"Booked a table for a catch up with my friend, arrived 5 minutes before our booking. Stood waiting for someone to show us to our table. Someone who I assume was front of house came over to us and just stared at us waiting for us to speak. I mentioned we had a table booked for two, but he just shook his head and said there was no booking. I showed him my confirmation from opentable. He looked around and then walked off assuming we should follow. So we did. We sat down right next to the kitchen and were left there. No one offered drinks. The lighting above was extremely bright and harsh. Felt like a canteen. Which is a shame because we’d just left Portivo lounge where the ambience was lovely and friendly. We got up and left. Terrible service. No apology for the booking confusion. Went back to Portivo and enjoyed the lovely ambience. Will not be returning to Zizzi. Get your act together Zizzi. You have a lot of competition in the area so you can’t assume people will return. You have lost two customers already."

We booked with open table but when we got there it shouldn’t have been booked as there were no available tables however the staff were very helpful and were able to rearrange and fit us in which was very much appreciated. Top marks.

Very enjoyed our second visit to this chain of restaurants. It definitely matched the experience we had recently at the Chelmsford Zizzi restaurant. The location in Gloucester Quays is also very good. On this occasion we had appetizers and nets that were on site again. The staff was also very friendly, helpful and super efficient. We will definitely use this restaurant again if in the area Gloucester Quays.
