"1. Positives, accomadated us re last minute booking,as we were on a tight time schedule . Lovely place ran very efficiently with friendly staff. Had Sunday roast, potatoes veg were lovely. 2. Negatives, the meat on both meals was very disappointing, it appears to all be pre carved reheated for serving, the beef looked like a burnt piece of cardboard, turkey was dried out, pork was more like a couple of slices of bacon. There was no stuffing with the pork dinner only a coin sized piece with the turkey. Whilst I appreciate all the hard work that goes into accommodating people, the meat was a real let down."

"The Crown Inn has recently relaunched as a Cafe, as well as a pub. The decor is lovely, they have managed to keep it as a ‘good old pub’ whilst creating a relaxing cafe space at the same time. We ate outside, which was no problem (we were seated inside and changed our minds and sat outside next to a children’s play area. Today I sampled the cooked breakfast, as did my son and my husband had the Crown full English (big! whilst they did some chips for my toddlers. The breakfast was honestly the best full English I’ve had in a long time. It was nice to have one that wasn’t cheap meat etc. The bacon was nice and thick, the sausages were lovely (I will be asking where they get them from! and the eggs were so tasty and fresh. Bread that came with it was yummy too. What I liked the most was that it wasn’t really greasy like a lot of fry ups can be. Now, besides the food being delicious, the service was great too. We felt very welcome (with twin toddlers we don’t always feel like we can relax and enjoy and on that basis alone we would return. The pub is spotless (including toilets and is clearly well looked after. The decor has lots of personal touches, which is perhaps how they managed to balance the pub and cafe look! My only issue is I want to try 5 different things on the menu! Great jobs guys, thank you!"

"We were at the Boat last night, in a group of 20+. I had the boat burger and it was perfectly cooked, slightly pink in the middle. Everyone said they enjoyed their meals. Was impressed with the consistency, despite it being such a large group. Great service, friendly and attentive staff. Thank you so much for a lovely evening! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"A pub which reminds me of canalside dining when I first did it 32 years ago. Boaters and locals happily chatting together, charming and pleasant staff, nothing fancy food or drinkwise, just traditional pub food and drink, but what they do is done really well. We had a home made Lasagne with a surprisingly lovely side salad (often it is literally just for appearances, but this had lots of tasty and crunchy ingredients in a glorious sweet dressing) and gooey cheese topped garlic bread. Amongst other things we had a normal chilli and a vegetarian chilli, both were delicious an enormous rack of ribs and Biscoff cheesecake which put a big smile on my face!!! Bill was smaller than I expected. I wouldn't hesitate to go back."
