"Beautiful tea room, friendly service and what they had on offer was absolutely top notch. Would definitely give 5* but they were on a reduced menu so there was only one item for someone with dairy allergies (and none for vegans) which was the reason we'd gone because they'd gotten great reviews for their vegan options. "visited several times during a holiday and absolutely loved this pub. there is a great mix of a healthy amount of faithful local visitors and those who visit from other afield. this is a perfectly placed refreshment station along the priest’s way, as eating is a joy - we thought of a drink, but ended up eating with an ingenious Sunday roasting dinner. the kitchen is located in a delightful rustic bow in the garden, but not be deceived by the look - the quality shows that the cooks enjoy and are good what they create. there is also a useful shop that keeps many important things for local and tourist. we will definitely return."

"It would be okay if I didn't have to listen to their cheesy music blaring out at half 12 at night from over 2 roads away! I hate the carnival when it comes to Swanage. Feel sorry for those living closer to this pub. And for them to tell me it's from the carnival is absolutely disgusting. If you carry on lying like this, I'll have to come and burn your pub down, hopefully with you in it!!"

"We visited here whilst staying in the area and the reviews looked great. We called to book a table the day before but reservations are not taken in the school holidays, we were advised instead that food would be served from 5.30pm on a Saturday. We arrived on Saturday at 5pm expecting it to be busy only to be met with a sign outside stating food is served all day and a mob of people all at the bar ordering food. It was a manic rush to find a table but we chose next to the bar, we chose our meals waited for the calm but it didn’t come so I joined the queue and waited patiently. The bar staff were lovely really friendly the order was taken with ease and the drinks were reasonably priced. Despite being so busy our food arrived very quickly within twenty mins. My beef burger was nice and hot but dripping with grease, my boyfriends chicken burger was cold and dry however we could not get anyone’s attention to get it changed. I ate as much of my meal as I could with the constantly dripping burger and my boyfriend had one bite of his chicken burger and left the rest. We paid our bill and promptly left, we could have raised it on paying but felt there was no point as we just wanted to leave as the hustle and bustle in the bar didn’t make for a relaxing eating experience. It’s a shame as the puddings board looked good and we were going to stay for the evening but that was not to be. "Such a shame we knew they didn’t have the full vegan menu (October 2020) but still had good options, popped in Tuesday afternoon to check for a family lunch the following day and were told we couldn’t book outside tables but to come before 3.30 after which they just served pizza. Arrived Wed 1.30, shown outside by a very friendly man we met at the door who I took to be the manager went to ask for menus and were told they weren’t serving food outside! No tables available inside (prefer outdoor anyway currently), wondered about takeaway sit out? But no. Ended up in the pub opposite with a bowl of chips as only vegan option. Will try again another time as it sounded good. Disappointing though."
