"I'd noticed the restaurant earlier in the day and remembered it as a possible place to eat that night with colleagues. The menu had a good selection to cover all tastes.We ended up as a small group in one of the booths. I ordered the snitzel which was excellent - a little too much salt on my chips but nevertheless delicious. My colleagues ordered fish and salads. Everything was very good and rounded off well with a carafe of highly recommended house wine.Service was first class. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming. A very quaint traditional German restaurant but well worth a visit if you're in the area."

I went out with my friends for dinner. We choose this restaurant because it looked nice from outside. And it was good choice, food was delicious, staff was great and we enjoyed that evening

"Eben ordered, delicious as usual. But then what amazed me... the little döner suddenly costs 7.50€ with cheese. Okay, it's gonna be more expensive. But that the Döner was only half as full, the meat felt only 20g, the cheese (which, by the way, costs extra) not greater than a 50ct piece, and the salad also did not even correspond to a children's portion, then quite disappointed me. Rest of it floods with sauce. I'm sure it's worth it as a fraud. All right. You're going to be my customers. Too bad."

"Wir haben 3 Pizzen (verschiedene Größen) Salat und Pizzabrötchen bestellt, es hat alles sehr lecker geschmeckt. 1 Sache wurde vergessen, hatte angerufen und es war innerhalb 3 min da gewesen. Ich werde öfters dort bestellen und freue mich auf andere Gerichte."

"unfortunately I must say that my enthusiasm keeps within limits. the presentation of the restaurant really good. the old furniture. we were less enthusiastic about eating, because it was unfortunately only warm when we arrived. that was not because it was much to do, because it was not definite. the reddish onions were cold, the brot unfortunately too dry. the apfelketchup? sounds good....only from apfel wasn't much to remember. I don't want to put everything down now, I was just disappointed because I had just heard good. for us not convincing."

"We stumbled on this little gem whilst walking through Essen looking for lunch. Traveling with my partner who only eats chicken and our friend who is a vegetarian can be quite challenging, but lucky for us we walking into Restoran Ponistra, which was a vegetarian restaurant of number 1 quality. We walked into this small 3 person run restaurant to the stares and laughter of the locals and as per the norm in Germany the menu wasnt available in english! This is a major issue in Germany. We sat only to have the big haired hostess showing us the daily menu and saying how was she going to communicate with us, only to have another patron say that she spoke english and would translate for us! Such a life saver. We had one of the most delicious meals whilst in Germany. We ordered salmon with vege and vegetarian lasagna with salad! Our translator said the restaurant was strictly vegetarian and cooked fish once a week, all food was organic and made from scratch! We were very impressed to say the least. We paid 10 euro each for a fabulous meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant."
