"I’m a professional woman of colour in my fifties fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. During October I decided to go to this local pub for a quiet drink with my small dog. After ordering my drink at the bar, a man and woman started to verbally abuse me. The attack was completely unprovoked. The verbal abuse continued throughout my drink being made, whilst I was sat at a table. I was so scared, I didn’t get up to get my drink because I didn’t want to walk past the man and woman abusing me. The man called me a “b*tch” and a “c*nt” and the abuse continued until they left. No one spoke up or defended me throughout the attack. One member of staff eventually asked the man to “leave it”. They left when they finished their drinks and as they passed called me a “c*nt”. I didn’t say anything throughout. I am not sure if this was a racist attack or because I was a female on my own but I do know I don’t feel safe at this pub or walking past it. I have never experienced this kind of verbal abuse as an adult. It really shook me up and upset me. What was meant to be a moment of forgetting about my cancer became a really awful experience. Probably the worst thing was that no one defended me or stopped the abuse. Sending a clear signal to the abusers that this was acceptable behaviour in this pub. I live a few roads away and feel the lack of action by the staff speaks volumes. I now regularly visit Greenwich Grind where I feel really safe and looked after. I know the staff there would speak up if anyone (poc, LGBTQ etc) was attacked. I left Richard 1st in floods of tears that day. I tried to contact the management to discuss what happened but we couldn’t find a convenient time. I felt it wasn’t important to them. I will never set foot in here again."

"It's honestly rare that I get to partake in such a well presented establishment. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a waiter immediately, led to a table and presented with a menu. Now that may not seem out of the ordinary, but the waiter's eagerness to please and satisfy the customer did not go unnoticed. I gave myself a hot minute to look through the menu before I made my decision. The waiter noticed when I was done and I didn't even have to call him over. After having placed my order, I was expecting to wait a while before my drink and food arrived. I was pleasantly surprised when the drink arrived in less than ten minutes and the meal in less than twenty. I felt obligated to leave a decent tip to show my appreciation. The food was absolutely to-die-for, the flavour delicious, the texture perfect and the aroma heavenly. And the atmosphere of the restaurant made me enjoy these things all the more. At the end of the day, the bill left me speechless. Where I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg, I didn't really have to pay all that much at all! I made sure to leave the waiter a generous tip and made a mental note to bring my friends and my family along next time. A solid 10/10 experience. I would recommend anyone."

"I actually only went in to have a few beers and to watch football on TV. While sitting there I noticed many people were also eating. I got up to take a walk around and looked at the food on the various tables. It looked lovely and smelt out of this world. I called for a menu. The cuisine is a mix of Nepalese and Indian. Not having ever eaten Nepalese food I ordered the 'chill chicken '. I could have easily had another portion! On another occasion I had the 'Momo '. Pastry parcels (like a dim sum) stuffed with chicken or lamb, slow cooked then friend, served with stir fry. My word!!! The menu is extensive, a lot of Asians eat there (a good sign), beer specials are often on, and I will certainly return. The problem is I want to eat what I have had before but must try other things!!"

"Lovely popular place, rating should be 5 stars plus, friendly, very clean place with quick service. The food was delicious and plenty of it, was a struggle to finish. The food was excellent value with loads of favours from sweet and sour to very spicy, ideal for the whole family. We will certainly go there again the next time we go back to the O2. The only downside is that the place has limited seating. Highly recommend. Here again for the 2nd time and the food excellent and very tasty up to the same high standard as before. Very full and contented. Superb food."

"I often come to gaucho and to say I was disappointed last night would be an understatement. My fiancé and I both ordered fillet steak, well I have never seen a cut of fillet steak as flat as the ones we had and the taste wasn’t great either. The chips were over cooked and we couldn’t eat them, the peppercorn sauce was so watery and didn’t taste anything like peppercorn, I couldn’t finish my meal. I wanted to make a complaint on the night as I wasn’t prepared to pay for my main meal but my fiancé told me to rather write a review afterwards as he finds things like that a little embarrassing. The starter was lovely but you can’t really go wrong with bread butter and the dessert was also ok. Very disappointing as we love gaucho but we won’t be going back there in a hurry. I’m not sure if you have changed management, but a friend of mine said they went to to the one in Tower Hill not long ago and they were also very disappointed. Seems like a lot has changed which is a real shame."

"We went to Frankie and Benny’s for a delicious authentic Italian lunch as we were getting hungry and wanted to break up a jubilee line journey from Stratford to Green park and remembered this was here and having been once before and liking it I decided to go back.The service was exemplary,our waiter was just fantastic very friendly,chatty and polite.He handed my gluten free allergy really well.Also food came out in about 10 minutes which was great bearing in mind it was all so fresh!The food was absolutely delicious,my gluten free pepperoni pizza was heavenly and you couldn’t get more Italian than a Frankie’s gluten free pepperoni pizza.It was lovely and hot,presented well,good portion sizes,extremely fresh and very good for money!Infact if you visit at lunch time you get 1 course for £9.90.That’s fantastic value and better value than places like Nando’s etc.And with just buying tap water it’s a real bargain which is great as water is one of my favourite drinks,you can never ever ever go wrong with a glass of water.It’s good for you and boots you’re hydration and well-being.Also the decor in here is lovely,all very fresh and beautifully decorated.I love the new Frankie’s decor it’s just so nice and I love it how they have re-visited it.It’s much cooler(temperature wise and fashion wise).I love the lights as well.It is also very spacious and clean.Also toilets were convenient and clean.This is a perfect place for a meal if you are on a train journey,before or after shopping, cinema,bowling or concert.Or after a trampoline session,skydiving session,climbing session or during a day out in London.Would highly recommend this.I reviewed it on tripadvisor as they were displaying the 2022 travellers choice award and they had quite a lot of negative reviews recently and to share my positive experience may help them have that award again this year or in future years"

"If I could I would give zero stars. Incredibly racist staff who ended up making my 9 year old niece cry at her own birthday dinner. After being forced to pay for all food upfront, we simply queried about the service charge then added to our additional drinks we wanted to pay for at the end. We still paid for this and as the waiter was getting our payment decided to tell us we would no longer be welcome there as the manager heard us talking about the service charge. When I then told the waiter this was Incredibly inappropriate to do at the table, he didn 't even apologise. I then spoke to the manager and told him how inappropriate that was he simply shrugged his shoulders and when we even mentioned my niece was crying he again shrugged his shoulders. When I said 'how can you not even offer an apology ' he then decided to say 'OK then, sorry '. I believe this treatment was down to the fact we were a Black family as we could see how the staff treated others in the restaurant. Terrible terrible attitude and would not recommend if you aren 't of their target demographic."

"The TripAdvisor review for Lasdun is a bit confusing as it seems to be striving to be a top destination restaurant on its own. Located within the Nat Theatre, it is part of their efforts to create a vibrant dining and drinking scene that caters not only to theatre-goers but also to others looking for a nice meal. I visited on a Saturday night in June, after the pre-theatre rush had passed. My dining companion and I enjoyed a delicious meal, and even struck up a conversation with a delightful couple from Margate at the next table, which added some liveliness to the otherwise quiet restaurant. We started with a snack and a first course of crab, followed by a piece of pollack with chips - all of which was well-prepared using quality ingredients. The service was good, and we had a nice view overlooking the river. The restaurant's design pays homage to Lasdun's South Bank architectural style, and the room itself is quite charming. Our bill came to £176 for two, including 2 white Port Tonics and a bottle of Valeriole Rose - not cheap, but worth it for the high quality of the food and the unique experience. The only downside was the lack of ambiance, but overall, this place has great potential and we look forward to returning."

"Just to set the record straight, I did not actually eat here. Zomato is supposed to be rating places to eat, but my review is relevant because the intention was to eat. So, whilst in Greenwich for a day trip (doing the touristy thing with the parents) we went here purely on the rating of Zomato. "A busy and cheerful restaurant!. I love this place for what it is. Cheap and tasty food, big portions and a standard Chinese menu where you can find anything you are looking for. The service is amazingly quick but sometimes you'll have to wait on the weekends/Friday night when it gets busy. I come here most of the time I come to Greenwich and given that I commute there on an almost bi-weekly basis, is a lot. Spring rolls and spicy calamari rings are really good. I love the fresh fruit juice- it is processed instantaneously upon order. The waitress there are very friendly."

"Planned to eat elsewhere, but restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Found Sun Ya on line (we were looking for Chinese buffet , and turned up (5 adults and 5 children to find a very warm welcome and readily fitted us in. Had buffet (all cooked fresh , and after starters and duck and pancakes, had difficulty getting through ordered mains. Not the best Chinese food we've ever eaten, but certainly acceptable, and staff were happy to provide other things (like chips for the kids . Best aspect was the friendly, attentive and helpful staff they made our family celebration special. Kids especially appreciated the lollies, fortune cookies and mints! Will be very happy to make a return visit (preferably for adults only meal this time!"

"Went early, just as it opened around 5 before heading to the cinema on the recommendation of a friend. Lovely food, great service. The chef came out to see how we were and made it clear we could amend anything on the menu, which one of us did. He even offered to make something if we'd prefer. Food was excellent. The bruschetta were different to what I'm used to but delicious. We all had pasta every dish was great. The house red was lovely second large glass. The lemoncello ice cream really cleaned the pallet. We rolled out of there to see Andre Rieu concert at the cinema also a good worth a visit. Service just how you want it there but not fussing."

"They fed my vegetarian boyfriend meat and never apologised. Really disgusted with the service today. My boyfriend and I ordered breakfast wraps. I eat meat and he is vegetarian so we ordered one meat, and one veggie breakfast wrap. When the waitress brought them over she said she had one veggie and one meat. We both said, he was the vegetarian and she put the food down in front of us and we started eating. Soon we realised that he had been given the meat wrap and he was immediately feeling unwell as he hasn’t consumed meat in over 10 years. We told the waitress what had happened and that we needed to leave immediately as he was about to be sick. I said we needed a refund. The staff were not keen to refund us even though their mistake made my boyfriend violently unwell for the rest of the day. NOT ONCE DID ANYONE APOLOGISE FOR THE MISTAKE. they were stone cold with us while processing the refund which was incredibly rude. We understand that mistakes can and do occasionally happen but we are both disgusted with this customer service and lack of empathy with such a serious incident."

"If I could give this place some less than 1 star I would. Tiny place so many tables shoved in. Got told to go upstairs via some exceedingly steep steps. My friend and I waited for 10 minutes no one came to take our order. I ventured downstairs to get a waitress’s attention. In doing so I fell down the last 4 steps. This resulted in me falling heavily and injuring my elbow. The only person who came to my aid was another customer. Not one of the staff came to my aid, eventually I was given a piece of kitchen towel!! Was then told that a member of staff was going to get a first aid kit out the back, I can only assume this was in Nania as it never materialised. I then hobbled back upstairs asking for our order to be taken. We were then rudely told it would take a while so at this point gave up completely.Not once did anyone apologise or ask how I was.AVOID at all costs you have been warned"

"After many excellent meals at the Trafalgar Tavern, last Sunday lunchtime was a slight disappointment because it was a bit below par. I have never seen the place so crowded however our table was ready on time and the service as attentive as ever. However, the meal was a little less excellent than usual. One friend had to send back her French Fries because they were leathery and cold (the replacements were excellent) and the taste of my roast beef was completely overwhelmed by the overpowering strength of the gravy. If we had never eaten at the Trafalgar Tavern before we would have been very happy with the meal that we had there but we had, so we were a bit disappointed. But it was a very busy day so perhaps they had some excuse."

"I hadn't intended to eat here, but it started raining so I nipped into this café that loomed up. Didn't expect much because it was very quiet, with only one other diner. I ordered the lasagna and chips, always a safe choice for me in unknown cafés. I was taken aback by the size of the lasagna when it arrived--it flowed over a big area of plate. And it tasted great--different from most lasagnas I've had, being looser and moister. Delicious, and, with the good-sized chips and garlic bread, filling and satisfying. Then what a price! £7.20! London doesn't have to be a ripoff, so long as you venture a street or two away from the main attractions--in this case, Greenwich Palace a few hundred yards down the road. Gem."

"I wrote a review of this restaurant on their website and received no response. I want to share my feedback publicly so others don't waste their money. I booked a lunch for my son's 9th birthday before going on the O2 climb. We made it clear it was his birthday when we arrived, but none of the staff acknowledged it or made any effort. The service was consistently poor, with uninterested staff. We had to chase several times to place our order, and then had to wait for our server. The wings were cold in the center and had to be sent back. All the food was at best lukewarm. I paid £20 for a half rack of ribs, a small portion of coleslaw, some warm chips, and a soggy corn on the cob. By the time my wings were replaced, my son and wife had finished their meals and my chips were cold. When the bill came, there was no inquiry about the meal, but the waiter mentioned he deducted the wings—meaning he removed the duplicate order from the bill. The lack of gesture for the cold meal was disappointing. I paid and left. Overall, it was awful. Avoid this place at all costs."

"Food was over half an hour late; driver completely missed our block of flats and wandered off in the opposite direction, didn’t ring us at all, and didn’t show with the food for another 10 minutes. We then got a phone all from the restaurant to say that the driver was outside. We notified them that there had been no knock. We then looked outside and the driver was at a different block of flats over the road. Food was then cold when we opened it (no wonder, given how late it was and the 10 minutes outside! . Quality was okay but nothing special. I don’t think we will order again,"

"I went there reading the good reviews about the place on tripadviser. But I was shocked when I reached as it is not even a proper restaurant. The ambiance is even worse than a cheap fired chicken shop. So much that you wouldnt want to spend ur evening there. Since I read very good reviews about the place, I thought may be the food must be really good so gave it a try despite the poor ambiance.They simply microwave the precooked food including roasted chicken and chicken tikka, in a plastic box and serve it to you. So everything is basically stale there. The flavour of food is not that bad but it is not worth giving a try either. You should consider cooking at home rather than having stale food that isnt good quality either."
