Authentic Japanese in the center of Frankfurt, but slightly hidden in a side street. High quality sushi from a genuine Japanese sushi master. Good lunches also on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the sections have gradually become smaller in recent years. Another recommendation.

This is the Most unhappy, unfriendly Japanese Restaurant, i ever went to from Los Angeles to London, from Tel Aviv to Brussels, from Stockholm to Lisbon. The waiters are not here to please you, they are here to carry food quality is acceptable or...good, portions ridiculously small . They are so nervous and the screaming out of the kitchen is the worst ever background noise you can have . Ask for the back room, in the front you are middle in the draft, you catch a cold ! The hygiene seems the least of their worries, do not use the cold towel , it stinks. And if you are in a group, mention before you order that you want it on separate bills, otherwise... Came for dinner with family. Tried a whole bunch of assorted dishes and they all tasted reasonably good but not to the standard that you would find in Japan and other parts of Asia despite the restaurant run wholly by Japanese staff. We did not...have a booking and as it was a Friday night we were told that it was virtually impossible to get a seat but if we were prepared to wait someone might finish early. Atmosphere and location is perfect. Running by Japanese and also the staff. But very surprised with the food quality. First they served Miso soup with drinks.??? I was like what? Which restaurant in Japan do this? Then have ordered sushi and some yakitori. Another surprise...with buta bars pork belly with cut onion smells bad and taste like a freezer food. This is a small restaurant just off the centre of town which was recommended to us by some friends. We arrived a bit later for dinner and decided to have a light meal at the bar. There were several Japanese businessmen at a table close...by and another Japanese couple at the end of the bar – always a promising sign. The sushi bar manager and waiters were very friendly and quickly took our order. We had some tofu agedashi as well as a sashimi omakase and a few other titbits.
