"Four of stayed at the nearby Wood Fen in the Sedge Lodge. On our last evening we decided to visit this pub for dinner , this is not walking distance from where we stayed so we had a nominated driver. We arrived and was shown to our table in the restaurant by Jamie , he worked so hard all evening serving at the bar and being waiter for the diners. He was very polite and didn't appear to get flustered at all, well done Jamie. Our food was freshly cooked ,the prawn sizzling dish with noodles and vegetables with sweet chilli sauce was excellent and I had a cheese board for dessert which was very good, not many places seem to do a cheese board now days. If we were in the area again would certainly return to the Plough."

Had lunch there on a Sunday. Was quiet but great food and service. Fresh and tasty and great value. Had the Somtham salad and a chicken and veg stir fry. All very nicely presented and very tasty. Just the correct amount of heat too.

Popped in for a quick drink in the garden after a dog walk. Friendly and efficient service but did not find the surroundings very pleasant. Did well in the current conditions but wouldn't go back just for a drink although would be happy to try the food if in he area again.

This was recommended to us when visiting the area and we were able to walk to it for our meal. The owner knows everything about the menu and was able to advise what to have. Sophisticated it isn't, but if quaint, old world charm and authentic Thai is your thing give it a go. It was delicious.

First time here as on a mini break with my boyfriend, walked over an hour to get here and I've never had a more unwelcoming experience. Stated online dog friendly but wasn't, not a problem we sat outside but the service of the staff behind the bar was rude and impolite, had one drink and left. Won't be returning.

Stopped at the Plough mid way on a walk from Ely. Thought we'd missed our chance as we arrived after 2pm but the kitchen was very happy to stay open for us. Fortunately for us they'd run out of sandwiches, which is what we would probably have settled for, instead we had a couple of fantastic Thai dishes which were really tasty. The staff were really friendly the prices were good too!

Quirky old pub. Mismatched cutlery and crockery but this is not a fine dining restaurant so it doesn’t matter. The food we ordered was absolutely amazing, starters and main course cooked freshly. The flavours were wonderful. The kitchen and bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were here on a few days away but were we local we would be very much regulars here. You can eat in or take away. Highly recommended.

This was my third or fourth visit in the short time since I moved into the village. I know The Plough from 30+ years ago. I have very fond memories of it and it is a joy to see how much of its character as a much loved village pub has been preserved. And then there’s the food: it’s delicious and incredibly good value. The service is charming, cheerful and friendly. And there is still room for locals to have a pint without impacting the diners or vice versa. A gem of a pub.

A nice old pub, with lots of old things preserved. The man who served us was a bit curt and surly, and not very welcoming. By contrast, the lady who I presume co-owns the place was very friendly. The food was OK but not great. Chicken satay starter was nice, but my chicken Pad Thai tasted a bit odd and had hardly any chicken. The desserts were nice: bananas in cream, and rice in cream. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. It gets busy, and gets fully booked, and I was recommended to come here by a happy customer, but I don’t think I’ll personally be back.

"We were here for a family reunion on Fathers Day. I was going to give 3 stars but having had no response to 2 feedback emails that I sent I have downgraded it. This is the honest feedback that I sent: I’d like to thank you for your help in putting our family meet together. We were pleased with the comfort and ambience of the area where we were sat. We also felt the staff were pleasant and courteous. The meals and the drinks received a mixed feedback. We felt that the vegetables and sauces were very good although a group of 4 were given a small dish of green vegetables to share. Some time later a request for more green vegetables was dealt with but the timing was not good. The fish and chips were commonly well received. I’m afraid that the other aspects of food and drink and most importantly ORGANISATION were poor. When we arrived a waiter came over to take orders of the people that had not placed an advanced order. 2 people at one end of the table asked about the ordered drinks and had to say what they ordered and their order was delivered. I was a little concerned that 2 coffees ordered for the sweets of Peter and Jenny were bought with those 2 drinks but they seemed OK with taking them then and despite all the complaints in this email I don’t want to find fault. At my end of the table the waiter told me that he would come to me with my order but he must have forgotten. Starters were brought for those few that ordered them and a waitress eventually came through to enquire if everyone was OK. I said me and my wife were still waiting for our drinks order. After another 10 minutes someone cam back with the 2 decaf flat whites that we ordered for the end of the meal. Unfortunately the waiter, who was clearly distressed to be told to take them back and bring the correct drinks order, wished to engage with me in a disagreement about where the fault for this lay in front of all my family. This did upset me. Eventually my ale and my wife’s wine was delivered to us – it had taken over 90 minutes to arrive and both the ale was tainted and the red wine not pleasant. In addition the 2 pre ordered drinks were brought for a second time! The poor organisation also meant the meals did not arrive in good time. After nearly 2 hours most people had not had a bite to eat. The meat was very poor. The beef was inedible (very tough) and the poor standards of both meats was fed back to a waitress. By the time that sweets arrived staff was particularly flustered. The sweets came so late that 3 of the people that had ordered ice creams had to leave to catch their train. Again our drinks were forgotten so I asked for the 2 decaf flat whites. These were eventually brought but they were luke warm. My wife felt embarrassed for the staff so she drunk hers anyway as she did not want another accusatory conversation in front of our group. I had to ask for mine to be replaced as I felt that it was unpleasant. That concludes my feedback although I should say that there were other deficiencies. You have been warned!"
