"Everything in the White Heart is disorganised. On arrival you are just ignored. When you do manage to get attention they have no idea on what to do. Drinks are not offered you have to go to the bar as no waiter available. The revamped tapas menu and build your own meal are a good change to the offering. However the staff have no clue of what the dishes include so you are left to work it out. From ordering to meals arriving 45 mins. Just plonked on the table by waitress and left. No offer of sauces etc or maybe a second drink. No check is the food OK. So back to bar to queue and carry your own.drinks back. Then when you get your bill from the bar they add 12.5% service charge to everything. What a joke as there is no service. They were unfriendly throughout. We live local and really like how the hotel is laid out. Whenever we visit we struggle so it's no fun. This hotel and restaurant needs a manager who knows their job. Staff need training."

We went with our sisters and other half’s for a lunchtime meal. A really great location with friendly, helpful staff. Good choice of drinks and food. Well worth a visit

Stayed overnight after a trip to the Bombay Sapphire distillery. Staff have been brilliant from booking communications, through to service during our stay. Our room was lovely, breakfast and dinner were delicious…and the whole place was really Christmassy!

Nice environment and food. However a mandatory 12.5% service charge is automaticaly added to the food and even the bar bill. I could except this if the service warranted it but more often than not its indifferent at best leaving a feeling of resentment and being ripped off .

We visited the White Hart on Friday evening as part of our weekend getaway for an easy and casual dinner. It was a lovely and cosy pub with a great playlist and good food. The menu was very no frills which is just what we were after and we had a lovely meal lamb koftes were a real highlight! Visualizza piatti

While the environment is lovely and the service, this time, was great, the menu really has gone downhill. There's nothing exciting or exotic at all, just plain old pie, mash, fish chips and the like. The food itself was quite bland and difficult to get through. Won't be returning until the menu offers something beyond dull, regular pub food.

I live close to the White Hart but haven't visited in a long time due to very poor food and poor service. I heard that there was a new chef and had heard good reviews, so I decided to give it another try. The food was delicious, and the service was great! It was very busy, but the waitress checked on us regularly. There were 6 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be going back again.

Stayed here after a local gin distillery tour. We had a deluxe room which had plenty of space. The room was tired around the edges especially the bathroom but okay. Windows were very draughty on a cold night! Bed was comfortable. Although a Nespresso Coffee machine was in the room there were no capsules. The restaurant was very busy and the food was okay alcohol very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very nice although the coffee was average. Overall average for the costs. Visualizza piatti

Family Christmas Day lunch and all of us had pre-ordered different starters, mains and desserts. Management had taken care to limit the numbers in the dining areas so the pub didn’t feel overcrowded or noisy and all the food was beautifully prepared, presented and served when requested. (Breathing space required between the main course and dessert! In addition, all the servers were attentive, cheerful and helpful. Excellent value for money and the whole experience really enhanced our Christmas Day. Thank you to all involved.

We came to the White Hart about two years ago and had a fantastic Sunday roast- probably one of the best I’ve had in a pub. We decided to revisit, expecting the same delicious food as last time. Unfortunately we were let down, the potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were very burnt- as we ate in the evening I think we were served the leftovers from the lunch service. The £4.95 portions of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets were significantly smaller than last time and the cauliflower cheese was bland. We did complain to the waitress, and it was obvious my partner hadn’t eaten half of his meal, but nothing was done to compensate our issues. Considering we paid £18.95 for a roast, it was a hu...

"We stayed at The Watership Down Inn for one night as we were visiting the Bombay Sapphire distillery for a tour and had booked dinner at the Inn later in the evening to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival we were shown to the room. with...no real instructions indications as to breakfast times (the exact words were maybe 8:30ish, maybe 9:30, we'll let you know We did ask for this later into the night at dinner, and again were told rough timings but warned that these may change. Upon arriving at dinner, we were shown to our table, the bar staff seemed to require further training as they were unaware of what Campari was, or how it should be served (my partner had to point the bottle out on the bar). There was one waiter in particular who did seem knowledgeable, however, and managed to make classic cocktails for the couple beside us clearly a great asset to the team! The meal itself was great, high quality ingredients and we felt reasonably priced (including a bottle of red). Smaller things during service, however, were missed our water glasses were filled once and once only, my plate was removed within mere seconds of my final mouthful, and despite having added that it was our anniversary to the booking, there was no recognition of this (Why ask The room itself was spacious, the bathroom was a great size and very beautiful. The surroundings were again absolutely stunning. We had a terrible nights sleep, however, as the fire escape light (and 3 other bright green spotlights) were on all night leading a path to the door and the double bed was clearly two mattresses combined, meaning the middle of the bed had a gap to fall into throughout the night. Breakfast service was delayed due to a power cut throughout the kitchen (again, cannot be helped and completely understandable given the circumstances) at breakfast we did mention a few of the above issues, and were offered no real compensation, hence this review. Overall we probably wouldn't stay again, as we felt that for £100+ a night we would be given a warmer welcome, and that some of the issues we raised could have been compensated for upon our departure (a drink or a snack on the house for example would have been a lovely gesture)."
