"Excellent venue sought out following Good Food Guide recommendation. Food was lovely, and with a nice day sitting outside is extremely nice with a good view out onto the sea. The menu isn't too extravagant which is a good thing and makes sense to go for fish options. My only slight issue is when sitting outside people often walk up through the seating area thinking its public toilets and one visit the service was good but a bit on the slow side but otherwise no complaints."

We called out. out of season and early for lunch and were made welcome. Our food was freshly cooked and and well presented and very tasty. Meals are served both inside and on the veranda which gave an excellent excellent views over the promenade. Costs were reasonable.

Lovely location looking out onto the sea. We had five roasts, each of us trying a different option and all were substantial and delicious. The desserts were also outstanding. Great drinks menu, including soft drinks, which makes a pleasant change for the non-drinkers. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere.

They always appreciate the view and atmosphere at the Fig Tree, and their visit on this sunny Sunday was no exception. The lovely view of the canal paired with a well-prepared vegetarian bratwurst made for a delightful experience. With three vegetarian options—the nut and tofu skewer, along with several other dishes—we had plenty to choose from. All the food was of high quality and offered great value.
