"We stopped by this restaurant for lunch and a stroll in the picturesque Comrie area. The establishment includes a cafe, shop, and offers yurts, camping, and biking for holidaymakers. It promotes a natural, fresh, and eco-conscious experience, but comes with a steep price tag. The cafe prices are quite high, with a mocha or piece of shortbread costing £4, quiche and limited salad lunch priced at £17, and small, watery hot drinks served in paper cups. The menu also includes ciabattas, bagels, soup, and cakes. The portions are small and the food is served on plastic plates and cutlery, which is not very pleasant or in line with the eco-friendly ethos of the place due to the waste caused by plastic. The quiche was bland, tasteless, with a rock-hard crust that broke the plastic cutlery while trying to cut it. It did not seem fresh. The salad had tasty flavors, but was limited. The server had a stingy attitude, refusing to heat the quiche as it would supposedly spoil it, and was not very accommodating when we asked for salad. We were made to sit outdoors on a cold October day in the pouring rain, as the indoor seating area was closed. We ended up eating a disappointing and expensive cold meal on plastic plates in the freezing cold. It was apparent that the restaurant was cutting costs by not heating the food or allowing customers to sit indoors. The atmosphere felt geared towards affluent middle-class individuals in expensive camper vans and clothing, rather than genuine environmentally conscious individuals. It felt like they were taking advantage of customers with high prices. If we were not so hungry and far from other options, we would have walked away. It is important to be mindful of the financial crisis, but taking advantage of customers in this way is not acceptable."

First haggis I had and still the best. Fresh produce grown on the property. Hop, skip and jump from room to cafe.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the surroundings are lovely. We stopped here while checking out the path from West Lodge to Comrie Croft for a Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

I didn't have any expectations, I just wanted a nice place to stop for an early lunch in really bad weather. This cafe surpassed all my expectations. The food selection was fantastic, the location was great, there was a cool little farm shop attached, and the overall vibe was brilliant.

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
