"It was a great pleasure to eat in the brasserie. We chose the four course menu, which was very well prepared. From the service to the quality of the food, everything was perfect. Unfortunately, a star has to be deducted because the first course only arrived about 30-35 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately there was no greeting from the kitchen, as is usual. Maybe something has changed there. All in all, it was an interesting culinary experience, as you can easily see from the pictures. We definitely recommend the brasserie and would be happy to come back. "Normalerweise kommt er rund wieder... Aber hier gibt es 80 cm lange Pizzen, die man klein 15 cm oder große 25 cm bekommt. Was ich persönlich nicht so mag: wenn Pizzen aufgewärmt werden. Hier wird nichts à-la-minute zubereitet sondern es ist fertig da und man sucht sich die Pizza und die Größe aus. Danach kommt die Pizza nochmals in den Ofen. Schade um die frischen Basilikumblätter, die dann verbrennen. Wenn man danach wieder frische Blätter raufmacht wäre es ja o.k. Der hausgemachte Eistee war sehr gut. Dort war aber das frische Basilikum-Blatt drin, das ich mir auf der Pizza gewünscht hätte. Die Dosen mit dem Besteck erinnern sehr an Jamie Oliver. Die Preise sind o.k., wenn man beispielsweise die Pizzen aus dem Migros vergleicht. Aber hier schmecken sie eben sehr frisch. Etwas Unsicherheit besteht beim Namen: VITO for Ladies and Gentlemen erinnert eher an einen Friseur... und Pizza Bros. passt besser, aber man fand den Ausdruck nur auf der Auslage."

"Die Karte ist sehr kurz gehalten, es gibt jeweils ein fleischmenü. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet, insbesondere der gemischte Salat ist gross und reichhaltig sowie abwechslungsreich! Der hausgemachte Eistee ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Alles sehr günstig. Reservieren empfiehlt sich für Aussensitzplätze im Sommer!"

Man fühlt sich sehr Willkommen.Sowieso ist der Service sehr freundlich und kompetent in ihrer Arbeit.Die Auswahl beim Speiseangebot ist Gut aber Übersichtlich.Das Fleisch ist Hervoragend. Das Cordon bleu sehr gut Gebraten und Gefüllt! Menü auch ganz Gut. Das Essen kommt Schnell, vielleicht , viel zu Schnell. Aber es ist Mittag, da haben es die Leute Eilig! Wir nicht, müssen aber Mitmachen.Neben den oben Erwähnten Speisen versuchten wir auch das Tschechische Angebot. Da liegt unser Problem. Ein paar Kartoffelspätzli mit Zwiebeln, speziellem Käse aus Tschechien und minimalen kleinen Speckwürfeli.. Ja ,es waren sehr wenige und sehr kleine Speckwürfeli.. Das ganze für 24 Chf. Ist mehr als Überzahlt. Es schmeckte zwar sehr Gut, aber der Preis.. Das Personal ist sehr Freundlich, wie Geschrieben. Danke dafür! Aber die Spätzli in Sauce Ertränkt, dass noch ohne Löffel.. Vielleicht ist das bei einem evt nächsten Besuch Anders."

"what happened to the cantina toscana? yesterday after a longer break we were back to dinner in the cantina and unfortunately it was a total fall. the risotto was tasteless, watery and boiled. after we made the waiter aware of it he reacted somewhat unwrought but offered instead a mixed salad. the salat that then came was unfortunately even worse: brown edges, white leaves and simply not fresh. we showed the brown salad leaves to the waiter. unfortunately he reacted very unprofessionally and insulted us. after that we were no longer served and after paying (of course, the risotto was calculated on the bill) also not passed. that has fallen from the windows when eating gradually the Christmas lights has been adapted to the descending quality of the food!"

"Das Restaurant befindet sich im ersten Stock eines alten Gebäudekomplexes, der als Hotel, Gasthaus sowie für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt wird. Das Restaurant besteht aus drei Zimmern, die meisten Tische waren um 19.30 bereits vergeben. Die mit einem Michelin Stern ausgezeichnete Küche bot ein 3-Gang-Menu zum Preis von 115 ,-CHF an, das auf regionale Produkte setzt und ansonsten den sommerlichen Temperaturen angepasst war. Das Amuse bouche, eine Mousse von Gänselebermousse und Rotweinbirne, überraschte angenehm. Auch die Vorspeise, ein mariniertes Hamachifilet mit einer Pimms-Gurken-Spuma und Fenchelsalat war für meine Gaumen sehr fein aufeinander abgestimmt undüberzeugte. Dagegen konnte der Hauptgang (Barre de linge mit Amalfi-Zitrone, Tomatenvariation und Gnocchi nicht ganz mithalten, auch fehlte mir etwas die Verbindung zwischen den einzelnen Aromen. Letztendlich war mir die Säure der Zitronen und der eingelegten gelben Tomaten etwas zu dominant. Beim Nachtisch überzeugte mich die Nektarinentarte mit ihrem besonders krossen Boden mehr als die Trilogie von weisser Schokolade und Zwetschge.Die Auswahl an offenen Weinen empfand ich als etwas limitiert. Als Weisswein wurde beispielsweise ein toskanischer Chardonnay aus dem Jahr 2016 angeboten, der die typische fruchtige Note vermissen liess und für meinen Geschmack keine ideale Weinbegleitung zum Fisch darstellte. Auf Nachfrage gab es dann auch einen Chardonnay aus dem Burgund mit komplexem, leicht fruchtigem Bouquet. Der offene Wein wurde uns nicht berechnet. Der Service, bestehend aus zwei jungen Damen, war angenehm und diskret. Insgesamt war der Abend im Bel Etage eine gute Erfahrung, um einen Einblick in die gehobene Schweizer Küche zu gewinnen. Und das Konzept des Hauses ist,ohnehin so interessant, dass sich ein Abstecher in jedem Fall lohnt."

"at this year's art basel, the tibits were represented with a very large catering area. just before we wanted to leave the messailämde, I dared another last attempt to get to a vegan piece of cake. on the rest of the ground, it was, unfortunately, totally forgiven. fortunately, the tibits offered not only a vegan cake but also three different. we had the choice between a brownie, blondie and a passionfruit cheesecake. because the cheesecake was overlooked with an irresistible passions facial glaze, we couldn't change and let the brownies and blondiea lie this time. the cake then also tasted wonderfully for passions fruit, unfortunately, the consistency of the "cheese "filling was not ideal (has already quite better) and the cake was also somewhat watery. the floor disgusting had the ideal consistency and a slightly salty taste, which I felt in combination with the sweet passion fruit as very pleasant."

"Overall, my evening at the Basel Brewery was very pleasant. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating, which made the visit particularly pleasant. The Wiener Schnitzel was good, the French fries were a bit too dry, so one star was deducted from the meal. But in combination with the extremely successful wine from the selection of open wines, the evening could be considered a success. In short, I would like to come back, especially because of the friendly staff and the cozy atmosphere."

"Wir haben kurzfristig einen Tisch reserviert für einen Freitag Abend. Erst hiess es bei Reservierung, wir hätten nur eine Stunde Zeit zum Essen Worauf wir dann meinten, dass wir dann anderweitig schauen würden. Daraufhin war es kein Problem, länger zu bleiben. Vor Ort hatten wir allerdings erst das Gefühl, dass man uns ganz schnell wieder loswerden wollte. Bestellen ging ohne Probleme, aber wir hatten kaum die Vorspeise aufgegessen, kam unsere Hauptspeise (frische Pappardelle mit Gambas) schon an den Tisch. Bruschetta und Pappardelle waren sehr fein. Wir haben noch ein Dessert genommen, was die Erwartungen allerdings nicht erfüllt hat. Gesamtfazit: Das Da Gianni ist auf jeden Fall einer der besseren Italiener in Basel und wir kommen gerne wieder."

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich auch die äusserst aufmerksame und sehr freundliche Servicefachfrau, die den ganzen Abend für uns da war.Der Gastgeber Herr Sp. hatte für uns ein Viergang-Menu zubereitet. Dieses war schmackhaft und auf dem Teller fürs Auge schön hergerichtet.Wir durften bei feinem Essen und Trinken einen gemütlichen Abend verbringen."

"Wir haben das 8 Gang Menu am Abend genossen. Das Servicepersonal ist zuvorkommend, sehr sympathisch und trotz Professionalität humorvoll was uns sehr gefallen hat. Man kann zwischen einem 8 und 12 Gang Menu auswählen auf Wünsche wird aber sehr gut eingegangen (kein Fisch, 9 statt 8 Gänge, Gänge wechseln; alles kein Problem) Das Menu konnte uns leider nur zum Teil überzeugen was aber sicherlich Geschmackssache ist! Alles war sehr schön angerichtet und die meistens Sachen haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Bei den Sache die uns nicht gepasst haben, lag es sicher mehr an unserem eigenen Geschmack als an der Qualität oder Zubereitung. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen würden aber wegen dem Esse nicht wiederkommen. Das Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert, hier denke ich muss sich aber jeder sein eigenes Bild mache. Essen ist ja bekanntlich Geschmackssache und Geschmack kann sehr unterschiedlich sein. Das Ambiete im Garten war zauberhaft und wir haben den Sommerabend in vollen Zügen genossen. M&AC"

"I really did not have a good experience. We had to wait 1 hour for our food and there were only two other tables. We did see a lot of home deliveries coming in and out. The staff disappears after your order is taken and does not ask for anything. There was one guy working with a mask on but with the nose out. Then the whole “safety” is a bit useless? Since our server did not talk to us i had to walk over to them and say that my food was to spicy (ordered not spicy . The new one i got tasted just like they added a whole load of cream. The whole spinach taste was gone. Then when we complained about the whole experience the owner came (also because they put 2 naan on the bill, we just ordered one . He started a whole discussion about that we should have seen that there were two portions (is he serious? . Then i said well the food was also not good and we waited an hour. He explained that its normal to wait long for butter chicken (ordered by my boyfriend and that he was full the day before and even though people wait long they enjoy it (not my problem or my life . Whole story about guest is king (he made me feel super uncomfortable . I asked 5 times to just leave it (he kept talking about himself . In total, very expensive, long waiting, not good experience. Please in these corona times treat your guest like you say “as kings”. Going to a restaurant should be a nice and happy and special experience!"

"I just tried the yufka/dürüm. I am still blown away by its phenomenal meat quality. It is made by only rib-eye Steaks, no minced meat, no chicken scam. Real döner with layers of meat instead of minced garbage. I tried them all in Basel. If you don't give a damn about the quality, you will find alot of döners in Basel. If you look for quality, you must visit this one. I highly recommend taking a Döner-plate or the meat in a kebab bread. I am so conviced by its quality, i order yoghurtsauce on the side. Fairly, i mostly will not use them. Best Quality in Town. And very polite staff members."

"An einem sonnigen Abend um 18.00 Uhr besuchten wir mit grosser Vorfreude das Restaurant rostiger Anker.Obwohl wir eine Tischreservation getätigt hatten, war nur ein kleiner Tisch beim Eingang oder dann ein Tisch ohne Sonnenschirm zur Auswahl. Obwohl wir nachfragten, war es nicht möglich, einen Sonnenschirm zu bekommen, da es ganz leicht windete. Ich bin enttäuscht über diesen Zustand, es gab leider kein Alternativangebot der Gastgeber. Ich kann dieses Restaurant leider nicht weiterempfehlen."
