The Curre and Llangibby Hunt were meeting here before going off to frighten and then tear apart the local wild life. The whole area was blighted by this event.

The Restaurant serves home cooked tasty meals with a good choice of starters and main course, Sunday dinner is always superb with local sourced meat and veg served at the table, this is a gem of a place well worth a visit you will not be disapointed enjoy !

First visit for Sunday lunch today. Wonderful welcome by landlord, who recommended a great cider. Staff so polite, efficient and friendly. The pork cooked to perfection, a great range of veg, roast parsnips and potatoes lush! Large portions too. Definitely be back and highly recommend

Once again we had an excellent Sunday lunch at The Huntsman today. The food was plentiful and very well cooked, the lamb and the gravey in particular were very good! They were very busy but the service was efficent and the waiting staff pleasant and cheerful. It was also extremely good value for money.

Having had a great time before Christmas and a fabulous meal we thought we would see if it was a one off. Thankfully it was not and we had another great meal and night out. All dishes were plentiful and well cooked. Really good value for money and excellent servers. Speaking to local people the Sunday Roast has been recommended to us so my next report will be on that. I am so looking forward to our Sunday booking.

Weren't sure what time we would get there so we ordered 2 takeaway Sunday vegetarian lunches at £13 each. What we got was enough for 2 meals each! Nut loaf, veggie sausage, veggie stuffing, cauliflower cheese, 6 other veg, a tub of onion gravy each and a Yorkshire pud. The veg were not over cooked and everything tasted good. So good food, well cooked, good portions at a bargain price! Conclusion; we'll be back on Wednesday for curry night!

Hi visited on an evening recently as 2 older couples . They had been there many times in the past but for no particular reason hadn't been back for a few years . For my wife and I it was our first visit . We were warmly greeted by the lady behind the bar and were served by a very friendly and pleasant young lady . We had 2x Gammon and one fresh cod and one 6oz fillet steak. All was good with a proper portion of everything including fresh vegetables all cooked well .. The meal was very good and we hope to return again. The Hotel itself is clean but in need of some investiment in refurbishing . Everything is tired and worn but as I say clean and warm and we will return maybe for a sunday lunch...

Nicely placed on a countryside crossroad. A large car park so, no issue on where to park. We didn't pre- book. The bar area was bustling with happy people chatting eating. The empty tables were reserved. We were greeted by Sarah, at the bar whom made us feel welcome however, they were fully booked. Thankfully a couple had just cancelled in the other restaurant area Sarah, arranged for us to eat in there, still using the bar area menu. It was Silver service, polite well spoken smartly dressed young ladies/women serving everyone. Lovely hot freshly cooked food. No Pre-packaged, pre-portioned microwave meals here.
