"What a waste of potential is the first thing that comes to mind. Yes, it is winter and quiet with only three tables in use. Here it begins to go wrong. Waiting was looooong on bread I also speak about half an hour. That might not be so bad if the music was not absolutely terrible! Bury and fragile songs! It killed any atmosphere that could have bees in there. The services were sufficient, the waiter was polite enough, but looked angry and not very attentive. Eating - this is the shame because it was absolutely incredible!! Good price. The steak was fantastic I mean one of the best I eaten and cooked to perfection! Presentation incredible. Sauce was amazing. If they sort out the rest, I would highly recommend."

Very pleasant lunch in an intelligent environment, the lateral orders of olives and salad etc. really extended to large meals.

Lovely hotel. Welcoming by staff. Lovely pool and spa facilities. Great room service and an upgrade on our room. Just lovely. Beautiful view.

Standard fayre, nothing wrong at all but not outstanding. Price on the high side but convenient as we were staying next door. Noisy wedding party though.

We were upstairs, Monday evening, not full but still many tables occupied, mostly hotel guests. The service was very friendly, the food was good. We drank a nice wine and the bill was reasonable. So I can recommend this restaurant.

The Carbonara was the best I've ever eaten, but my son commented on how the Calzone wasn't what he expected when he opened it, he was hit with a layer of soggy cheese and what we thought to be chickens with lumps of strange ham up, not very appetite at all. However, the garlic bread was delicious and came in abundance. The ambience was beautiful and the waiters and waiters were friendly and very helpful, although they were busy.

Although the cafe could not find our reservation, we were made very welcome and they quickly found us a suitable table in fact allowed us to choose from those still available. We had a bit of a wait to order drinks and the food, but otherwise did not wait long for the starters and main course to arrive. We both ordered starters of deep fried calamari, which were cooked to perfection, very tender and not rubbery or chewy as squid can sometimes be. We followed that with seafood linguine. They were generous portions, with a great variety and plenty of seafood. Whilst my wife's had lots of white wine sauce, mine was a little drier. The service was very attentive.

"One of the best steak houses I've ever been to! I highly recommend this restaurant. I made a booking for one last minute and they accommodated me quickly. Unfortunately, when I arrived and was shown to my table it was laid up for two and the waitress even put down a second menu. I chose what I wanted and was seen to quite quickly. Despite ordering a glass of wine, one starter and one main, the waitress then asked if I was waiting for anyone. As a single dinner this repeated assumption that I must be with someone else made me feel quite saddened, especially as I had pre-booked for one. The wine was very good, and the starter came out in a flash. I had ordered whitebait but what I was presented with was surprising small considering it's £8 (roughly) price tag. The fish was good and the batter was done well. The accompanying sauce/dip and salad were both good as well. The main issue was portion size for me, especially as I see whitebait as a cheap option in normal restaurants. I had the rib-eye steak at £30 (roughly) and ordered it blue. Something that is always risky in my experience, but the chef did it to perfection. I think it is the best blue steak I have had in all of the Bournemouth area. The garlic butter was divine and the chips and onion rings were well prepared. The grilled tomatoes were very good, I must say. Over all, the food was absolutely exceptional and the service was absolutely on point! Except for the price and size of the whitebait and the service making me feel a tiny bit awkward for being alone, I would have given 5* across the board. The place is quite pricey, for me alone with just a starter, main and two drinks plus the tip came to £70. However, the steak was so good that I would still recommend it if you are able to afford it.
