Simple on line reservation process, with reminder and even traffic info and suggested time to set off! Service was personal and friendly, food was superb produced with skill, fabulous flavours and unusual but excellent dishes. Would certainly eat there again.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, interesting, and nicely presented. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and it was a delight to meet the chef who personally delivered plates when things got busy. The concept and execution are wonderful. I will definitely return.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal and felt truly pampered by the staff and the chef. It's a wonderful touch that the chef comes to see how you are enjoying your time and the staff make sure you want for nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and the place is just gorgeous. After the demise of Montrose, The Twenty Six has risen and it's a great restaurant. The menu is not massive but it isn't supposed to be. This is a test kitchen but the food is great. Really interesting selections, lovingly prepared and extremely tasty! Every time we go it's quiet (mainly for lunches) which can be a plus.

We had an outstanding evening at The Twenty Six. The staff and chefs go above and beyond to give you the best dining experience, and they absolutely did. This is how restaurants should be run! The food was amazing and being able to speak to the chef during courses was such a bonus. The staff were so attentive and it felt like they couldn't do enough for us. We absolutely cannot wait to come again!

We went to the Boxing Day Brunch which was excellent. We had 3 courses for less than £25 including a plate of bread. The starters were a lovely choice, I had scrambled eggs with a huge amount of smoked salmon my husband had a duck egg with bacon black pudding. For the main courses we had sea bream lentils pork belly with lovely mashed potatoes. A chocolate dessert with honeycomb a christmas pudding creme brulee finished the meal. The food at this restaurant was excellent, with a unique twist and flavorful presentation. The small menu offered plenty of enticing options, making it difficult to choose just one dish. The lamb breast and duck, especially with the bourguignon garnish, were standout choices. The service was efficient and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The cozy and beautifully decorated setting added to the overall dining experience, with special touches like the chef visiting the table, amuse bouches, and truffles. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning in the future.

My wife and I booked The Twenty Six for lunch on Saturday having driven past it many times. The room was lovely and cosy with a nice wood burner providing plenty of warmth as did our host with very nice Sour Dough Bread and Volcanic Salt Butter to nibble on as we arrived. Although the lunch menu is limited, we both found items that we thoroughly enjoyed with my Sea Bream cooked perfectly and my wife's Veal really delicious. The Panna Cotta was one of the best that I've had for many years and the Blackberry Sorbet with Gin Soaked Blackberries was also lovely. There was a large party for lunch upstairs and we were the only diners downstairs which is why I've marked Ambience down a little, but...

Let me deal with what I consider the negatives first. The menu is not extensive but when offering seasonal produce that is inevitable to a certain extent, but there is one choice of potato and bizarrely only one vegetable cabbage. The Amuse Bouche is a nice touch but it would have been nice to know what we were eating! It was just placed on the table with no explanation . Finally for the negatives gorgeous bread, butter and dips but no plates! Parking wasn't easy but at other times we were there in the evening) it might be better and of course not within the gift of the restaurant. So onto the positives...
