"we went to lunch the other day, there were 7 of us all together, which we had not booked, but they were very accommodating to sit in our own room for a big table". eating was delicious, especially the black pudding tower! the egg was cooked to perfection! also the meat release plate was delicious! the salads looked fantastic and also tasted incredible! the personal is beautiful and very happy to help!"

"After we picked up our takeaway on Monday 29th August 2022, we tucked into a feast of onion bhajis, poppadoms, samosas, and three curries. I can comment on what I personally ate, which were: Poppadoms: unfortunately they tasted rancid Onion Bhajis: Very dry and hard, and didn't give the impression of being fresh at all. It tasted and felt more like it had been made yesterday or ealier and reheated and consquently overcooked. Shame. The flavour was ok, but still, was disappointed. Lamb Karahi: Again, the impression was that this had been prepared and reheated and was way overcooked. The sauce was good it was indeed a tasty curry, but the lamb was way overdone and dry. Garlic Nan: You can't really go wrong with that, can you? As expected. Not very garliccy, though. All in all, a decent enough curry, but nothing to write home about, or indeed, to repeat. Perhaps it was because it was a bank holiday. If I try again mid week (I live abroad, so don't hold you breath), I will update."

"we were in the opposite and the new inn was our local. Wednesday to Sunday, I thought the new inn could not be much or very special, as it was closed for the first two days of our visit. I was very wrong. at our first visit, the server could not be more helpful, we wanted to sit outside, but they asked us if we would rather sit on comfortable, even though we had a little dog that was more than welcome to sit under our table. the staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. the drinks came very fast, like eating. the new inn has its own pizza oven, you can simply wander and order a takeaway pizza! because we decided to sit, we could see that one of our partys pizza is cooked and prepared with care. the prices are reasonable, eating was generous in portions and all tasted good quality. our second visit meant that we had a separate server that was more than friendly again. none of our party is disappointed about both visits, different meal times and gloom all polished and service with smiles round, what more can they ask? Well done if we ever are in the opposite, we would definitely be very recommended to come back!"

"Visited this pub on a Thursday, which was steak night. It wasn’t very busy and the offer was 2 rump steaks for £20. At this price, we honestly did not expect anything amazing. However, this is one of the nicest steaks I have ever eaten! It was cooked (medium rare) to perfection. Just the right amount of seasoning. The chips were also very tasty. The meal came with cherry tomatoes and a salad. Again, both were delicious. As I was hungry, I ordered the cheesy garlic bread. This was also superb, but I could not finish it as I was so full. It is a mystery why this pub was not packed with people, serving food of this quality and price. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area."
