"This restaurant was recommended to a colleague and me by our German host. It was only a few minutes walk (10-15 minutes) from the hotel to Linde where we were. Note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. The restaurant is located in a historic old building with magnificent wooden beams and columns. It claims to have been a family business since 1558. The restaurant will enter through a beautiful old courtyard, which would be a cool dark oasis on a hot summer day. Upon arrival we met a coach party leaving the restaurant, so we really did our entrance. We noticed that several tables were reserved, so it is obviously a popular restaurant. We managed to find a table and our order was accepted. In the evening we saw no sign of male workers – all cooking and serving seemed to be done by three ladies who could have been of a family, as we thought we could see face similarities. We were served by a middle woman who first seemed rather brutal with little English knowledge. That's why I quickly picked up my trusting German phrasebook and dictionary and translated the menu and what to say. We were told that the Rump-Steak was excellent, so we both chose this and ordered our steaks as we liked best in our badly pronounced German. However, we ensured that our order was understood by referring to the relevant words! First, we had a salad dressed in an excellent Vinaiigrette. The Rumpsteak came with fried onions and potatoes. It was delicious and cooked for perfection. Very delicate. It was very well washed with a local red wine, full of fruit and with just enough body. We fascinated a dessert and chose something we thought the black forest torr. It was close, but not quite gateway. When we later, in the United Kingdom, told about our experience, there was a better German speaker that a better translation was black forest cups or goblet. Whatever it was. Cream slurries cover a lot of black cherries and ice cream with plenty of liqueur – seriously alcoholic! We were one of the last people to leave the restaurant, and we assume that by the efforts to speak in German, we were warmly welcomed by all employees. The staff had definitely warmed us in the evening. We drove back to our hotel, which enjoyed a wonderful last night on our business trip. We both recommend this restaurant, which also has a separate guest house with about 8 rooms. We will definitely return. The restaurant is a good alternative to the in Karslruhe itself. It is easy to reach this restaurant of Karlsruhe with the tram (S5 line)."

"A beautifully designed guest house opposite Wilferdinger Train Station. I wanted to come back for years, I was very recommended by colleagues. Typical Italian ambience. We were greeted by hand printing as if you were a long regular guest. Two superiors led us to a free table, tried very attentively. We are not necessarily the fans of Italian dishes. mal ne Pizza, which is usually ordered via home service. Spaghetti, Pasta, Rigatoni and Pizza are offered in many variations. In addition, fish and meat to which you get a supplement, either salad, rice or croquettes. My son ordered Spaghetti Bolognese. I didn't want it, I can do it at home. I'd rather have fish, the Italians can do that. We chose grilled salmon with salad. I found rice or croquettes unsuitable. He tasted, was also beautifully dressed, salad consisted of leaves and tomatoes, with a very oily dressing, that was not our case. Overall, the price for a piece of fish and a few leaves of salad was too high with 17 Euro 50. The other fish and meat dishes are also similar. Conclusion: attentive service, beautiful ambience, too high quality. Don't have to be back."

"Since I have been working in durlach for many years, I often went to lunch here, although it is far from the office than almost all other restaurants in durlach. that is the one we have chosen when we have something special. above-average quality. the menu and the staff have remained almost unchanged for many years, and so has the reliable, fine quality. a lot of styles is available, including more than a dozen vegetarian options. the lunch is really cheap; the evening is considerably more expensive, although not inappropriate in view of the quality. we had also served eating the maharani as a buffet in the office for several special occasions, which was also always good, although obviously not as good as just from the kitchen in the restaurant itself."

"One of the main reasons for staying at this hotel was, we were told , that their peach Bellines are very,very good. As the hotel didn 't have the peaches, we decided just to have a glass of champagne each., that was fine but, little disappointing....My main course was fish, this was very good. My husband had lamb shank, and was disappointed. He said, 'there was too much, it was a bit dry and tasteless '. Breakfast, was a different thing entirely. Just amazing. An avenue of tables laden with everything and every variety you could think or wish for. This is a GRAND BUFFET at its best. After you have had the buffet of your choice, a waitress will ask for your cooked breakfast order! Attentive and pleasant service by all who work at this establishment."

"My husband planned a wonderful surprise dinner for our anniversary and emailed to reserve a dinner on a Wednesday night a month in advance. We got confirmation that it was all good. We were visiting the area and heard good things about this place so we were quite excited to visit. We arrived to the place and got VERY rude treatment from the owner himself. I was quite shocked when he told us they are closed on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. From such an established restaurant, why would they confirm a reservation when the place is closed. I was appalled how the owner just said quite rudely that it is not possible that they would confirm reservations on a closed night. We had the email for proof, not that we put it in his face to show that it was their mistake. Also if you don't know German, good luck not very friendly at all! The patio area for snacks and drinks were open but after that encounter with the owner, we didn't want to spend any more time or money on the establishment. I'm sure this place is worth the dining experience for the food but having such poor customer service, we won't be experiencing it in this lifetime.The area is quite beautiful compared to the surrounding areas and worth the drive just to take a look from top of the city.Opening hours on trip advisor need to be updated as well."
