"I’m writing this review within the same evening as the ``event``, as I want to make sure that all relevant facts are ``fresh in mind`` and conveyed properly.I’ve been to the Cross of St George (Paris, rue St-Georges, 9e arr.) on several occasions and I would say that my experiences have been good until this evening.May 29th 2017, 18h30, walking in after a hard days’ work, with a craving for a tall cold pint and a hunger for a cheese burger. Upon my entry familiar faces … the waiter and waitress that are friendly and professional. I order my burger with the expressed and repeated feature of well-done beef patty. I explicitly heard the waitress give my order to the cooks as I was only a meter or so away. While said burger is being prepared the young waiter proposes a new ``brew`` which I partake in, and by golly, the young lad has made a great suggestion again !The burger and fries are served at my table. As I’m removing the unwanted salad and tomato (yes I did also indicate that request to the waitress, and she did pass it along to the cooks), I had an inclination to cut through the patty to see if it was actually well-done. By all means it wasn’t rare and red through-and-through, but there was enough ``deep pink`` to warrant a refusal. No harm done, I simply asked to return the burger and give it a couple more minutes on the grill. What happened next leaves me without words. When the waiter and waitress asked the cooks to ``rework`` the burger, they (the cooks) both stared me down, on more than 3 occasions, within a minute or so. Now I never done this before, but at one point I actually walked up to the bar and through the opening in the wall I asked to one of the cooks if there was a problem. He responded ``no``, but with a smile that I would qualify as ``sincerely`` arrogant. While business is good this complaint can certainly go unnoticed. But then again, bars and pubs are passing fads unless you maintain the utmost professionalism with your customers. My apologies for saying this, but the two cooks I’m pointing out are far from that, and those are the type of employees that drag down quality which ultimately hurts the owners of these establishments."
