"The Griffin Inn (Yoxford) Whilst trying to find a place to rest my head for the night I was searching on Trip Advisor and came across this one with mostly positive reviews and the odd moan about noise. Well what can I say the owner Miranda and her staff could not have been more welcoming. Due to the crazy weather snow we were having at the time the pub was dead quiet but none the less the character friendliness of the owner staff was as positive as anything! Staying away always makes me nervous in new places due to the fact that I am have Coeliac Disease so have to be VERY careful with food but Miranda could not have been more helpful with this too this put my mind at ease! I have a gorgeous Gluten Free pie with mash, veg and gluten free gravy for dinner and no space for pudding I love my puddings! That’s how filling it was. In the morning I had a Bacon, Beans, Mushrooms my gluten free bread and it was all lovely really set me up for the day! I stayed in bedroom no. 3 which faces the front of the Inn love the feature beams in the room. It had all the creature comforts you need like tea/coffee facilities, a small tv, wardrobe and chest of drawers but be careful going into the bathroom as there is a step up to it and I even have to duck and I’m 5’6. Shower had great pressure and loads of lovely hot water! I slept like a log so the bed must have been comfortable! I’ll definitely be staying again when I am back in the area with work"

Well what a great place. The land ladies are still continuing to up grade and improve this establishment. Good food well kept beer and attractive accommodation. A very traditional Pub, not many left. Freindly and welcoming staff, Land Ladies and locals.

While passing through the village, we stopped by for a quick bite to eat and a drink before continuing our journey. We were warmly greeted by the friendly landlady and placed our food order. We were seated near the cozy wood log burner, which added a nice touch to the atmosphere. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious and beautifully presented. If you happen to be passing through the area, I would recommend stopping by and supporting this lovely establishment.

We have just spent the weekend away staying at the Griffin Inn at Yoxford. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff were welcoming friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was fabulous and we chose to have both our evening meals in the restaurant, good quality ingredients all of the time, food was plentiful cooked fresh using locally sourced produce and served with a smile and good humour. Miranda and Tara are the best landlady’s we have ever come across there also needs to be a loud shout out for Chloe who greeted us initially and Keira who came in on Sunday morning to help out. We did not stop laughing the whole weekend, thank you. xxx Visualizza piatti

If you are looking for a traditional establishment with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, then this is the place for you. The two owners of the pub are genuine and there is nothing artificial about them or their team. The menu may be limited for food enthusiasts, but the quality and value for money are apparent. The beer is of excellent quality and it is surprising that this establishment has not been recognized by CAMRA. The limited space in the guide may be the reason for this oversight. I am not a regular at this pub, as I frequent many others in the area. I can only speak based on my experiences, and I have no bias towards any particular establishment. I have no personal stake in the acco...

This is my second review this year and I must say that this venue just keeps getting better and better, all thanks to the two owners who run the place along with their dedicated team. Despite thinking that there is no room for improvement, they always manage to surprise with more enhancements. This is a well-run and friendly traditional pub with a limited menu, but everything is well cooked and presented. I haven't stayed at the accommodation since I live nearby, but from what I've experienced and heard from others, it seems to be comfortable and the breakfast is superb. The traditional beers are well-kept and the locals are friendly. I can confidently say that this is a must-try and must-re...

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
