"We visited The Wheelhouse early one morning and were pleased to find that it was open before most other cafes in the area. We felt very welcome and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with tea served in a pot. We regret not having enough room to try their tempting cakes and scones. If you're in Minehead, make sure to stop by The Wheelhouse for a satisfying break. You won't be disappointed."

"We dropped in after a visit to the castle. The owner was their and we had a lovely chat. She bakes everything on the the premises. We had the apple crumble and a delicious slice. Our cappuccinos were perfect (and hot). The decor suits the space perfectly; curved farmhouse chairs and wooden tables. We would recommend the castle Coffee House to anyone visiting Dunster. "Located in a charming Medieval village, Hathaways is a small intimate restaurant that is a hidden gem. Sandro is in the kitchen cooking while Kasia takes care of the front of the house, making it a cozy and personalized dining experience. Despite not having visited in 5 years, we were pleased to see that they had managed to weather the lockdown and still maintained their high standards. The food was once again beautifully cooked and creatively presented. With only 4 or 5 tables available and open for dinner only on weekdays, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance."

"Formerly known as BORN APPETIT, this restaurant is one of the most well-managed, cleanest, and friendliest places we have visited in a long time! It is definitely worth a visit. The staff and atmosphere were delightful, the decor was fun and interesting with an eclectic mix. The restaurant is child and dog friendly, with welcoming and attentive staff. We enjoyed cream teas followed by a gin tasting, which was a unique and enjoyable experience. The restaurant also has a small gift shop where you can taste locally sourced gin and rum. The food prices were the best in the village and we witnessed freshly cooked meals being served to visitors who ordered specials of the day. There are plenty of eating options in this small village, but we are glad we read TripAdvisor reviews and found this gem. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it."

"We were left quite disappointed with our meals here. I had spaghetti bolognese which was OK but I 've made tastier ones myself at home. My husband had chicken and mushroom in a cream sauce. He said that his was also only OK and the 'sauce ' that was swimming around in the bottom of his bowl was more like a thin soup than a sauce. I also had a side of garlic bread which was the oddest I 'd ever had. It didn 't taste of garlic at all,was very greasy and burnt on the bottom. I saw some garlic bread going to the table next door and that was so over cooked that it was black on the top. Not somewhere we 'd recommend."
