Over the past ten years, whenever we came to Dusseldorf, we eat at Yabase, and it is always the best sushi. Order toro and you won't be cheated by chotoro served in Nobu.

very popular and good Japanese restaurant in Dusseldorf. I have been at Kikaku and Niko hotel several times and this one can be added as another favorite for eating Japanese food

Even on the weekend they have lunch specials that is worth your money! We went around 2PM on Saturday, but still waited for 15 mins to get seated. We had to wait for an hour to get our first course of sashimi and it was already late, so therefore just before serving the dish they told us the kitchen was closing so if we wanted more we had to order right away. This was nog very friendly. Furthermore it was very expensive, and not really worth the money.

Even though we made a reservation we had to wait to get seated. Then when they seated us it was not what we asked for. Then the food came 50 mins late. Then to boot when we were still eating the server came with the bill and asked us to pay in the middle of our meal. Have to say regardless of what other reviews says regarding the taste with service like this it make everything taste bad.

We are a Japanese family and based in Germany since 2000. Yabase is one of these places where things can even be better than those available in Japan. Food industry changing around the world and so much ready made "fast" Japanese restaurants. Yabase serves traditional, properly prepared good food in modern and comfortable environment. It's always a good sign (I think) if there's a lot of Japanese people eating in a Japanese restaurant... and it is definitely true at Yabase. Came here with friends and we had different lunch options and they were all fantastic! I had the lunch menu of the day (15€) and it had a little bit of everything and everything was delicious. I would have loved to try the dessert but unfortunately I was too full after the menu. If you're in town and looking for a great Japanese restaurant, come here!

I did not know that Düsseldorf is home to more Japanese than any other city in Europe. This must explain why Yabase exists.Our friend suggested he meet there for dinner and my low expectations from the glaring lighting, packed tables and cafeteria style furniture were quickly overturned when the food started to arrive...The sushi was some of the best I have eaten in Europe. Very bad experience. Though I am not Japanese, I travel to Japan almost every month and been to so many places and enjoy a lot of Japanese food locally. Yabase is no doubt the worst experience I have ever met for a Japanese owned restaurant. Food is just so-so but expensive.(maybe German living standard is much higher than Japanese) Place is too small and full of people. No eating quality at all. Service is like a small restaurant in China. Rude and impolite. Nigiri is very bad, why you take the sushi by stickers, the rice falls down. Even tamako is cut uneven.
