"My partner and I stopped here for lunch. I had a ciabatta with roasted vegetables and houmous with fries as an add on. The ciabatta came with a small side salad of watercress, chopped cherry tomatoes and toasted seeds, and a portion of vegan coleslaw with vegan mayo. The whole plate was drizzled with a balsamic dressing. The ingredients were all really fresh and the houmous was very good and there was plenty of it in the ciabatta. I probably didn't need the side serving of fries which was quite generous and came with vegan mayo. My vegetarian partner had a sandwich with halloumi, lettuce and tomatoes. His sandwich came with the same salads as mine but veggie. He also ordered the fries and a vegan sausage roll with lovely, flaky pastry and a very traditional tasting sausage meat. While the vegan options offered weren't massively original, the food was fresh, well-made and the portion sizes were good. They also did a vegan milkshake and had vegan ice-cream flavours but we didn't get to try those because we were stuffed. I think it would be a good place to take meat-eating family members with lots of familiar options but also some nice vegan options for you! Updated from previous review on 2021-06-08"

Friendly, attentive service and some proper vegan options (eg. scrambled tofu). I had the Buddha bowl, which apparently isn't always vegan but was today. Will defo visit again!

The service was friendly and attentive, and they offered some great vegan options, such as the strangled tofu. I had the Buddha bowl, which isn’t always vegan but was today. I definitely want to visit again!

Nipped in here for a quick bite to eat. Didn’t have time to order from the menu so got the sausage roll and some cake. The roll was okay, the cake had potential but it was incredibly dense and quite dry, so not the best. Could do a bit better quality wise Updated from previous review on 2024-02-18

There were a couple of vegan options including 2 homemade soups, a Buddha bowl, and one cake option. I had the Buddha bowl, a latte, and a milkshake. My favourite was the coffee, although it was 60p extra for oat milk. I would eat here again I would love to try the soups and the orange and polenta cake

I visit this restaurant frequently, and I recently noticed they've added many new vegan options to the menu. The avocado on toast comes with a delicious dressing, and the vegan breakfast features a flavorful tofu cube. Some of the sandwiches can be made vegan if they're not already, and they often serve vegan sausage rolls and occasionally vegan millionaire shortbread as well. There are also vegan Buddha shots that look enticing, but I haven't tried them yet. The coffee here is excellent too!

I visit this restaurant frequently, and I was excited to see that they've recently added a variety of new vegan options to the menu. The avocado toast is topped with a delicious dressing, and the vegan breakfast features a flavorful tofu cube. Several sandwiches can be made vegan upon request, and they often have vegan sausage rolls available, along with vegan Millionaire Shortbread from time to time. I've spotted some tempting vegan Buddha shots that I still need to try. Additionally, the coffee is excellent.

2023 update: the menu is completely different now. There are still some vegan options but I don’t think they’re as good and it’s very expensive for what you get. —— I've been here many times but recently they've introduced loads of new vegan options. The avocado on toast comes drizzled with a really nice dressing, and the vegan breakfast includes a tofu scramble which has a lot of flavour. A couple of the sandwiches can be made vegan if they aren't already, they often have vegan sausage rolls in, and sometimes vegan millionaire shortbread too. There are also vegan Buddha bowls which look good but I've yet to try them. Coffee is excellent. Updated from previous review on 2023-10-12

I'm writing this as I'm sat in here having a coffee. So far, I have had a vegan sausage roll and vegan biscoff brownie alongside my oat flat white. The sausage roll was far too herby but not the worst I've had. The brownie was dry and really disappointing, it was sat in an open fridge that customers get their drinks from which made me wonder how many people had touched it before me, this would also explain the dryness. The vegan options in the cake area are lack lustre (1 vegan sausage roll, 1 beetroot vegan sausage roll) The coffee is nice, and the beans come from a local roasters from horesham. They charge 40p/60p for oat milk, which I think is steep considering a flat white is already £3....

"Whilst wondering this lovely little town, we wondered what we should grab to eat. We thought we would play it safe by going to a non-commercial but traditional Italian restaurant. However, whilst the menu may feel like you’re sitting in Italy, there is nothing safe...about the quality of this food! I should first of all acknowledge just how receptive and warming they were to the fact that we had two infants who were part of our party. They did everything they can to make sure that they were smiling as much as we were, and able to squeeze in our buggy and luggage accordingly. The food though was absolutely delicious. The folded garlic and cheese balls to start were absolutely delicious, and oozing of salty chewiness. However both of the monk fish main courses that came out were absolutely outstanding, with very fleshy and generously portion size pieces of fish. The veal Milanese was perfectly crispy and moist in the middle. The infant size pizza was generous portion size. All of it was cooked fresh and served warm. The only thing which frustrated me was the lack of wine options that you can order by the glass. I do understand why restaurants don’t make all of their wines available, but as the only one drinking I would have liked more than just a Pino for white wine options. But this isn’t a restaurant for alcohol, this is a restaurant for well cooked food for all occasions. If I am in the area again I would easily eat here"

"we have eaten here before and the food was pleasant enough and last night we were here with 2 friends, we ordered, whistle, and tempoura garnel, followed by makrele with a “bbq” sauce, dover sole and mönchsfisch with a “seedy” sauce. where should I start? it was quite wrong with some of the courts. the garnels were nice, the muscheln were ok, but the sauce was not great, but that was ok. When it came to the net, our chips were forgotten and therefore came a bit late - even that would have been in order, but the makrele dish was not good, the “bbq” sauce tasted strongly from orange! our friend likes zitrus really and since this was not mentioned on the menu the makrele was also very dry. I had the mönchsfisch satay and expected a spicy erdnus sauce, instead the fish was covered with lime leaf, which I strongly dissimilar - not mentioned on the menu again and the satay sauce was insipid. the Dover sole was very good. we were asked if we enjoyed the meal and so polite feedback was offered that these aromen were mentioned on the menu, as they were the dominant aromen of the feeds. the owner continued to argue with us - she was exceptionally rude and told me I obviously don't like strong aromes! she also asked me to ask if I ate the court! she continued to argue very rude and told us that it was obviously not for us (the restaurant). that's true! we have eaten in many restaurants of all standards and have never been treated like this! our evening was completely ruined - not because of the food, but because of the rudeness of the owner. we paid the bill and left. our friends have eaten a lot in the past, but unnecessary to say, none of us will go again."
