"we have booked the royal oak as it was relatiw close to and had good reviews. So, first, this is not thought to be a bad review, but only an example of how easy the scaling can be tapped when assessing a restaurant. we overlook the trio. of old codgers of the bar that was increasingly sung when they remembered about rugby and football, as they were not the pubs to blame! but is a simple thing like an salate that is fresh and crisp is not a hard thing to do, but both the natalate for our starter and the one who accompanied our net looked like he had been sitting for a day. If we could see that, the chef could see that and so it should have been easily corrected. after said that our rippchen was perfectly cooked while the squid ring starter, which would have been acceptable in any other night, achieved a 3 compared to the chili and garlic puwn we had elsewhere in the previous night and the achieved a comfortable 10. the meal was reasonable, but our general feeling was one of the disappointment I fear."

I went to this restaurant on a Sunday for a meal and it was amazing! I really loved the fried pork and the potatoes were delicious!

Lovely pub surrounded by scenic countryside. The food is good and the staff very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend, particularly if you’re taking advantage of the walking and cycling trails in the area

we recently had a wonderful evening in the royal oak, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff was all smiles and nothing felt like too much annoying. eating was tasty and affordable and the beer was obviously well maintained and very pleasant. Highly... come visit one and will definitely return for their ‘local famous’ Sunday roast!

Just wanted to say we quite often pop into The Royal Oak for a drink but tonight went for steak night it was fantastic! The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, plenty of chips and lovely peppercorn sauce. Excellent value for money from...this lovely friendly pub. There is always a friendly welcome from Pierre and Alice if you haven’t visited then you really should! Visualizza piatti

Fantastic local! Under new management. Pierre and Alice are very friendly and welcoming. The pub is full of original Arts Craft features, with an open fire. It houses it’s own Felday Micro Brewery. The room they have to let is near great walking, cycling,...and horse riding trails. Lots of outdoor seating, and a huge car park. Just off an attractive village green. Very dog and cyclist friendly!

What a lovely pub! We went for steak night tonight with some friends who had popped in for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and been really impressed. First impressions when we walked in was of a friendly, welcoming traditional pub complete with roaring...fire. The general manager was beyond welcoming and was making time to speak to all of his customers. The food was superb really well cooked steaks came out exactly as ordered and all at extremely good value. This is the best pub meal we have had in a long time and we will certainly visit again.

nothing good to say about this place. table not available, so offered a table through the gents or through the entrance door. we would have gone on every other day, but it was the Mother of God on Sunday. eating took an old to arrive, first order wrong. and the mushroom and cashew wellington had neither mushrooms or cashews. I would have sent it back, but there was no obvious way to do that. the place is clearly short occupied, the organization does not exist, so that waits build, and they must limit the numbers until they can cope with the required service level. really terrible. Came here for lunch after a walk on Leith Hill. The service was excellent, food delicious (most notable was the roast pork belly I suspect they may have lost our desert orders as they took some chasing up after a long delay. However once Alice...found out she quickly rectified the situation and made an adjustment to the bill. The way this was dealt with spoke volumes to what felt a really genuine desire to ensure we had a good experience. I can also recommend the local lager. Quite rare to find quality food at good value anymore. Will definitely be going back! Thanks Alice for looking after us. Chris and family.

The day before we went I messaged the pub to ask them to send me a menu and I got an almost instant response. We did a long walk the next day and called in for a lete lunch. The young barman welcomed us and...ran around responding to our needs and the needs of the other diners, without appearing stressed, despite being the only member of staff out front. I had the mediterranean sandwich which was excellent and my companions had the Beef sandwich and the BLT, which were also good. I was asked on ordering whether any of us had any allergies. After, I had a coffee which was hot and good and the barman brought steaming hot milk on the side (which I like) without me having to ask. Altogether very...
