"Since I can't travel, I'm catching up on reviews of some of my favorite places when I am wandering. I attended a large work dinner at one of the restaurants in Der teufelhof. There were about 20 of us, and it was that lovely time of year in Europe where heatwaves are constant. Our dinner was outdoors, and the staff did everything in their power to make us comfortable against something that was completely out of their control (the HEAT)! They brought out extra fans, constantly supplied us with water, and made sure our wines stayed chilled, which was a huge effort itself. The courses were delicious, and extra points to the restaurant for accommodating me for every course with gluten free--even the bread basket! The seabream was a great offering w/the heat even with the sweetness of the fish. The rhubarb tart for dessert was PERFECT bc it helped cool me down, and I may or may not have stolen the dessert of the person to the left and right of me. The ambiance is casual, but you're in Switzerland, so ya gotta be a little polished. The dinner was fun, the staff was very accommodating, and I can only imagine how much hotter they were than us since they were on their feet and actively working."

"The service was friendly and the pizza is the best I had in Switzerland and very tasty, maybe just a little too charred for my liking. The price of the pizza is very high, but the worst area is the drinks. 5.50CHF for one bottle of coke and I think 3.50CHF for tap water! I would have been more than happy to tip the waiter if I didn’t find the tap water price so crazy. The toilets also require some improvement, the tap appears broken in the male toilets."

"Actually delicious, ordered often too. But the way they handled my last order was just anti-social! Ordered 2 beef soups via Uber Eats, but the soups had leaked through the box (poor packaging! and the courier and I were left at a loss... We called the restaurant and the employee told us that the courier should come again and that Delivered food promptly... The courier stopped coming... A day later I called and explained the situation... The restaurant immediately dismissed the mistake and told me to take an Uber myself... Well yes, of course now the food is in the bin, I can't register a case with Uber Eats and I have to hand over my 60.00 as a donation to the two crook companies. No more!"

"Typisches italienisches Essen, viel Auswahl: einfachere, bekanntere aber auch spezielle, gehobenere Gerichte. Auch Vegis finden sehr feine verschiedene Dinge zur Auswahl. Das Essen war aussergewöhnlich gut! Wir hatten die besten Linguine alle Vongole, die wir in Basel bisher gegessen haben. Auch die hausgemachten Capelletti nach Tagesangebot mit Trüffel waren ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus. Das Dessert ebenfalls super und sehr schön angerichtet.Der Service war einwandfrei, sehr aufmerksam und schnell, dazu sehr freundlich und herzlich, gastfreundlich, humorvolle Bedienung. Man fühlt sich wunderbar aufgehoben. Uns wurde ein sehr feiner Wein aus dem unteren Preissegment der Karte empfohlen.Die Preise sind verhältnismässig eher hoch, aber angesichts der Qualität absolut in Ordnung."

"Tasty Indian restaurant that serves every mouth. I have received recommendation from my South Indian neighbors that Bayleaf is the favorite Indian restaurant and they’ve ordered food for parties. I love Malai kofta, ever since my Indian feiend Made it for me. I learned to maue it myself watching the online recipe, but I wanted to try how Bayleaf makes them. So I ordered for lunch along with Shrimp dish. Conclusions: they really maue food Mild in order to adjust to the spice level of the locals I guess. I’ve never had such a mild Indian food as I’ve been mostly served Indian food from my Indian friends. The food was good, but if you want yo have not the creamiest Europeanized curry, better inform them to make them spicy. I was also surprised that Malai kofta had no visible Pander in it. It was potatoes with pistachios and raisins. Again maybe Europeanizing the dish to look more local German food. I liked my friend’s kofta full of punch if flavors and textures with cashew, raisins and elasticity from paneer. I was also surprised about yellow Malawi kofta Sauce and the waiter brought me a bit of butter chicken so I can enjoy the sauce Im more User to. That was very nice."

"Friendly and courteous service! Quite good food, very similar to the best of pho places in Silicon Valley. One unique thing here is that the noodle itself tastes sweet even though the broth was made spicier with their side pepper. The spring roll and the source were good also. I particularly liked the strong flavor from mint and other herb in the spring roll. Debated whether to give a 4 or 5 stars rating because of the price (21 CHF) for a simple (but good) pho whose portion is about 2/3 of that in California. Ultimately, decided to give 5 stars for the food, service and cleanliness (ambiance is good too) and not fault the restaurant for the general poor price/portion trend in Switzerland. Connoisseurs of Vietnamese food, I think, would enjoy. As you see, the menu cover was simple but creative. I enjoyed it."

"Das Rhywyera ist wunderschön direkt am Rhein in Kleinbasel gelegen (von der Schifflände zu Fuss in 3 4 Minuten über die mittlere Brücke wobei man auch mit dem Tram über den Rhein fahren kann). Im Sommer kann man draussen auf der Rheinseite sitzen ohne Verkehrslärm. Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Die Preise sind für die sehr gute zentrale Lage auch OK (knapp über 30 CHF für das Mittagsmenü mit Fisch und Getränk). Coronaregeln werden strikt befolgt (die Tische sind durch Hartplastik voneinander getrennt, das Personal trägt strikt Maske)."

"Wir waren alle noch nie da und freuten uns auf ein tolles Essen ! Wir wurden aber alle masslos entäuscht ! Wir emfanden den ganzen Services wie eine Abfertigung ! Das Essen war schlichtweg schlecht ! Wir hatten alle Pasta Gerichte , das kann jede Hausfrau besser ! Wir bestellten ein teueren Rotwein , der wurde serviert wie Bier ! Was uns am meisten verstört und wundert sind all diese Leute die ja so etwas von begeistert sind von dieser Kult Beiz !Da frage ich mich , was essen diese Leute denn sonst ?!? Wir waren auf jeden Fall das erste und letzte mal da !"

"We visited this place with my wife and our infant. There were many free tables without a reservation sign and a few that were reserved. We saw a free table for four persons which would suit us, because we needed the extra space for the baby wagon and also my wife would have the privacy she needed to nurse our baby. I asked the waitress (Chefin) if we could sit there and she showed me another table for two persons. The answer was not clear and I didn 't understand if it was just a recommendation. We instead sat on our chosen table for four persons. The waitress then came and said we must change tables because this table wasn 't available. So we took our seats on the 2 person table. After around 20 minutes I see a couple coming from the inside and sitting on the 4 person table which we originally preferred. I was very surprised because the waitress told us this table was not available. I asked a waiter how come this couple sat at this table and he said it was not his decision but the decision of his boss (Chefin headwaitress) and we should talk with her. Anyways then the waiter comes back and says that this couple had a reservation. I reply that this table didn 't have a reserved sign and that it looked like they were searching for a table outside. He replied that they did not have a reservation for this table but that they had a reservation inside and they went to sit outside because of the sun. So to sum it up: Table was NOT reserved. We tried to sit and told it 's not available . Couple comes from the inside after 15 20 minutes and just sits at the supposedly unavailable table. So I and my wife are very disappointed and frustrated from the service. We have never experienced such a cold, disrespectful and clearly unfair behavior in a restaurant until now. The fact that they didn 't even try to accommodate a family of a nursing mother her baby makes it even worse. Completely unacceptable, and plain sad. Besides that, the food was very tasty. But this treatment we had from the headwaitress ruined our stay there. So if you just look for a nice meal, you can visit this place. But if you really want to feel warm welcomed in a restaurant, this is the worst place to go to."

"Das Restaurant ist einfach eingerichtet und hat auch Kunst, die als Dekoelemente dient, zu bieten. Das Personal war recht freundlich und angenehm. Ich wurde gut für das Menü beraten.Die Speisen waren äussert schön präsentiert und schmeckten recht gut. Der Apéro ein Gin mit Matcha Tonic und Limettensaft schmeckte ausgezeichnet, gefolgt von einer Buddha Bowl die wunderbar überzeugend abgestimmt und auch stimmig präsentiert. Als Hauptgang wählte ich das Hirschentrecôte mit Rotkraut und Spätzli, nun mir war das Fleisch gerade ein bisschen zu wenig durch, geschmeckt hats aber ausgezeichnet. Das Rotkraut konnte mich überhaupt mich überzeugen, irgendeine Zutat war mir zu viel enthalten und das störte mich im Gaumen. Beim Dessert einer Feigen Tarte Tatin stimmte die Kombination aus Biskuit, Feigen und Eis, schade war dass der Blätterteigboden nur am Rand noch knusprig war, der Rest war nur ein weiches etwas an Teig.Das Essen schmeckte alles in allem sehr gut, wobei es bei den einzelnen Zutaten noch ein bisschen optimierungsbedarf gibt.Der Aufenthalt war angenehm, ich persönlich würde nicht sofort wiederkommen, bin aber auch nicht abgeneigt wieder einmal schauen zu kommen was sich geändert hat."

"...die Zubereitungen sind immer saisonal und wie oben erwähnt frisch. Auf dem ersten Blick ersichtlich und immer auch ein Augenschmauss. Dem Koch Denis und seiner Mannschaft gelingt es immer wieder aus einem Mahl ein Festmahl herzuzaubern, unglaublich. Die Kreationen sind immer wieder spannend, ob Fisch, Fleisch oder die selbstgemachten Teigwaren. Das Dessert rundet das Ganze wieder herrlich ab. Der Geschäftsführer, ebenfalls Denis, und sein Servicepersonal harmoniert grossartig miteinander und man fühlt sich wirklich sehr wohl in dieser Atmosphäre. Ich habe dieses Restaurant am ersten Tag (April 2020 nach dem ersten Lockdown kennengelernt und war fasziniert. In der Zwischenzeit war ich sicherlich 30 Mal dort essen (mit Freunden, Geschäftleuten und Familie....."

"Normalerweise kommt er rund wieder... Aber hier gibt es 80 cm lange Pizzen, die man klein 15 cm oder große 25 cm bekommt. Was ich persönlich nicht so mag: wenn Pizzen aufgewärmt werden. Hier wird nichts à-la-minute zubereitet sondern es ist fertig da und man sucht sich die Pizza und die Größe aus. Danach kommt die Pizza nochmals in den Ofen. Schade um die frischen Basilikumblätter, die dann verbrennen. Wenn man danach wieder frische Blätter raufmacht wäre es ja o.k. Der hausgemachte Eistee war sehr gut. Dort war aber das frische Basilikum-Blatt drin, das ich mir auf der Pizza gewünscht hätte. Die Dosen mit dem Besteck erinnern sehr an Jamie Oliver. Die Preise sind o.k., wenn man beispielsweise die Pizzen aus dem Migros vergleicht. Aber hier schmecken sie eben sehr frisch. Etwas Unsicherheit besteht beim Namen: VITO for Ladies and Gentlemen erinnert eher an einen Friseur... und Pizza Bros. passt besser, aber man fand den Ausdruck nur auf der Auslage."

"It was a great pleasure to eat in the brasserie. We chose the four course menu, which was very well prepared. From the service to the quality of the food, everything was perfect. Unfortunately, a star has to be deducted because the first course only arrived about 30-35 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately there was no greeting from the kitchen, as is usual. Maybe something has changed there. All in all, it was an interesting culinary experience, as you can easily see from the pictures. We definitely recommend the brasserie and would be happy to come back. "We ate for the first time in this restaurant, on the ground floor, where the servers were super friendly. The second time, we had not booked and asked if there was still a table for two. The waiter motions for us to follow him upstairs and places us at a table for 4 people. The second server then tells us that two other customers may come and sit at the same table as us. We politely responded that we don't necessarily want to be sitting at the same table with people we don't know. The waiter replied: “Have you made a reservation? No ! You can therefore leave the table if it does not suit you, other customers will take your place. » What a way to talk to customers…. In short, we stayed and the food was good but the behavior of the waiter needs to be reviewed!"

"Wir waren im Juni letzten Jahres zu Gast in der Hasenburg.Leider hat uns der Aufenthalt nicht so gut gefallen, wie in den Jahren zuvor. Corona-bedingt konnten wir nur in einem recht späten Zeitfenster einen Tisch reservieren. Pünktlich angekommen konnte man unser Reservierung zunächst nicht finden.Verwunderlich, hatte ich zwei tage zuvor noch mit einem Mitarbeiter telefoniert und die Reservierung bestätigen lassen.Zum Zeitpunkt unserer Ankunft waren nicht alle Tische im Innenhof besetzt. So haben wir nach einer kurzen Diskussion dann doch noch einen Tisch auf Terrasse erhalten. Die zuständige Mitarbeiterin war nicht wirklich freundlich und sehr wortkarg.Unsere Bestellung wurde aufgenommen. Kein freundliches Wort, keine Empfehlung für ein Tagesgericht, nur die gerade notwendige Konversation wurde getätigt. Die Vorspeise hatte eine ungewöhnliche Konsistenz . Ihr Geschmack war keinesfalls von frischen Tomaten geprägt. Die Entscheidung -auf meine Empfehlung hin- ein Rösti zu bestellen war ebenfalls keine gute. Die Rösti waren wenig gebräunt und schon gar nicht goldbraun . Der Käse, mit dem sie gratiniert wurden, war nahezu neutral im Geschmack. Die Portion so mächtig, dass wir nicht mehr als gerade die Hälfte der Rösti essen konnten. Danach waren wir mehr als gesättigt.Die Hasenburg hatte wir als eine Restaurant in Erinnerung, in dem man gehobene, gut-bürgerliche Speisen genießen kann.Wie unser wenig erfreulicher Besuch im Zusammenhang einzuordnen ist können wir nicht beurteilen.Vielleicht haben wir einfach nur Pech gehabt."
