"Seit längerer Abstinenz mal wieder beim Lahmen Esel gewesen. Dieses Frankfurter Apfelweinlokal überzeugt uns nun schon seit Jahrzehnten. Netter freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service, Frankfurter Küche und saisonale Angebote, ein gutes süffiges Stöffche und das alles noch preiswert und schmackhaft, was will man mehr. Trotzdem setzt der lahme Esel hier noch einen drauf: Kinderspielecke im Lokal, super familienfreundlicher Gastgarten mit kleinem geschützten Spielplatz, Kolleg und separierte Gasträume in unterschiedlichen Größen für alle erdenklichen Feieraktivitäten, Wickelkommoden in den sauberen Sanitärbereich (auch bei den Vätern). Bleibt noch der eigens eingerichtete U-Bahn-Anschluß (U3 und U8) zu erwähnen, falls man aufgrund ausgiebigen Stöffchengenuß auf das Auto verzichten muss ;-) Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es auch nur sollte man rechtzeitig reservieren, wenn man sicher ein Plätzchen mit einer größeren Gruppe ergattern möchte."

"Food is authentic Japanese and the operators. It happened today. Not disappointed. The selection is beautifully diverse, all ingredients fresh, good fish quality. The super soft avocado just knocked me over. Here and there the rice was not perfectly shaped and a tuna Nigri was a little hard of consistency. But that can happen. The rest was coherent. Not the best sushi in Frankfurt, but one of the better shops. The fish was really delicious. Unfortunately, the sushi culture in Germany is in many places to get a new fast food culture ala cheap and inferior products to make customers quick and effortless to get the highest profit, see for example Sushi Circle. EDIT: With the fast food culture, it is not intended to treat the preparation time, but the general lack of appreciation of food and quality. At least we haven't. Nice service and good food. Soups and pasta dishes are also highly recommended. Would come back with consistent quality."

"Siamo stati a Francoforte per una breve vacanza con amici. Il viaggio è stato organizzato da un agenzia italiana in collaborazione con un agenzia tedesca. Siamo arrivati a Francoforte in tarda serata esravamo alloggiati al Tryp by Windam Frankfurt ,di cui non ho niente da dire di negativo ,anzi tutto bene . Pulito ,colazione buona e abbondante,letti comodi. Il problema sta in questo fatto: vista l ora del nostro arrivo ,per la cena l hotel si è appoggiato al ristorante greco da Elia. Non so il motivo ma abbiamo mangiato da schifo . Ci hanno servito un piatto unico con pastina da brodo asciutta tipo risoni Barilla che loro hanno definito nodelli ,qualche pezzetto di verdura spadellata, e una cosa che hanno definito bistecca fatta con carne macinata pressata piegata in due farcita di feta e pomodoro in minima quantità . Il sapore era orribile . Quasi nessuno ha mangiato i piatti sono tornati indietro come sono venuti. In oltre mia figlia è vegetariana ha chiesto di sostituire la carne con uova o formaggio ma a sua richiesta non è stata accolta. Capisco che forse il prezzo concordato con l agenzia non sarà stato granché ma né io né i miei amici siamo animali e ritengo che davvero quello chi ci hanno dato da mangiare non sia stato adatto neanche ad animali . Vi assicuro che il mio cane mangia molto meglio. Non ho neanche una foto da farvi vedere se riesco a procurarmela da qualcuno dei miei amici la posto. Vi assicuro che siamo rimasti tutti molto male per il trattamento ricevuto. Se era solo una questione di soldi bastava chiedere di più non era un problema . Nemmeno una tovaglia di carta ci siamo meritati!"

"Wir waren mit Freunden dort, die vietnamesische Küche ist eine angenehme Abwechslung da hier authentisches essen zu fairen Preisen angeboten wird. Ich hatte mich für die Flying Noodles entschieden, dass Highlight des Hauses. Nach anfänglicher Skepsis hat mich der Geschmack in dieser Kombination allerdings voll überzeugt. "Wir hatten einen Tisch für 20 Uhr reserviert. Es erwartete uns ein sehr schönes, kleines, authentisches Restaurant. Wir waren zunächst beeindruckt. Aber es kam anders..Als die Bedienung kam, sollten wir eine Vorspeise bestellen. Wir waren eigentlich nur auf Pasta ausgerichtet, aber bestellten dann 2 Vorspeisen zum teilen. Wir warteten eine Stunde. Nachdem wir die Vorspeise gegessen hatten, war es schon viertel vor 10. Die Bedienung kam um viertel nach 10 um die Bestellung für die Pasta aufzunehmen. Wir waren zwischenzeitlich aber gesättigt und wollten nicht nochmal eine Stunde auf die Pasta warten, sodass wir um die Rechnung baten. Die Bedienung reagierte eingeschnappt und unhöflich. Wir erklärten, dass es echt lecker war, es uns aber einfach zu spät wird, wir wussten nicht, dass wir so viel Zeit einplanen müssen, das wurde uns vorher nicht mitgeteilt. Es interessierte sie nicht. Sie erklärte uns wie viel Umsatz durch uns nun verloren gehen würde und gab uns sogar das Trinkgeld zurück, das sie absolut nicht annehmen wollte.So etwas hatten wir noch nicht erlebt, wir waren wirklich geschockt. Schade um das süße Restaurant!"

"During our last trip to Frankfurt we came across this restaurant for the first time.While walking around the Frankfurt Cathedral Kaiserdom St. Bartholomäus my wife and I saw this restaurant and thought we will give it a chance.While seated we from a young women who work in this place we got the first impression about the friendly and polite way of the employee.But this attitude was self-evident by all the employee who served us in the 2 times when we had our dinner there.The restaurant had a very simple menu but with a diversity of different taste to match the need of different gusts.The food is prepared fresh but does not take much time to wait.The dessert is a must to tryWe had the friendly advice in both nights from a lovely employee who was always there once we needed anything.He was explaining the idea behind the different dishes which was created from a young chef **** who work in the restaurant for not a long time.The food quality was just perfect. The place is tasteful decorated, clean and tidy.If you happen to be in Frankfurt just visit this place we can warmly recommend it.Bon appetite!"

"If in Frankfurt and craving japanese food, this is the place to go! Whenever we need to go into the city, everyone already knows we have to stop here. Amazing japanese cuisine, authentic dishes and although the main dining room isn´t anything spectacular and windowless, we love it. There´s always a lunch special but at times you need to get there early or it´s out. There are plenty of great options on the menu though so you won´t leave hungry :)There is always complimentary green tea, something that hasn´t really been widely established in Germany, so it´s worth mentioning. If you happen to be in the area, this gem is truly worth a visit."

"I don't know, in the course of the month I've probably ordered 5 times the same to eat it in the office.The ambiente is really nice, very modern. with the service I had never bad luck, which is always friendly and on zack. it is practically located close to the consti when you have to take a meal while shopping.The prices are perfectly reasonable! I can only recommend to everyone to try the spinach salad with sesame sauce. also you should drink the homemade ice cream. it is also offered lunch lunch menus, with a green tea, a misoe and one of the main dishes. always like to come back!"

"I understand that the cook is right to put the menu, but no options for people who do not eat raw fish or fat duck - and then load 100 euro for an a la carte article from a seven cure meal (in 137 euro coarse) is unacceptable. the lighting in this restaurant shined, my chair was threaded, and the wall next to our table was dirty. we waited for 10 minutes in the cold foyer, while another one was treated in gas. we went to an end as my partner would not have been satisfied with its 100 euro bark piece. it is regrettable, because from all restaurants in frankfurt we decided to promote the work. I lived in japan for five years and expected more than what was delivered in terms of culinary selection and hospitality."

"Four friends out for dinner, Sat evening 7:30pm , table booked in advance ( as always ). We've been there a few times during the last couple of years so we knew what to expect. We started off with a couple of San Miguel & Estrella beers to quench our thirst whilst we went through the list of Tapas. We'd left a couple out but still managed to order 16 delicious tapas, 3 bottles of water and 3 bottles of Rioja Crianza . For dessert we just had one Leche Frita and one Capricho de turron and four Carajillo ( Spanish coffee ). It was a long evening as footie was on the box ' Juventus v. Real Madrid '. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time with our ' Spanish friends ' , great food, tasty Rioja and a total of 5 goals on the box ( better than a boring draw :-) or not ? ) Cozy little place but always worth the visit."

"From the outside the restaurant doesn’t look much appealing and, to be honest, the inside is pretty standard too. More a place where to have a quick bite than a restaurant where to spend couple of hours for a nice dinner. Atmosphere may not be particularly typical or fancy (standard modern furniture), but the place is clean and nice. Nonetheless, the food is quite good. You can find a mix of traditional Vietnamese dishes and more standards options with an ‘Asian’ flavour, which can make everyone happy. Portions are big.Considering quality and quantity, price is also very good. During lunch time, they also offer a Lunch Menu with very convenient prices (you can still order from the regular menu though, which is surely a plus). Service is ok, fast enough to allow people to stay in their one hour lunch break without problems."

"I've been there a couple of times with friends and we really enjoyed every time at an exceptionally affordable price (especially when comparing it with the average restaurant price in Frankfurt).It does not have a big variety of dishes and do NOT expect to find special Greek dishes like mouzakas or pastitsio in the menu, but you can definitely enjoy some Greek dishes (mostly with meat) like gyros, bifteki or riganato. Personally, I would recommend riganato and gyros, as a second choice (both pork) and try some of its mezes, like tzatziki! All main dishes include a personal salad, a side, some tzatziki and bread and cost at about 8-9€, so I consider it as an amazing price per person. You can also enjoy a glass of ouzo for only 2€! Also, it has a nice variety of wine/beer at an affordable price (you can also find some retsina-a Greek traditional white wine), but personally I stick with ouzo whenever I visit.The restaurant is quite small and the staff are super friendly and do not expect any big queues or waiting time. Just book a table if you want to be sure that you will find a table to sit! I consider it as one of the best value-for-money places in Frankfurt for lunch or dinner!P.S. It plays Greek traditional music so some non-Greeks may not like it."

"Very tasty food, if you like hummus and falafel you will be satisfied here. Bread and vegetables served with it are also great. It was hard to decide on a menu because everything sounded great. Order and pay directly at the counter. The order is taken and as soon as it is ready, the tracker rings and you have to pick it up yourself at the counter. For those who don't like self-service, this might not be the right place for you. Vegetarian options: Vegetarians will find what they are looking for here. A little difficult if you have gluten intolerance as there is no other type of bread available, but everything else is suitable."

"Wir wollten nur was trinken gehen und evtl. auch was kleines essen. Da fremd fragten wir uns in Eschersheim durch. Die Speisekammer wurde uns genannt. Also wir hin und setzten im Biergarten. Der aufmerksame Kellner kam sofort und brachte uns die Karte. Bei der Auswahl merkten wir das es draußen doch zu kalt war, also verlegt wir uns nach drinnen. Alles kein Problem, alles ohne Reservierung. Und jetzt kommt der Hammer Das Lokalinnere sauber, super eingerichtet, alles schön eingedeckt. Wirklich wunderschön und obwohl wir was kleines bestellt hatten, kam die verscheiden Sorten Butter mit frischem Brot und ein Gruß aus der Küche, alles wurden super bedient. Alle Speisen die wir bekommen haben, waren sehr gut und die Speisekarte macht neugierig auf mehr. Am Nachbartisch wurde flambiert und das Stück Fleisch sah super aus. Obwohl wir aus Baden-Württemberg sind, werden wir extra wieder kommen, mit mehr Hunger ;). Danke für die angenehmen Stunden."

"Sehr leckeres und frisches Essen, ausreichend Auswahl. Wir waren spontan zum Abendessen zu zweit, haben eine Variation aus den angebotenen Gerichten probiert: Sashimi Teller, Sushi Platte, Tempura vom Oktapus, Pilze mit Salz, Rindersteak.... alles sehr schmackhaft und geschmacklich sehr frisch. Dazu je ein Glass Weißwein und eine große Flasche Wasser. Die Bedienung ist schnell und sehr freundlich. Das Lokal ist relativ klein, es empfiehlt sich zu reservieren. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen, es ist nett. Wie fast bei jedem japanischen Restaurant muss mal ein bisschen tiefer in die Tasche greifen, für oben genannte Speisen haben wir 92.- Euro gezahlt. Alles in allem der Freundlichkeit und des Essens wegen absolut empfehlenswert."

"Frankfurt is the capital of Äppelwoi which is the local dialect for Apfelwein which means apple wine i.e. cider. The Frankfurt-style cider has undergone full fermentation so it is not sparkling and it is much stronger tasting than many French cidres or British ciders. It...is usually served from a large jug, the Bembel and drunk either neat or as a spritzer. Like many good things in life this is an acquired taste but it is delicious. Until not even all that long ago, every traditional Äppelwoi place (particularly on the south bank of the river Main) would produce its own cider on the premises. Today the Buchscheer is the last one remaining. And while many of the other places buy in decent cider from makers all around the land of Hesse, no one can beat the Schoppe (a glass of synonymous with a drink at the Buchscheer. The place is run by the owners, the Theobald family. Food is traditional Frankfurt fare (needless to say you can get a pair of frankfurters there), service is efficient, and the atmosphere is very relaxed many generations sit together on the long tables which are typical for this type of restaurant. The location is not central, but a tram-line stop is very near. A large garden area is in front of the restaurant, it is very busy during the summer months. The covered part of the garden is also open during wintertime. A unique and authentic place, I love it."
