"I stopped by for a coffee and cake after a long walk, and the staff were so delightful that I returned for their Friday Pizza night. Both the cake and the pizza were fantastic, and the coffee was excellent as well. Being dog-friendly was the icing on the cake! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff even shared some tips on local places to explore. I will definitely make it a point to come back the next time I'm in the area."

"Had a meal here thinking it would still be the same great food but unfortunately they changed hands and managed by new people.The food wasn't very nice. There wasn't much portions for the value of your money. It felt like you are just paying for an empty plate Sat on a cold table.We used to like coming here a lot but we will not be returning any more witch is very sad. We will go elsewhere for our meals and get good value for are money and tasty food What is wrong with the (Lansdown Arms) Don't get value for money in the food. Some items was not available on the menu. Overpriced. Portions of food not enough off."

"The restaurant was very clean and the decor was beautiful. Although we had booked we were shown to our table which sadly was not laid up for us. We were not asked if we had any allergies. When our food came we had to ask for cutlery. The starters bread was pre spread and the bread looked like ordinary shop sliced brown bread. We chose steak but had no steak knife . We were not offered any condiments. We had a gift voucher for a Sunday Lunch but it was not clear if this was for the 2 or 3 course meal and when we enquired the staff were unsure and did not seem to know or how to check. We were told it was ‘probably for the 2course meal’. We both felt that the staff serving our food were not very attentive and lacked good customer, they did not smile their body language was not open. I particularly felt they we were in the way. We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menus but not asked if we wanted anything else. We asked for a coffee and tea and then had to ask if we could sit in the lounge area. The bar staff and receptionists and the young lady that welcomed us in the dinneing area, Rosie’ or a name similar was very polite and engaging."

"Pricy venue, poor service and dated decor don't help what could be a fantastic venue with a bit of love and customer care. Nearby activities: Golf course is long and the rough impossible, we lost countless balls in the rough, it is far too punishing and should be maintained to make it possible to not only fund balls but also to enable you to play from what are currently impossible lies. Suggest avoiding until the rough has benn mothballed."
