a few days and it seemed like a good idea given that the eat out to help out was making everywhere very busy. We arrived on time but seating was delayed as they were full and we were asked to wait. People turned up behind us and decided not to wait but to go to the bar and order a drink. They were then seated before us. Not a massive problem, but not very polite on the part of the staff. Food was ok. Table service was ok. Nothing particularly special. Social distancing Isn't high up on this resturants priority list, and although we booked and left a phone number they didnt ask who we were on arrival, so not sure if the Track and Trace syst...

"started really well and went to the counter and ordered a cream with bananas and nutella and especially gave no earthberries I also asked after a san pelegríno still water as this was on the menu. I was the first person to order and the last to eat at the end. I brought my water over which was a cheaper brand water I just had £2 for what I would like to have seen? we will, when asked for san pelligrino to say water that they do not in. Finally my crepe and I take a bite and understand that it is earthly on the whole species and wise by which I am allergic. one of my family members takes it back and says that I have asked for bananas, there is no earthly reason why I cannot eat it and did not want it on my crepe. then 5 minutes later another crêpe comes out, who was my bite crêpe, that someone had put the earthy and banan in the bananas. disgusting ... not sure whether this was a mistake or just stingy either as it did not. it is then returned because there is no way I eat, and it is explained again, there is a reason that I can not eat strawberries, to which then one of the owners passes to serve the right crepe and apology. I really hope that today a lection has been learned because cross-contamination is not a sweat. please be careful when they eat there. I didn't get any refunds offered, but then they were ready to serve me a bite crawl, so it didn't surprise me so much."
