"Was really looking forward to going to the plough, we are local (10 mins away) but hadn’t made it until now. Obviously a busy Easter weekend but I think short staffed, took a while to order and we had to ask. After about 25minutes our main courses arrived, we refused them and said we were waiting for our starters. Our waitress returned to check what we had ordered, apologised then after a few minutes returned with the main course, apologised again and told us our starters were on the way. We agreed that we would take the food but obviously cancelled the starters and said it wasn’t very good! Food was fine, nothing special but okay. Asked for the bill and this was incorrect, so recalculated. Overall not great"

Would recommend this jewel of a place. The Hughget pee was melted deliciously in the mouth. Exceptional value and friendly warm service.

The chef must have been away on vacation because my meal was bland and lacked any flavor. I was extremely disappointed and confused by the quality of the food.

The food was great, but the service was bad. As soon as the order was finally taken, the food came out quickly, so obviously there was no problem with the kitchen.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch and would highly recommend this restaurant. The starters and main courses were delicious (especially the beef!) and we would definitely visit again. The only downside was the wait for the main course, but all was forgiven when our delicious meals arrived and we left with clean plates. The side of cauliflower was also very tasty.

We visited The Plough for their weekday set lunch, which we found to be a good value for the money. Despite it being a beautiful day, the restaurant was very quiet. The staff were friendly and attentive. While we both liked our starters, my main course was satisfactory but my partner found his pork to be tough. However, he did enjoy his pannacotta dessert. Overall, it was not the best dining experience we have had.
