"We called here for lunch and sat outside. The food was tasty, the drinks were served nice and hot and it was all good value. The selection of food was okay (not a huge selection but not exactly limited). Cakes looked amazing but we were too full to order any.One thing I found really great was the children’s picnic box. Having had a terrible experience elsewhere last week in being charged way too much for a picnic box which was quite honestly terrible; Notcutts provided something above expectations. For less than you get a choice of sandwich served on soft, homemade bread, a bag of Pom-Bears or mini cheddars (your choice), a choice of fruit (we went for grapes which they had cut in half (bonus points here for extra thought/care), a small cake or jelly (again, your choice) and a drink of your choice (decent selection including fresh, organic juice). This wasn’t the cheapest picnic box we’ve ever had but was reasonably priced and by far the best we’ve had as far as healthy choices and selection. Oh, and no plastic packaging! The only criticism would be that service was slow. The lady taking orders was working quickly but at busier times having someone else helping to take orders would have been good. Also, the menus were placed at the till, it would have been better to have them placed further down the line so choices can be made whilst queuing rather than last minute at the till."

"From our arrival for a pre booked table the evening before, we were greeted with there is no booking in the book, from one of the girls serving, note Jill was not here tonight. The girl who should have booked it was not working Friday night, so could not be quizzed. We did see another table that was free and asked if we could take it, so told yes. We ordered some drinks and took some menus to peruse and after a while I had to ask for someone to take our order. We were told that some one would come when they had finished serving other customers there meals. Starters and mains ordered for the five of us,still no one came with the cutlery, so I went to get some,as the starters came, all very good, every one enjoyed them, as is the usual standards here. We waited a while for the starters to be cleared then waited and was about to go and ask if there was a problem, when at 21:30 for our mains to arrive much too long from arriving at 20:00. Then after eating our mains it was really too late to concider any deserts.Once again the food quality was very good and all enjoyed their meals. Asked when we came to pay if everything was alright we said it was not, we thought waiting for one and a half hours was way too long. No apologies given. We noticed that the kitchen seemed to be light on staff this night, also the girls serving seemed much too pre occupied with their phones than on customer service. Jill was not in attendance this evening, as we have noticed previously standards do seem to drop when she is not there. This is real shame as this evening was booked on our recommendation and fell short on the experience we were expecting. Hence our friends do not wish pay again for a similar experience. If there was an underlying issue, nothing was explained and no apologies given. Come on Jill we know you are capable of maintaining the high standards we have come to know."

"Not a disability friendly cafe ! If your disabled, I 'd advise not going ! My 2 daughters went for a day out to watch the plains and get some lunch ! They didn 't know they at to book, which is fine and we 're told they could sit outside and order drinks and cake, absolutely fine ! So.....my youngest daughter has high functioning autism, looks just like Mr and you but has autism and high anxiety, so getting her to agree to go out takes alot of planning and talking. Get her to go BUT has to take her own packed lunch, now many will say 'you can 't take your own food to a cafe '....fully understand BUT when a staff member approaches them and infront of other customers and embarrassed them telling them she can 't eat her packed lunch (child with packed lunch), I find absolutely disgusting! 1...don 't embarrass them infront of people 2...maybe find out if there 's a reason why a child has taken her own packed lunch ! 3...not every disability is visual ! MAYBE STAFF TRAINING TO BE MORE POLITE MAYBE STAFF TRAINING TO THINK THERE MIGHT BE A REASON WHY THAT CHILD IS EATING HER OWN PACKED LUNCH ! absolutely disgusted in this place for now making my autistic daughter feel beyond anxious and now as her parent, who has spend days talking to her about going here (to watch the planes) now has to spend the next how ever long reassuring her it 's fine to leave the house again and try something different. So Thank-you APRON cafe for being so kind and understanding and for embarrassing 2 young girls who had innocently gone for a little day out !"

"I’ve given a 2 purely due to the place and views were beautiful. However the service me, my husband, friends and family received was appalling. To start off with it was a complete nightmare to get hold of our wedding coordinator Danielle. Secondly on the day started amazingly, we had for our sit down meal an afternoon. Which we had paid £26 per head, which didn’t come out as per head it had to be shared between 3/4 people. The sandwiches were tiny and dry, quiches had no flavour and the smallest amount of sausage roll. After our sit down meal they wanted everyone to clear the room so my mum and stepdad wanted A photo in the back drop with me and my husband, there were drinks from the drinks package and brought drinks on the table the waitresses threw them away we were only 20 feet from them, the waitress was extremely rude to my mum when she spoke to them. So when I spoke to Danielle about this matter it just turn into an argument. Then was replaced! Then our evening meal we paid for a bbq £25.50 per head and again the food was definitely not value for money the chicken and burgers were dry and tough! To the point most guest didn’t eat them! One of my guests asked for cheese in her burgers and was told no that’s all they get! The only food that was nice on the evening menu was the sausages!! The staff were rude and walked round with miserable faces, the only staff I can compliment are the bar staff they were lovely and very helpful. I feel extremely gutted about how this was considering the amount of money we paid and to be fair that is all they think about. I spoke with the manager Dominic they next day on the phone and all he could offer was a bottle of bubbly or some beers. My special day just didn’t feel as special as it should have no one checked if anything was okay or how good was."
