"Welcome to the firm building, whose tradition extends up to 1485 – a house that stands for a large piece of Lübeck history. One of the most beautiful places for the meeting of tradition on modernity – in the heart of the Lübeck old town at the town hall. That's what it says on the homepage. And we were welcomed here several times, not so much at all, because we targeted the cafe with intention and according to plan, but rather to warm up somewhere after at least one hour of walking around, to use the toilets (women stop! and take something hot to us because we were simply cold. And since the Viennese café house is located in the middle of the pedestrian zone in the wide street and we came past it several times every day, we used the opportunity whenever necessary. On 2 floors you can eat coffee and tea, hearty dishes, as well as sweets like Kaiserschmarrn. Breakfast in various variations is also offered. So it came to our first visit in the late morning, because after a while outside was just really cold, so we went inside to a table in front of the cake counter (where else!). And you won't believe it, but I didn't eat a cake here. Because if you compare the selection of cakes and cakes here with that at Niederegger, you can definitely understand. Later in the afternoon at the Niederegger Arkaden Café, the cake enjoyment should be topped. So we ordered a cup of tea to warm up, for me a darjeeling. Well, what do you write about a cup of tea in a review? At the hot barn and the hot cup you could warm your hands wonderfully and enjoy the beautiful colour of the tea and also take a sip. Tastefully, every cup of tea was sprinkled with two teaspoons of sugar, naturally white sugar and no candy. ****! Without sugar no tea and no coffee! I know how healthy this is! And I know that there are fellow fighters here at GG, who can write much more detailed, differentiated and well-founded about a box of tea! The next day we came back here because I had forgotten my scarf. And this time there was a glass of peppermint tea for me (3,50 €). During our 3rd visit at a noon, the two door steers at the side entrance were successful with their funny talk and the small discussions with us about menus and lunch dishes. But it also made a heathen fun! One then dragged us over the stairs to the restaurant area, which looked out with the covered tables, gave us the lunch card and our very quiet gastric cord wanted to be turned off. We decided both for the Yellow Lentil Soup (7.80 €), but for me without the fresh coriander. And of course it should be hot. For me a 0.3 Pepsi Cola for 3,80 €, for my girlfriend as always still water. The two soups came fast, were really hot and tasted very good. The lenses still with light bite, the pine cores somewhat comminuted, but still crisp, tastefully all harmoniously matched. The roasted/stoasted paninis were still nicely warm, nicely crispy and matched very well to the soup that was of excellent consistency. All in all, we couldn't complain about anything, not only the two door handlers did a nice job. It was freshly strengthened in the afternoon."
