"Went here tonight with family; thought we would give it a go because we enjoy Nepalese cuisine and we had read lots of good reviews. We were all really disappointed with the whole experience. Firstly, it's a bit of a dump inside: cheap, nasty, tatty and drab, plus the toilets are simply awful. Parking is inadequate and then we were greeted with a broken fridge outside the door. Next, we were served by a young teenager who was going her best but clearly new, needed a lot of support and had no refinement...employing such a youngster is never going to end well. Then, the food: what a let down. Out of the starters, the only half decent dish was the mixed tikka the chilli fish was a mound of black, greasy chunks of mess and the lamb choyla was inedible...my partner picked at it and left most. Then the mains: all underwhelming, bland and lacking any depth of flavour and clearly poor quality ingredients. Finally, we were all surprised to be served a bottle of Lidl Chenin Blanc that costs roughly £5 (and is basically naff plonk) and be charged £16.95 for it. Yet, despite everything being pretty poor, the prices are not cheap at all! We did not overindulge and yet paid £100 for three of us. Add the fact that we were sat near a table of loud, rude and foul mouthed chavs to all of the above and it won't surprise you to learn that we won't be returning! We will stick to the Himalyan Gurkha on Macklin Street which is miles ahead on all fronts."

"Attending an event at the Sub Rooms we needed some food before hand. .with VERY little choice we came across this place. It was awful from the time we sat down. A lovely young man who couldn 't speak English was really very busy tidying and delivering drinks. The man who appeared to be in charge just constantly spoke aggressively to him in a, what I assume, to be both their native language. At one point he grabbed him hard by the arm. I was very uncomfortable. I asked if we could order and the man in charge, rolled his eyes and told me soon . He went off to answer the phone, over and over and over. We finally ordered 30 minutes after sitting down. "

"I have visited Okra a few times and it always exceeds my expectations. The early bird menu offers great value for money. During my most recent visit, I started with a vegetable platter and then enjoyed a delicious and piping hot chicken bhuna. The garlic and cheese nan bread was absolutely delicious. I also recommend trying the lamb chops starter, as they were beautifully cooked. The staff at Okra are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. If you find yourself in Derby, be sure to make a stop at this restaurant."

"This was my second visit to Thai Boran. I wasn't overwhelmed during my first visit although I did like the decor and displays. I found the food a bit mediocre and nothing too special. I decided to visit again to give the place the benefit of doubt. The food was a lot better and the Thai green curry was tasty enough. However. I was absolutely disgusting to find on receiving the bill I was charged £9 for 2 pints of squash and soda! £4.50 a pint for lime and soda! That is nothing more than an absolutely disgusting rip off! What made it worse was the fact 10% service charge was added to the bill! £5.40 for bringing the food to the table. That is also disgusting. I was not previously charged a service charge and don't think one should ever be added. Needless to say I will not be returning to this restaurant and I will done at the other Thai restaurant around the corner in future."

"Took my mum for a savoury afternoon tea today to celebrate her finishing chemo treatment and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. "We recently tried this restaurant for the first time using Just Eat. Our order was scheduled to arrive at but it came early, which was fantastic. We ordered around and were impressed with the delicious, hot, and high-quality meal. Our kids enjoyed it as well! We even received complimentary prawn crackers and cans of soda with our order. The delivery charge and Just Eat fee were reasonable. The total cost for our family of was satisfactory. The fortune cookies were a hit with my children. We will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again. The ribs were excellent and all of the dishes were tasty and well-prepared."

"came in around 5pm as table for 2. staff not fully trained on how to deal with the covid track and trace regards checking in or taking details.was made to wait 15 minutes to wait for 4 bottles of beer even though we were the only poeple in there! on entering, plenty of staff sitting eating there staff food on the tables having there social time. i was told off by this very young man who I think was supposed to be some kind of manager.... its very simple sir, you had the drinks order get them to the table so we have something to drink instead of making us wait a stupid amount of time for you to simply put olives out on a plate! check the cctv if you dont agree! wednesday 7th only customers in!! as it got later, more tables around us, particluarly couples who were waiting for drinks also.I will never come back again, and thats for all the outlets if you employ low trained kids who dont have the passion for service, you will keep losing money.once we did get our food, the lady waitress was nice and did a sufficient job.all in all, not good! and plenty more on the doorstep."

"I have been going to this restaurant for years for special occasions, and it has always been fantastic. However, on my last visit for a first date, things went completely wrong. We ordered two different steak meals, each with a different cooking style and sauce. When the meals arrived, they had the wrong sauces and were cooked incorrectly. I spoke to the manager about the issue, but it led to an awkward situation. I asked for the meals to be prepared correctly, but was told that mine would then be cold. Instead of replacing the meals, we ended up accepting what we were given. This disastrous experience ruined my first date and I ended up paying over £89 for it. It was definitely not a Marc Pierre moment. Since then, I have taken my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, as I used to really enjoy this restaurant before this incident."

"This is a review of an eat in meal. The price of the food suggested it was going to be good, because it isn’t cheap . I have eaten here twice. The first time, I had an English cooked breakfast. That was pretty poor. Cheap ingredients . But I figured it might be because they don’t specialise in full English breakfasts, so I decided to call in again and have a desi special breakfast and desi tea. Very disappointing. Basically oily scrambled eggs with peppers and things in it, plus baked beans and a dry roti type flat bread. Nothing to justify the £6.50 price. Desi tea , pointless and not very nice for £1.50. Just disappointing. They seem very busy with takeaway delivery orders. Perhaps that is where they concentrate. But I don’t think I’ll give that a try."

"We are regular customers of Scoops and usually order through JustEat or UberEats without any issues. However, this time we decided to pay cash and ordered directly from the store. Despite calling twice, we did not receive an apology for the slow service. We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for our 4 desserts, which is the longest wait we've ever experienced. It was late on a Sunday night, and we have ordered at that time before without any problems. We recommend ordering through JustEat or UberEats for faster service."

"Let me start by saying the 2 members of staff at the half moon where very friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about what had happened and did their best to try and make what was a complete disaster a little bit better. However it is very disappointing when someone had taken the time to arrange a Christmas party for 16/17 people and when you arrive at the pub the staff don't know anything about. The party was booked at least 8 weeks previously and a cash deposit paid. We had to choose our food well before the date and our orders where given to the staff in advance. Plus the person organising the party had popped into the pub 3 days before to confirm all was sorted. But on the night there was no table set for a large christmas party and the chef had to rush across the road to the local co-op and get at least 2 big very full carrier bags of food. At this point we all knew we where not staying because it was very clear that we where not going to get the party that had been advertised. So after a good 35 mins of waiting around The manager/landlord (not sure which he was) finally came to sort the cash deposit out and gave his half hearted apologies. To be honest he really didn't seem to care what had happened which is a surprise because his pub will have lost a big chunk of money that night and the reputation of his pub will be in question now too. So it's safe to stay we won't be returning there again. We did however have a fantastic Christmas party night and lovely food at the red chilli restaurant across the road."

"My first time ever in this restaurant, the staff were very friend and paid attention to all our needs. We had food off the set menu and weren’t expecting big portions, the size of the portions was amazing and the food was of exceptional quality. We had a bottle of wine which was average price you pay when dining out, the bill was not overly expensive. It will not be my last visit would highly recommend to family and friends."

"We ordered takeout for New Year's Eve, which also happened to be my husband's 65th birthday. I must say that we have had many delicious takeout meals from this restaurant throughout the past year. However, unfortunately, this time was a huge disappointment. The onion bhajis were decent, but not as tasty as usual. The mushroom rice was okay, but the chicken tikka korma was absolutely inedible. The sauce was watery and tasted only of milk, with chicken that did not seem to be tikka. The lamb madras was also inedible, with very fatty meat and an overpowering cumin flavor in the sauce. The roti bread was raw in the middle. Everything was cold and took 45 minutes to heat up in the oven. We only took a few bites of each dish because they were so bad. Please improve the quality of your food, Viceroy, especially on special occasions like this. We will be looking for another restaurant for our next takeout order."

"I had the pleasure of visiting Grillzilla in Derby for the first time last week and I was really impressed. The burgers were absolutely delicious! The patty was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I also loved the crispy fries and the creamy milkshakes. The service was excellent as well. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure that I had a great dining experience. "nice tasty eating and nice personal and own. I fought here today after seeing it on 'rate my takeaway' and I needed lunch. normanton is hard to park, so they will remember when they go. beautiful friendly staff (uzman) and a clean restaurant, its all open plans can see how beautiful it is all and they have a 5-star hygiene. I had the no2 big hot chili mix with drink for £7, much in the box I thought it would be a lot, but it weighs a ton and I'm a fat git and still full too time when writing (5pm) many meats on the nudes and rice. it was all fresh and recently prepared, it tasted so good quality. Malaysian huh, amazingly perfect. salt pfeffer huh, nice, but not really my ding. noodles, nice, but not really delicious, I can do more beautiful noodles to house. fried rice, how to make noodles really, nice, but I can cook tastier more authentic myself. worth money? yes good size in portions? is it difficult to park near? yes, staff? friendly and helpful clean? shall I come back and give my hypothetical money to eat? I want to go back if I want a contract? yes my taste can differ from them, but either this is on my list to go back."
