"We ordered our food at 18:30 direct from their website. It was due to be delivered at 19:30. At 19:50 I called chasing my order as it still wasn’t even showing as being enroute. They asked to call me back, which they did 10 mins later. They advised the food would be another 15 mins. I politely pointed out that will have meant it was 45 mins late and will be delivered 1 hour and 45 mins after I ordered it. The gentlemen was quite aggressive in his verbal tone and attitude. He repeatedly spoke over me too. I decided it was best just to call the telephone call to an end. The service was pretty appalling which is a shame because the food itself was good. However I’m personally not willing to order from them again, to be left waiting for an hour and 45 mins for the food, with no proactive warning or apology, and then receive the level of aggression I received."

What a great find this place is. The food is such high quality. I had king prawn biryani. The prawns were so hot and juicy and the veg curry had a wide variety if veg. Highly recommend. I'm def going back for more.

Hostess was amazing at catering for our tastes as we like dishes very spicy. The chef came out and asked if all was well too. Each curry was delicious as well as the accompaniments. Quick, friendly, dine in service. Will definitely be re visiting.

My partner and I have been residents in the area for a couple of years now and we have ordered takeout from Zarda Cottage in the past, but we had never dined in at the restaurant until this past Saturday. We were thoroughly impressed by the excellent service and the high quality of the meal.

Was really looking forward to Indian food tonight but boy am I disappointed. The Chicken korma was bitter not the usual sweet like version, the garlic naan did not taste of garlic at all and the chicken tikka had very little sauce in it. I feel like i could have made a better indian meal with the sauce from Asda tbh. Never ordering again or will try a different one with better tasting food.

The manager tonight was just as rude as could be. Food was lovely and he was complemented accordingly. Questioned difference in bill price and menue price and was almost thrown out with him stating it was a printing error. Never ever been treated in such a way and had he had said the price had increased due to current cost of living it would not have been an issue. Will never return and left feeling genuinely insulted. (We were the only diners in the restaurant!

Visiting Yalding for a work trip, this place is the only one that delivers to where we are staying. Ordered 3 curries. One being a chicken tikka masalla which was inedible. Spicy beyond words. Called the restaurant to be passed onto the manager who was smarmy and had a very poor attitude. Said he had been serving it all night and had tried it and that it wasn't spicy. He did offer to replace it BUT after his poor attitude I decline. One of the other orders was a butter chicken which tastes like a tub of salt had been poured in and the final a chicken korma which was BLAND. £60 wasted! Please avoid this restaurant at all costs

I have been ordering from this restaurant for years, even during the Covid pandemic when local businesses were struggling. The food is great and probably the best Indian food in the area. However, recently the manager has become difficult to deal with. Tonight, because he was busy, he didn't ask how much my order was, even though it would have more than covered the cost of one driver's wages for the night. He said they were too busy to deliver to our location on a weekend, even though we have always been charged extra for delivery. Despite the delicious food, we will not be returning to this restaurant. We cannot tolerate poor manners and service. If he continues with this attitude, he won't...

Our daughter was back from uni for a couple of days so (having moved to the area the previous January) we decided to give this restaurant a go. We hadn’t heard anything about it from friends we’d made nearby, so had no idea what to expect. Thankfully we were very impressed; the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient and the food was outstanding. I went for something I’d never come across before, a Lamb Sali and it was amazing… if a bit on the hot side! In fairness, the menu DID say it was hot, but I never learn! Be mindful that they don’t sell alcohol here but guests are welcome to bring there own, which we did. As curry lovers, and the restaurant being a nice easy walk away, we’ll de...

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I visited with my elderly mother who was on a restricted diet, which we explained to the server. Despite the restaurant being empty on a Friday night, the server seemed uninterested in serving us. The food was good, but because we didn't eat much, we asked for a doggie bag and were told we had to pack it ourselves due to Covid restrictions. However, we didn't see many Covid precautions in place at the restaurant. The service was arrogant, dismissive, and unfriendly, which is probably why no one in the area goes there. We had been wanting to try this restaurant for years, but it did not live up to its reputation. I would not recommend this...

"I feel a bit bad about writing this, but for the first time ever there 's only 1 star and probably the longest comments I 've left. We arrived around 12:15 on a September Thursday after having a walk hungry, we fancied a pub lunch. Staff were pleasant if a bit rushed the young lady behind the bar was on her own and doing the best she could. Several things were off the menu, but we ordered a Curry of the day (Thai Green on this occasion) and sausage mash with gravy. Difficult things to screw up... After a reasonable wait, two small dishes appeared. The Thai Curry was tiny, containing a few small bits of grilled chicken in a fairly anaemic sauce, with a small amount of plain white rice on the side; the two sausages were quite small and on a small bed of mash surrounded by gravy. Both dishes were stone cold. We sent them back. Frankly, if we hadn 't paid in advance, I 'd have left at that point. A few minutes later they re appeared, along with a small dish of sweet chilli sauce and 3 small prawn crackers, two of which were not properly cooked (still solid in parts, i.e. not cooked hot or long enough). The sausages were now hot, the mash lukewarm and the gravy cloying and still pretty cold. Being fair, the very small sausages were quite tasty, but the mash was under/not seasoned and the gravy had little flavour, no onion or anything even vaguely interesting, and was still cold. The curry was a disgrace. The rice was flaccid and tasteless, the curry had almost no flavour and the chicken was watery, and pretty grim (tasteless too). Tiny portion as well. We left the curry. I did eat the sausage mash as I was really hungry, but in retrospect wished I hadn 't. I almost never leave food anywhere in the world, but I left that curry. I 'm not sure how dishes that bad could be let out of any kitchen. We complained to the waitress (who was doing her best) she asked us not to leave and a minute or two later refunded our main courses with an apology. I felt for her as she was doing her best as front of house when the kitchen was a shocker. Note that we didn 't ask for a refund or even hint, they just provided it. I 've never asked for a refund. It 's sad, as these days rural pubs need to do things right, but this wasn 't just small things; everything they could have done wrong with those two dishes they did wrong. Nothing cooked from fresh, nothing checked before leaving the kitchen, tasteless food, tiny portions, cold."
