"We planned to have breakfast elsewhere on Monday, which turned out to be fortunate as the pub was closed until 12:00, a fact we were not informed of. Additionally, we were not warned that the pub closed at 17:00 on Sunday evening. Luckily, there was separate access to the rooms behind the pub, but it would have been appreciated if we had been informed of the closure times. We intended to provide feedback upon checkout on Monday morning, but the pub was closed, and there was no staff in sight. Regarding the room, we experienced a persistent clicking and tapping noise coming from the bathroom pipes which kept us awake. It was frustrating that we could not address these issues with management. When we reached out via Messenger to share our experience, we received a generic automated response, which was unhelpful. As of today, Thursday 12th October, we have yet to receive a proper reply. The pub appears lovely inside and out, but the lack of accessibility and interest from the owners/management is apparent. This establishment is poorly run, and we do not recommend it to others. It seems likely that it will go out of business soon."

Great quiet location, but around 20 minutes from the main city centre. Room was well equipped and comfortable. All staff were fantastic, special mention to James, Sara, Libby, Katie and Cydney!

Great evening out. Waited on by the lovely Sara, who did a great job in making sure we had a wonderful evening. We went for the two burgers for one. Delicious meal. Option of meat, fish and veggie. Very god value and fast service. Beautiful setting.

What a superb visit! James the assistant manager was a delight! Nothing was too much trouble! He was accommodating and friendly on entry. Charlie our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had a great time! Thank you both, what a cracking night!

Visiting Oxford and went for meal on a Friday evening with family and our dog , From the minute we arrived we were looked after by Sara and James. Their service and friendliness was exceptional. Food was served quickly and was very good. We will he back next time we are in Oxford

Service from the front of house team was good, what wasn’t good was the value for money food offerings, top dollar prices for pub grub but the portions were so small we actually asked if they had served starter portions, we were assured they were mains, am afraid I will not be back for the foreseeable

We stayed for one night. The pub itself is really quaint. Lovely and cosy with the fire going. Staff were all very friendly and helpful in arranging a taxi into Oxford town centre which cost £16. There is a park and ride nearby which only cost £5 to park and get a return bus to Oxford. Our room was very clean, decorated really nicely, the bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. We paid extra for a cooked breakfast which was one of the best I've ever had. Overall the hotel was perfect for what we wanted and would definitely consider returning. Excellent value.

We wanted to try this place as we drive past it often and it looks beautiful, welcoming and cosy from the outside. The inside didn’t disappoint, the staff were smiling, kind and helpful, nice soothing music playing and although the place was full, it wasn’t noisy. We both had the vegan ‘mushroom and leek pie’, which looked homemade and was delicious. Only 2 suggestions for improvement our meal, although lovely, was really salty. And we both had the pie as it was the only vegan main course on the menu. Another option or 2 would be great. Would definitely go back though

This charming pub is dog-friendly, conveniently located with ample parking. Unfortunately, our experience for Sunday lunch was disappointing. The beef seemed to be pre-cooked and sliced, making each piece identical and too thick to cut easily. The roast potatoes were not up to par, and the vegetables arrived late. The mashed swede was unrecognizable and the starter soup was not to anyone's taste. Despite the friendly staff, the restaurant falls short of its potential. The recommendation is to offer a high-quality homemade Sunday lunch with locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, offering a variety of alcohol-free spirits could attract more customers.

The restaurant provided a lovely welcome and was dog friendly. The staff were very informative about local eateries, although the pub was closed on Sunday evenings. The room was nice and modern with a comfy bed and a huge walk-in shower. However, there were some cons to consider. The room faced a seated courtyard area with no blinds at the window, affecting privacy. Additionally, the walls were very thin, making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms. There were not enough plug sockets near the mirror and TV area, and there was limited storage space with only a hanging rail provided. Be cautious of the low-hanging rail near the bed. Finally, there were no mattress or pillow protectors...

"We usually love coming to Cafe Rouge in Henley, always a treat for us and we are always looking forward to it. However the most recent visit was awful and it’s been going downhill over our last coupes of visits. We booked a table for my father in laws birthday. Upon being seated, we were informed that 3 of the main course dishes were unavailable.. pretty much half of the ‘mains’ options. We don’t come to Cafe Rouge for Burgers or salad! We opted for 3 portions of Mussels as had them here before and they’re very good! Mother in law just had pate as there was nothing else she wanted. These were possibly the worst mussels we’ve ever had. You could tell they weren’t fresh (cooked from frozen for sure) and there was barely any sauce in the pot! Usually they are flavourful and abundant in sauce! No check back was performed by the manager on duty..it was a quiet Monday so wasn’t exactly run off his feet. So we couldn’t alert him. Even upon clearing we weren’t ask how our meal was! Just asked if we had finished. We decided to mention they were awful to which the manager told us he would inform the kitchen. When he came back to finish clearing, my partner asked if they were frozen or fresh mussels, to which the manager replied yes, they are frozen. Wasn’t expecting that but you could totally tell! They tasted like cardboard! We had a coffee and a pudding and to be fair to the manager he didn’t charge us for one portion of mussels and the coffees we ordered. The Bill was certainly not worth what we had. Didn’t leave a tip, which we never normally do, but the service was non existent. Manager was more interested in what was on his phone. Won’t be rushing back"
