"We was stopping at the Rookery B B and the Crows Nest was conveniently over the road. We decided to stop for a drink on our first night and then decide where we would eat in the town. On ordering our drinks we noticed they had a menu and decided it looked delicious so we stayed. I can honestly say the food was amazing. Our husbands had the chicken curry which came with onion bhaji's, rice and poppadoms. My friend had the prawn salad. I have never seen so many prawns and she couldn't eat them all. I had the nachos and chilli. Just wow! It was not only tasty but so filling. I can eat for England and really struggled to finish it all. I didn't want it to end so ended up feeling uncomfortably stuffed. The staff were very friendly and so welcoming. I would definitely recommend you visit this place"

Last minute booking, accommodated with a smile. Limited menu but what was available went down well with all. Friendly service and family friendly environment.

We've used the Crows Nest a few times over the years and choose it as some of the town centre pubs can be a bit abrasive and full of demanding tourists. This is an honest down to earth pub, a bit scuffed and knocked on...

We ate here for Sunday Roast a few years ago, and remembered it being a lovely meal and a freindly pub. Today we returned and to our delight were not disappointed. Fab food with plenty of tasty veg and gravy. Thank you so much

We arrived mid way through the Women’s Euro final, it was really busy but we were still made to feel welcome. We went again the next night to have food, it was quieter, we found a table and someone came and took our drinks and...

Went for an evening meal. Had a drink on arrival, served by a rude, none communicative man who couldn't even tell us how much drinks were before shoving the card machine at us. Had to ask how much. Sat down with menu, decided on meal...

Excellent food well worth a visit! We enjoyed the variety on the new summer menu, the quality of the ingredients and the presentation was honestly perfect. We could not have asked for any more; a friendly welcome and great service thank you! We will be back!

Good traditional pub food done well and excellent value! We ordered steak and ale pie and the scampi and chips. The food was hot and tasty, friendly service, we asked for more tartar sauce which arrived promptly. Great choice of draught beer, lager and cider.

The pub menu tonight was excellent. There was a great variety of food to choose from, all of good quality and served in generous portions. The lady behind the bar was extremely helpful and focused on providing great customer service. The pint of lager was beautifully poured and tasted fantastic. Overall, this restaurant offers good value, a pleasant atmosphere, and is a standout in Swanage. I highly recommend it.

Went for a Sunday lunch with my family and friends. 3 of us ordered large roasts 1 beef and 3 nutroast and 2 ordered cheese burgers. Well our food came out . I wasn't happy with my roast . Paying nearly £15 for what, Tin baby carrots and half a plate of peas . Old roast potatoes. Where they are grey inside . The beef was tough and like door stops . No roast parnips . No fresh veg . Just cheap and reheats . Nutroast had rice in. My brother in law found mould on this burger bun after eating half of it

"We had the best time here on Saturday lunch. We arrived early to a quiet restaurant and were greeted by super friendly and well informed staff, who made us feel at ease and explained their new ‘small plates’ menu. Our kids were given a nice menu with colouring in and nothing seemed too much to ask for. We decided to let our 4 and 6 year old order from their kids menu and hoped they would try some of our dishes too. The menu really is very appealing, so much so that the 3 adults ended up ordering EVERY dish they had on the menu in the end! I think it was 16 various dishes of meats, fish, veggies and pasta’s. All homemade and with a really modern vibe. Our waitress was soo good at making us feel at ease we had the best time. A few dishes were ordered and came out really fast we were overjoyed at how beautiful they looked, and the flavours we so well balanced and punchy we got really giddy and decided to order all of the other dishes and just share them all out. Have to say each dish was a triumph, my favourite was the pork ‘burnt ends’ with sweet and sour carrots and a mustard sauce, my partners was the pointed cabbage dish with sesame, my mothers the beetroot and goats cheese crispy ball. They all were delicious, and our kids tried loads of new things like a crab pasta and a cheesey focaccia. It seems like they really thought these little dishes out soo well, temperatures, textures, colours, flavours, elegance we’ve not had anything like this outside of London. So, 16 plates in, plus the kids had their main course… we were all full up, felt like we’d been on a culinary adventure. And then we were offered something sweet okay maybe we were just being greedy, maybe we just couldn’t resist not trying more?! The kids had a ‘build your own dessert’ of ice cream and sauces and sprinkles and cake bits looked great but sadly only for kids! We had their ‘sweet things’, kind of like large petit fours. Chocolatey cake balls, salted caramel truffles and tart passion fruit jellies all were amazing! By the time we left, the restaurant was really busy and I can see why we will most certainly be coming again! Thank you!"
