"We went there for a dinner . Place look very nice and posh so the people inside. But thats illusion, which doesnt last long... First wine came with a metal screw wasnt too bad but honestly ... if restaurant dont have corked bottles over...20 thats says already something... I scan names on couple below and above the choosen one and most of them scored pretty low 3.5/5 thats supermarket category 5-8 equivalent) Pre-starter bread was tasty but plane butter with it not so much. Souffl starter was good I ate better once though , the other starter not as lamb meatballs were completely dry and soaked in tomatoes salsa bread served with didnt help it sorry but meatballs cant be done with such a type of a meet ... Mains both steak and belly pork decent but again nothing that special steak was of pretty thin cut, so overdone in places to what was ordered and same with pork to be frank all seemed like been in oven ? way too long on prepared days before ? ...and most of sides was wrong dauphinoise potatoes sliced perfectly but dry like would be reheated 10 times for a week completely not eatable from top side ... and no cream inside and way over spiced in very unpleasant way. Than we have been as well neglected towards end of visit table at far end, but who cares ? Or Becouse we didnt order dessert maybe ? Sorry but didnt want risk more neither spend there more , so we finished waiting so long that we went to desk to pay . If you want spend on two courses of pub quality food with 1bottle of wine easily 100 go for it otherwise avoid !"

We were lucky enough to eat here twice in two days. Excellent food, great service and a fantastic building with lovely flowers and a very pleasant courtyard garden.

we had a fabulous meal today. both the vegan menu and the mainstream menu had so many great choices. we all enjoyed our meal times. the service was excellent and the environment beautiful . we come back!

a beautiful place with a peaceful friendly ambiente. the service was good and the food was of excellent quality, very good portions and delicious. it is great to see daily specialties as well as a lunch menu. a place I return to, especially for the courgette frit and pimms!

Sunday lunch very good, high quality tasty food. Beautifully presented in gorgeous surroundings. But, one small niggle though. The young waitress continually used the Americanisms of what can I get you guys there you go guys Not really appropriate for the quality of the...restaurant, or the customer demographic! Please stop! the mansion house is a beautiful old building and all the tables were well spaced. we really enjoyed our three cursor meals on a Saturday night. the food was delicious and well presented. the service was also excellent with the additional bonus of all...the workers wearing masks. we can recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

It has become a favourite venue to meet with friends and family for morning coffee or lunch. Equally, it is an excellent choice for a special occasion and evening dinner. The staff are helpful and friendly as is the owner, Andrew. What better way to...spend coffee time than by an open fire! The food is excellent and there is lots of choice at sensible prices.

the evening dinner with friends on Saturday night did not disappoint. high expectations were exceeded. great venue, such a beautiful building, tastefully restored and wonderfully decorated for christmas. Eating was delicious, personal friendly and professional, attentive, but not intrusive in any way. beautiful evening, first in. months, but we are back! well done andrew and team. sue and ian archibald. Called in for lunch. So much choice it took me a while to choose. My wife had a mushroom stroganoff and I had a prawn and Marie sauce sandwich on brown bread with a side of chips. My wife really enjoyed the stroganoff. There was...a very generous portion of prawns on my sandwich and the chips were excellent and portion generous. Excellent value for money for the quality of the food. Great building and well worth a visit. Recommended.

Just happened to be passing by saw they did refreshments so we thought we’d try a coffee. We were met by a very nice man who, although it was lunchtime, we could just have a cuppa. Whilst we were deciding what to drink we...glanced through the lunch menu the dishes sounded really nice so we tried them. My partner had blt sandwiches I had crispy beef in chilli sauce. Both were excellent came with a freshly made salad I also had some lovely chips. There was plenty of food the drinks (lager a gin) we good too. The service was excellent, very friendly the food came promptly. We’ll definitely be going back
