"I have used this take away regularly for 30+ years and for not the first time I received sub standard food via delivery this week. Although I have never made a complaint I felt the food was especially poor on this occasion. When I called to convey my dissatisfaction I was not only completely dismissed but in not so many words called a liar. It took a second call from my son for our concerns to be taken seriously and an agreement to replace one of the dishes was reached. However by the time my son was off the phone I had served the chicken to the dogs not realising the arrangement to return the dish (not sure why as Id hope they wouldn't have served it back out to another customer) On delivery of the replacement dish I was charged for this due to the missing meal. Pretty poor show Id say for a regular customer. All in all it was not so much the fact we received sub standard food, I understand this can happen on occasions, it was the disgusting attitude and manner in which our complaint was dealt by the establishment. Safe to say I will never be using this particular take away again, I would much rather give my money and custom to those who value their customers. In addition, and as a side but still a very important point. My dogs, who were served up the first dish which we were not happy with, well they were both extremely ill that evening and next day. Safe to say I am VERY glad we did not eat the dish even though we were told very bluntly and on no uncertain terms there was nothing wrong with the food! I will, of course, be sending a report to the local Food Standards team."

We love the food here and will travel 7 miles to get it as no longer live in strathaven. Portion sizes are big, food is brilliant, shop is always clean and have never been disappointed. If your unsure of anything just ask the staff as they will help you.

Great takeaway. Probably the best Chinese I’ve ever had, however the standard of prawn crackers is very poor as they are very thin. Prawn crackers are a huge part of my meal when I eat from yee hong with my partner. If this was to be addressed my experience at yee hong would be fantastic.

Read the review re the moaner ! Wanted small portion, and unhappy not on offer, what a tight ass ! Probibly counts the number of rice units in each dish and if a bill comes to 9.99 waits for the penny change ! These folk make me sick, get a life or a new partner as obv things not perfect for you. But to be fair the moaning gave us all here a great laugh. The food is EXCELLENT, the service brilliant, and whilst Yungs in Hamilton is ALMOST as good, nothing beats this place. Away to order again, always first class food with a smile.

Myself and my girlfriend have been going to the Yee Hong in Strathaven for the past few years and since moving several towns away I still find myself travelling back here every other weekend to order food as the quality and service does not compare elsewhere in my opinion. Louis always ensures the food is fresh and on time for pick up and he ensures fantastic customer service. I can highly recommend this take away to anyone wanting fantastic food and great service. I recommend the curry sauce that is made fresh every week to the secret family recipe and they do the best salt and chilli chicken dish around!
