"Having rang to confirm that the Carabao Cup Final was going to be shown, I booked a table (in sight of a TV) for dinner, specifically to watch the game. On arrival, I was informed that rather than the Final you were actually showing Rugby. And that there was no way I could watch the match. Had I known that this was going to be the case, I would not have booked the table. While not happy, I accepted that the rugby was being shown and that I would miss the first twenty minutes of the final... these things happen. When the rugby had ended, the Final was indeed turned on and I was able to begin watching the game. However, to my (and I believe several other customers) bemusement, just as the final was reaching extra time. It was turned off, apparently there was a singer due to begin. At which stage, as I was unable to watch the final any longer I was forced to leave hurriedly in order to follow the rest of the game. As I say, I feel very disappointed by the level of service, I had booked dinner on the basis that the game would be shown, and would have taken my custom elsewhere had I been told this was the case. It was annoying that the first twenty minutes would be missed, but the fact that the match was turned off as it was reaching it's climax (without a word) is unacceptable."

Stopped on a whim for a drink and ended up having lunch. The staff were simply amazing and the food was excellent. Great view sitting on the terrace beer garden. Would highly recommend this venue .

I have eaten there a couple of times, and the food was good. There is an area with TVs and an upper dining area a bit quieter. There is also an outdoor terrace which is nice when it is warm. As in most Northern Ireland pubs, unfortunately, there is no draught beer, so this is not unusual.

Called here yesterday for lunch after picking the keys up for an apartment we are staying in for the the next week. Lovely welcoming pub and staff. Food was lovely would recommend the burger. First time staying in the area as we normally stay every new year in Bangor but we have been through Groomsport before and said it would be nice to stay here so here we are

Booked for Sunday lunch as heard excellent reports from friends who visit here frequently. Went in to find 2 lovely glowing fires which was lovely on such a horrible day. Had our order taken quickly and food served promptly. I asked waitress if I could change a meal for chicken stack with pepper sauce. Was not a problem. Wld recommend this bar for good food and service. Visualizza piatti

Very pleasant pub/restaurant in a lovely little village. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Meal was very nice indeed and extremely well presented. We both opted for the 'The Inns Favourites ' which comprised baby BBQ Ribs, Chicken Tenders, Garlic Bread amongst other things. Overall well worth another visit. My one and only complaint was that it is a tad expensive.

Visited here on a Wednesday in September. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere as well. There was a quiz going on, which we didn’t participate in, but we will in the future My partner had the Beef Bird burger, whilst I had the Seafood Platter. Extremely good quality, the seafood was extremely fresh. Really enjoyable dinner and can’t wait to return 5 highly recommend

Excellent pub serving delicious food and well kept beers. The menu is varied and covers a wide range of options, judging by our choices the kitchen team really know their onions We were only in the area for a couple of days and really enjoyed our evening meal here. All the staff, without exception, friendly , welcoming and very much delivered quality customer service. A lovely local treasure Visualizza piatti

First time back here in a few years and very pleasantly surprised. Genuinely friendly staff offering great service. Plenty of seating. 2 stoves warming the place very nicely. We decided to stay and eat and very glad we did. The vegan had the halloumi and I have the beef and bird combo. Both very good. Washed it down with hot ports and some very decent Guinness. This is how to run a pub. Well done to all. Highly recommended.

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
