"Took my little one and wife to celebrate her birthday with a hopeful lovely Sunday roast after some fruit picking round the corner. Pub is lovely in design and pleasant to sit in and relax but unfortunately for our experience that's where the pleasantries started to fizzle out. Orders were taken quickly which we were pleased with however starters took roughly 40 minutes to appear and a further 40 minutes to receive the main courses, people had entered after us, ordered and exited before we'd even managed to get round to our main course. Pub was quiet at this point in time which caught us even more by surprise. We'd both ordered the sunday roasts and were chomping at the bit to get stuck into them but unfortuantely flavour was lacking, which for the price, really took us by surprise. The slow service on top of the what tasted like a watered down roast (gravy was very runny and watery) meant we didn't enjoy our experience. With some concentration on table service, clear communication if things are running behind and some tweaks to the food this has potential but unfortuantely we had a poor experience. The waitress did apologise for the experience but not sure the slow kitchen service was entirely her fault."

"a few weeks ago visited here with some friends staff were very helpful attentive. the order on an app makes it easier and easier when they are friends so that was helpful! cocktails were delicious, looked super very strong so definitiw worth. the price! chips were very sad that we didn't get the nachos because they looked good on the table next to us! slider were nice, but the chickens were a little dry, the brot was very soggy, but aromen were great! main criticism would be that they have to pay for kondiments!? I've never been to a sit down restaurant for a pot mayonnaise had to pay to have my chips? to the point where I have forgotten to order one with my original order, I had to order it with the waitress that brought the card machine for me to pay 60p for 2 pots mayo on the table. I just thought that was very strange as in the rule that something that is part of the meal is like cute serviettes. the atmosphere was great, but eating was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday night pretty busy so can't blame that!"

"On the strength of a trip advisor Email received this morning my wife and I decided to brighten up a miserable day by taking afternoon tea.The place is very tastefully decorated and fitted out with a small retail section and a quality Deli section.Local produce featured prominently.The staff were very attentive and friendly obviously enjoying their work.Although not a restaurant as such a good range of café/tea room meals were available.The scones were the best I have had in Leicestershire !! There is a good selection of greeting cards with excellent graphics and obviously carefully scourced.The same applies to the small range of gifts which were reasonably priced.A little Gem and a valuable enterprise which is obviously doing well.Power to your Elbow !!!"

"I regularly go to Lara’s and usually receive good customer service. However, tonight the service was poor and the staff was awfully rude! Tonight I ordered my food and I clearly stated my sea bass to be with rice due to me being allergic to potatoes I repeated myself three times on the phone and the lady repeated it to me. My daughter in law collected the order and when I opened my food I had chips and my sea bass was overcooked. The Turkish bread was burnt and I hadn’t received my salad or sauce. My son and daughter in law also ordered mixed kebabs and they had 5 pieces of skinny meat and hardly any chips. I called the restaurant to see if they could do anything and the ‘manager’ was very rude telling me ‘’there is nothing she could do about it darling’’. She was very rude and proceed to call me a liar and continued to say I didn’t state what I wanted with my sea bass! I returned the food to the restaurant and the staff was very rude again! The man cooking the food told me his staff wasn’t rude and to lower my voice he chucked my money at me and told me to leave his shop. All I wanted was a apology not to be called a liar I will not be returning due to the poor customer service and quality of the food on my last few visits."

"Meet 'n ' Eat have moved down the road. They are located under the Co-op, and they have done.a fantastic job in creating a great place to eat, or just have a coffee. They have free WiFi and some tables have charging/usb sockets. Food is lovely and great value, staff very friendly and welcoming. Credit to all involved. Keep smiling"

"This was my first and last visit. I ordered a burrito, and the experience was terrible. The lady who took my order was extremely rude. When I asked to remove the rice I initially chose, she rudely threw it away, with most of it ending up on the floor. She then opened a new burrito, filled it with meat, and didn’t even ask if I wanted any veggies or other toppings. Everything she added, like the jalapeños, was placed haphazardly and all on one side. The burrito tasted bad, and the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Absolutely disappointing."

"When you see a restaurant called the Grill House, your brain conjures up meals consisting of steak and various other meats. Not the case here! My husband is vegetarian and we stumbled across this restaurant by accident. After reading the menu, we were very pleasantly surprised. A great choice of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes,with a middle eastern theme, some of which are Middle Eastern. My husband ordered a falafel wrap and I ordered a batata harra wrap (potato) both were very tasty and much bigger portion sizes than we expected. We also ordered a portion of fries each which we struggled to eat one between us would have been plenty. What we weren't expecting was the lentil soup to start, compliments of the house, which was very tasty. The service was very good, the menu varied it was excellent value for money and we will definitely be going back."

"By far the best burger take away in the Midlands. I have eaten from here more than 20 times and never once had a bad meal. I have just traveled from Mandfield to Syston with excitement knowing I was going to eat from Sizzler again for the first time in nearly a year. I have dined on burgers all over Europe and this restaurant is in my top 3 for a quality burger. Five Guys isnt even in my top 10 for comparison."

"We had travelled up for a wedding and were staying at the Premier Inn round the corner. Happened to coincide with the England semi-final in the Euros so the place was rammed. Despite being rushed off their feet with food and drink orders the staff were really attentive and friendly. Pizzas were great too. Friendly atmosphere, couldn't fault it."

"I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life, I was out dining with my sister to be sat next to a group of individuals who constantly made sexual references towards us throughout our time there. I had to request to move table. The staff were then insistent in confronting the man who made the sexual remarks towards me who even attempted to kick me at one point and ‘sort him out’, I said this was unnecessary as I just wanted to have a nice night and avoid awkwardness. I was told it was his restaurant and he had to sort it out. We were then confronted by the male who was making sexual remarks and he actually sat with us whilst we were eating when I told him I didn’t want him there. This really ruined the night and was exactly what I was trying to avoid. He then accused us of lying and made us even more uncomfortable. Management then chose to ignore this and allowed it to happen! So much for ‘sorting it out’. Because of this, we then ate as quickly as possible to avoid anymore confrontation and conflict. As we walked out the door the same group of rude men shouted at us! Unfortunate as the food was great but will not be returning after being made to feel like this."

"Went in for breakfast and ordered two bacon and egg sandwiches but asked if the bread could be toasted. I checked the bill and I was charged for a toastie, in essence I was charged an extra £4 to have 4 slices of bread toasted, bit steep and when I questioned it was told, that’s what we do and that’s that. Not the best customer service by any of the staff."

"I would have never had known about this hidden gem until taking a boat trip on the river soar with friends. Strange place to get to, down a very narrow winding lane. Absolutely stunning location! Overlooking the marina plus great outdoor seating . The inside is also very pleasant. The menu isn’t huge but all cooked fresh- two of our ladies had steak apparently it was delicious!/some had fish chips and other choices. All came at the same time, which is important, butthe downside is we did have to wait quite a while despite pre ordered. We arrived at 1pm had drinks but did not eat until 1.50pm when we all were starving hungry But we must say, it was well worth the long wait Great place for lunch with friends, and the service is brilliant. thank you all so much Also a fab place for a morning coffee, and delicious scone. Looking forward to visiting again shortly"

"I visited the pub with my child who chose it because it had a bouncy castle in Hathern. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the experience. I ordered food at the bar while my friend stayed with our children at the table where we were given menus. I placed my order first, but my friend was told she would have to wait for an hour. The staff did not communicate this wait time beforehand, causing our party to be separated. The food I received was frozen and overpriced. The starters I ordered were small and unappetizing, not freshly made. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. When we ordered desserts, we requested them to be brought to the garden, which again seemed like a lot to ask for. Despite these issues, my son enjoyed his food, the bouncy castle, and play equipment in the garden. However, we had to leave quickly as the garden started smelling of weed."

"My boyfriend I visited on a Saturday evening. We ordered a few starters and mains to share, all of the food was exceptional, the flavours were very authentic and it was all served hot and fresh. The Phad Thai was made gluten free...as per our request. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only downfall and reason why I didn’t give them stars is because we waited an hour for our food, and the starters and mains all came at the same time. We will definitely be back to try more from the menu. Hopefully we won’t have to wait as long for the food to arrive."

"We ate here on an evening and left feeling fairly underwhelmed. Let me tell you... We were greeted upon entry with a warm welcome, but the restaurant lacked any real atmosphere or feeling you are in for a treat. The menu was on a QR code which is never great for the menu browsers among us. I like to scour the options before I make my choice, but scrolling through a website to see what to order just put me right off from the start. We then see shortly afterwards, menus given to other customers how odd, maybe we looked like QR code type people! We ordered food, and it was nothing special from start to finish. Cook from frozen calamari which was a little greasy, and olives that were of the cheap variety. Mains that were fairly run of the mill, although the pizza was apparently 'nice ' according to the other half. Pasta sauce that wouldn 't jump out in a crowd and bruschetta that was fine, but not value for money. Drinks wise, half a pint of Peroni was £3.95 which is fairly steep. No wine menu was given again, check the QR code and scroll to see the wine, quite honesty, very annoying having to do so hence we didn 't order wine. Certainly not worth the wait, the cost or our time popping in here. Not a complete disaster however by any means the host was polite if not a little quirky, and the female server was busy, if not somewhat stiff. My recommendation would be to pop some classic Italian tunes on in the background for atmosphere, menus for every table, lose the somewhat stark table dressing and look to offer your customers a true Italian experience. Overall, I 'd give the restaurant a 2.9 out of 5. I am not sure I 'll be rushing back anytime soon."

"We visited with friends this time but we are regulars sometimes as a couple and other times with family. Food is always consistent and very tasty too. Decent choice on the menu, reasonable choice of gluten friendly dishes too. If the weathers nice it’s great to sit outside and watch the boats and swans go by and people going through the lock outside. Family friendly on sunny days with bouncy castle (not too close to the tables so not intrusive) and you can also hire kayaks etc for a trip down the river. Service is friendly and it’s rare to wait for anything highly recommended but I recommend you book because it’s popular and gets busy even on weekday lunches!"

The staff are attentive and respectful. The food, service and atmosphere is 10/10. Wish I could give more. If you want great food and vibes, this is the place to be. Thank you to Heena, Atul and the team for accommodating to our needs and making us feel welcome every time we visit, you really do go above and beyond for us.
