"This was my son's real find for a cheap meal (by Geneva's standard) when we visited for the marathon. By concentrating on chicken (two ways) or pork with rice, or handcut chips with a green salad the restuarant is able to do what they advertise. That is in and out in 30 mins. Don't get me wrong this is definitely not a MacDonalds! Plentiful outside seating in a quiet back street and masses more room inside. With cheerful staff it was extremely busy. We dined here twice. Note closed on Sundays (like most of Geneva)"

"Nous avons pris notre déjeuner un jour ensoleillé. La vue sur la piscine est agréable, le service de très bonne qualité ainsi que les plats. Pour ma part j'avais pris un Carpaccio de saumon avec des frites faites maison tout juste parfait. Il y avait une famille avec deux enfants qui jouaient dans la piscine à ce moment-là ce qui ne nous a pas plus dérangé."

"The place was amazing and the food was delicious as usual, we had just a couple of problems, one of us was gluten intolerant and the waiter forgot to remove the bread in the main course, then beside us there was a table where two vmchain smokers smoked until they left. Probably, next time I will ask for a table inside."

"Comme chaque été, je traverse la ville pour venir un soir ou deux à La Storia, Leur terrasse est superbe, en retrait de la route. Les distances de sécurité sont respectées. La carte, toujours les mêmes entrées et plats originaires de la botte. Avec en prime, quelques suggestions de saison.L'assortiment La Storia, composé de charcuterie et de légumes grillés, servi copieusement, c'est bon. En plat nous avons pris le tartare de bar. Si la qualité du poisson ne se discute pas, l'assaisonnement était un peu trop présent et masquait le poisson, dommage. Les frites maison, top. Le carpaccio de boeuf et roquette, frais et goûtu. Le service, toujours sympa et proche du client.Bref, malgré le bémol du tartare, cela reste une belle adresse italienne où j'ai toujours plaisir à venir."

"Great food, always fresh ingredients and friendly service. This is not a chic restaurant in any case, but I was always made to feel welcome and never had a bad meal. It is popular among locals and tourists alike. I go to food product is the assiette poulet or schish taouk that is a dish of salad, hummus, tabbouleh, baba ganoush and grilled chicken... The Falafel is also very tasty and not dry like many other places. The prices are very good considering that it is Geneva and the salad plate with chicken and a drink is about 21 to 23 Swiss francs."

"Jus in case you didn't understand the title, a pommier is a golden apple tree. At the last stop at the end of the No3 trolley bus in Gandol cross the road and you will find the restaurant. It is not pretentious but airy and attractive, it has a terrace on two sides.The Manager/Owner welcomes all guests and seats them, menus are brought by staff, aperos are quickly brought. The menus are extensive and as expected in an Italian restaurant there are two kitchens, the normal kitchen and a pizza kitchen. We were quite close to that kitchen and the Pizzas coming out looked good. The M/O came over he speaks Italian French and English, and described special dishes and wines and helped us make our choises. We started by sharing small shell fish which came from Italy it was accompanied by home made fries, then my wife had a steak which she pronounced excellent and I had deep fried squid which were most enjoyable. The wine was excellent too. Well fed, we walked across the road to find No3 bus which left almost at once and we were home in 15 mins!"

"After many years of dining at the Cafe de la Paix, I have become very disappointed with the standard of service and the lack of clientele at what has been a very reliable and popular bistro. Tonight when I arrived, I found the restaurant to have only a few tables occupied and with the rear section shut off. Quite surprisingly and very unlike Geneva, I was told by the sole waiter to hang my coat on the coat rack he made no effort to welcome me). My guest and I then waited for a drinks order to be taken and we considered leaving at that point. Eventually our wine and food orders were taken and we settled down in expectation of a good dinner. While my starter of cal amaretti was excellent, my guest's dish of ravioli was cold and had to be rejected. His replacement dish of scallops was much better. Our main courses of Black cod and chevreuil were very appetising and we enjoyed them with the Gevry-Chambertin which we had chosen but only after being informed that our first choice of wine was not available!! In summary, the food was up to standard with the exception of the cold ravioli but the atmosphere and service were not anything like we had experienced on many prior visits I have to ask the question as to whether the owner is being distracted by his other restaurant in Carouge. I hope not but tonight's experience does not give me hope that the Cafe de la Paix will be in operation in the near future."

"Ex Café Huissoud, institution ou il était légion de manger des fondues, ce nouveau restaurant situé à la Rue du Stand en ville de Genève est idéalement situé car proche de Bel Air (5 minutes à pieds) et desservi notamment par le tram qui s'arrête devant (le no 14 notamment). L'intérieur est joliment décoré et l'ambiance y est chaleureuse.La carte est principalement axée sur des plats italiens et des vins de ce même pays ce qui n'est pas pour nous déplaire même si quelques breuvages genevois (supplémentaires) ne seraient pas de trop. En business lunch avec des collègues, j'ai opté pour les pâtes au saumon et je dois reconnaître que mon plat fut bon et la cuisson correctement effectuée. Les plats sont aux alentours de 23 à 29. ce qui est en ligne avec ce qui se fait dans le quartier.Le service fut agréable.La proximité des tables empêche toutefois une certaine intimité notamment si l'on veut aborder des sujets professionnels. Cela reste une bonne adresse pour manger un plat italien."

"The quality of the food was ok. Good quality steak but not cooked as ordered. Service however was terrible! The waiter rushed the service and kept lurking around us while we were eating. The worst however was that the restaurant allowed in a man selling his music who came around bothering customers while we were eating. When we complained about this the staff claimed they did not know the man but he went round every table and no one challenged him! No discount was offered on the back of the complaint!"

"We ate there with a large group from work with a pre-reserved menu. A foie gras and salad for starter that was of high quality, with a nicefruit compot to accompany the foie gras; a trout filet on rice and vegetables that was perfectly prepared; and a tarte tatin with an absinthe ice cream. All nicely prepared, well presented on the plate, only the absinthe taste in the ice cream was a bit weak. Service was friendly and efficient, despite the place being full. I will go back."

"This place is right next to a Novotel hotel so if you don’t speak French, it is ok. They are fluent in English. Great selection of food and the sides are yummy. One of us can’t eat handle too spicy, the restaurant tries to accommodate the soft tofu soup for her and it turned out great."

"A bustling lyonnaise style bistrot in the Pâquis area of Geneva. The decorations and tables were all in the classic style. The service was very welcoming and quick. If you are into steak, this is the place, go no further. From sirloin to fillet steak (Tournedos) and their famous beef wellington (call in advance for it), all are cooked to perfection. They have very good dishes of the day, but for this review, I stuck with the main menu. I had a terrine stuffed with morilles mushrooms to start off, followed by the Tournedos Rossini which comes with an indulgent pan-seared piece of foie gras and dauphinois potatoes as side. The accompanying sauce is both rich and luscious. I finished off with the desert of the day which consisted of a tasty chocolate and carmel tarte. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this establishment with friends, family, business or even on your own. It is well worth the experience."

"My husband and I went to this restaurant with his sister and parents, we were five. There were 2 waiters and it took about 5 minutes to come and take our coats, which I found a bit long for a smallish restaurant like Diwane. Both...of the waiters were stressed and running around. Once we ordered 12 mezze dishes, we were served dishes progressively, which was fine. We asked for a water pitcher and never received it. When the first batch of mezzes came, we had not been served any bread. We asked for it and had 6 small pieces (triangles) of bread served. When I asked for more straight away (as we were 5), the lady (we think she was the owner's spouse) told us that the bread is served in this size so its stays warm and that they keep an eye on our table to replenish as soon as we finish the batch. Unfortunately, we had to ask and wait every time our bread was finished a very unpleasant experience. over, this same lady was falling sick or something and she was coughing into her hand and then touching plates to serve guests without washing them. The owner of the restaurant was also there and didn't seem very happy with his team as he was constantly criticising/scolding the waiters and we could even hear him from the kitchen. The great thing about this restaurant is its food fresh and delicious. We especially liked the moutabal, hummus (don't take the spicy one as it's not spicy at all), foul moudamas, grilled haloumi and taboulé."

"We came at 11:00 am and were told they only do fondue after 11:30am. We waited around 30 minutes before being seated inside. We had the steak (25,90), fondue (25,90) and profiteroles (10,50) to finish. The steak was not my favourite. It was thin and too charred. It was also chewy. I would not recommend you order it. I did like the fries though (3/5) The fondue was a whole different situation. It was life changing. This was our first fondue in Switzerland and omg it was good. The flavour was deep. The combination of different cheese and the white wine was amazing. They offer the fondue with bread and you can get refills. It was just too good. I would definitely recommend you come for the fondue don't leave Geneva without it. (10/5) The profiteroles were okay. Chocolate was a bit sweet. Wouldn't recommend. (3.5/5) The reason I gave this place a 5 was because the service was so nice and friendly. And did I mention the fondue?"

"Last night my wife and I visited Fayrouz Garden. We brought our children, 4 and 8 years old. We sat outside with the kids playing in the large courtyard. The restaurant was almost empty, only 3 tables including ours with customers. A woman later identified as the owner took our order from my wife. But, while I was distracted with the kids, I noticed she returned three times to our table. I asked my wife why. It turns out this woman was aggressively instructing my wife to order for the children. My wife explained the kids had already eaten, but this woman refused to take no for an answer. When the woman approached my wife for a fourth time, I walked up to her and calmly asked she stop bothering my wife, the kids had eaten, we were dining for two only. At that moment the woman exploded with rage. It was crazy. She started yelling and screaming, telling us to leave. She frantically began gathering everything on our table. We were flabbergasted. For the life of me I could not understand what had happened to that woman. She was out of control. I walked into the restaurant and spoke to a man who also said he is an owner. I guess they work as a husband-wife team. He didn 't want to hear my story. He said, You have a table for four but only two people are dining. Huh? The restaurant was almost empty! We have two children who already ate! He wanted none of this and simply stated, Leave the restaurant. That was a bizarre, upsetting and emotionally humiliating experience. Needless to say we won 't go back there again. But, what really upsets me is the fact we were perhaps model customers. Well-behaved kids. Full dinner orders for my wife and I. Giving them business at a time things are slow during coronavirus. Civilized, quiet and polite. What we got was a crazed woman who shot like a rocket into a hate-filled hysteria, nonsensical and very rude. I am very sorry we had that experience."
