"What a treat in the heart of the gastronomic capital of the world. Japanese cuisine best! Both lunch and dinner will be with the care and the exception you expect from a high quality Japanese restaurant. It was a two for me yesterday, which meant both lunch and dinner. For the record I should make an image of the menus to capture the actual names. For lunch I had Tataki Don lunch sound; this includes Elan soup and an accompaniment. I paired the meal with a bottle of Kirin. The meal came quite fast, about 10 minutes, and look pretty impressive. The Tataki Don was beautiful; the shade of raw tuna meat, sprinkled sesame seeds and stripes of Nori were appealing to the eye. The visual spectacles did not disappoint my taste buds; fresh tuna, a hint of sesame, very mild/light vinegar from rice. A well balanced dish, I tried a touch of soy sauce and only a touch... it doesn't need it and I would argue that it interferes with the delicate balance of the plate itself. The miso soup had it typical cloudy essence with what looked like to be a much fresh / lighter version of seaweed. The taste was not as intense as it would normally be used. The accompaniment was well done and very tasty. I'm not sure what it was, but it was pleasant... someone's helping me with the picture. For dessert, I chose the green tea cake... a hint of sweetness as you would expect, dense texture and fine flavor of Macha. Google, if you read, can we read the comments section for breakfast, lunch and dinner... can sections for different reviews from the same person? It feels like I'm writing a book here! Dinner was the 5-course, plus dessert, tasting for 49€. And it was worth every penny... a journey of delicate, fresh and complicated flavors. This may need my laptop to write the rest of this review... keep tuned."

Food was bland and price was too expensive. Small servings too, was still very hungry after. The waiters were very nice though.

Nice place to eat good Japanese food. Small room, so don't hesitate to make a reservation. Beautiful list of choice and wine. 2 menus at night. 39€ and 49€ and totally worth.

I lived in japan for 8 years. Here you can enjoy the drops of good Japanese food at affordable prices. I recommend the lunch menu. you have to try to garnel the tempura and sweet comes with udon nudelsuppe. my wife and I will. return to dinner. I have eaten in 5 continentals and where I have seen the japan trade association certification, this is excellent.

Are you looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant in Lyon? ToMo is one of the few 100% Japanese restaurants that you can go and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. Elections are limited for lunch as they prefer fresh ingredients of the season. The à la carte menu is available for dinner in addition to menus. Reserve in advance as they are usually full. waouh! what a meal! I have the menu “Dégustation” for less than 60,$ 6 courses and each meal brings a high complexity in the taste! but if they find 60$ too expensive, the “menu du marché” is $45 and 6 courses too. First,...Scallops second, lobster flan, third, bream in juli sauce, fourth, grilled duck, five tofu sushi with aal and finally, a crème brûlée! that was a fantastic meal! and cherry on the cake, the service is perfect! enjoys!

I had been looking forward to eating in this restaurant and was at the weekend in lyon after it was reopened after the summer break. it was a warm evening and the restaurant has no air conditioning, so immediately the experience makes difficult. Unfortunately, eating was also a real disappointment and not very special as I had hoped. nothing but other mediocre Japanese meal in france and a bad menu selection. I still have to find in French decent Japanese foods to compare with london and other major European cities. my search will continue. even paris disappointed on this front!

After spending 20 years in Asia, I must confess that I am generally quite picky with Japanese and Asian foods. we landed randomly for lunch in tomo and enjoyed it. eating is similar to what they eat in a small lunch. restaurant in tokio would get. don't expect something funny. no sushi or sashimi here. it's simple, but authentic. I had the fried chicken that was delicious. tomo offers only menus for lunch. a limited selection of Japanese original foods. if tomo had offered a more traditional decor and decoration, it would have been a Japanese jewel in lyon: the dining room is simple and does not relate too much to japan. Although, they are sure to get authentic Japanese cuisine: the place is...

We've been with my partner to this small restaurant in the 6th arrondissement because of the good reviews it had, and we've not been disappointed. The quality of the food is very good and really close to the flavors you can taste in Japan. We...took the menu with 5 dishes, which we recommend because the portions are small. The algae salad was perfect, the tofu absolutely awesome and also the tempura followed by the rice with salty plum was a pleasure to eat. A point of improvement can be on the portions that are small even for those, like us, who are used to gourmet restaurant with not huge portions. We didn't take any nihonshu (sake) from the long list they have available, so we cannot advi...

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
