"What a little gem. China cups and saucers and tea cosies on proper teapots! Lovely ambience with an interesting 40’s theme and charming staff. I was with my granddaughter and we both ordered a toastie absolutely delicious. Lovely bread and loads of filling. Everything on the menu was wholesome home cooking, and a good selection as well. I had a scone (with cream and jam) and it was gorgeous, just as if it had come straight out of the oven. Cannot recommend this place highly enough for a visit, especially on a cold, blustery day in January. There is a garden outside, so I will be back in summer to experience this lovely place in the sunshine (and I won’t mind if it doesn’t shine, as I shall just enjoy the food and the delightful staff)."

Wonderful venue, lovely, efficient friendly staff. Food superb, tasty, SO much, that we were allocated a box to take home all our delicious 'leftovers '.. Could not recommend this place enough! 5

The tea rooms are absolutely charming. The atmosphere is wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious afternoon tea. I would suggest making a reservation as the space is limited but very cozy.

Loved our visit to the vintage tearooms! We were made so welcome. Great service, generous portions of fresh food, well presented, great venue for afternoon tea. They even called us when we left something behind. Perfect! Visualizza piatti

Absolutely love the ambience here. Service is excellent. Staff very friendly. Nice to keep alive the memories of times gone by. Gluten free cake available, and 40s music playing in the background adds to the atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.

This charming café in the center of Herne Bay is a delightful find. The ambiance and menu are perfectly in sync with the café's theme. My mom, grandmother, and I had a lovely time and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much!

The Vintage Empire team graciously created a beautiful carrot cake for my partner's birthday. It was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant. We have visited in the past for tea and cake and the team was so kind and welcoming. No matter the occasion, you will not be disappointed! Visualizza piatti

Excellent afternoon tea, lovely selection of freshly made sandwiches and cakes, and warm scones, ladies very attentive offering more tea, atmosphere was lovely reminded me of grandma's parlour of the 40’s , ration books and memorabilia all around the room and soothing music playing in the background, accommodated my dairy free diet, talked me through my options. Will hopefully return before Christmas to sample the new menu.

A delicious lunch in this warm welcoming cafe on a rainy day in Herne Bay! The 1940s theme was lovely combined with Christmas decorations! My husband had the double decker festive sandwich complete with gravy for dipping. He was having a hungry day so also had a scotch egg which came with a warm cheese scone salad! I chose the toasted sandwich with turkey, bacon, cranberry cheddar. It was all absolutely delicious, great value the staff were very friendly attentive. Highly recommended!

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
