"This is my personal best choice for restaurant in Hunstanton and here’s to why. Staff are really really welcoming and sweet and this alone hits my five stars given straight away. They are not only polite and friendly, but also something else made me a very nice impression, something you could easily miss. We entered the place at 16:50 and nobody told us they were closing 17:00, in 10 minutes! Nobody mentioned it at all, we were warmly welcomed, our order taken, served, we ate in total peace until 17:30 etc. not a single sign of rushing or anything! Most restaurants would have probably closed the doors, to demonstrate that it’s time to go, but not here! Not even a gentle reminder, we were treated like friends! About the food totally independent from the above, I loved every bite! The chicken was made, like the absolute perfection! About hygiene the place was sparkling clean (I have experiences of all sorts, this is my not so humble expert opinion here). A couple left shortly after we arrived and I saw two of the waitresses taking the stuff away from the table and with no delay cleaning and disinfecting it so carefully that I presumed it was their own business, never seen such care and total absence of rushing at the end of the day. I also used the toilets and they were immaculate. First time I see restaurant toilets so clean, 5 stars for that too! Last thing prices were spot on. I am quite stingy when it comes to value for money and you get the best of it here. Location is quite easy to find. Will definitely be returning when in Hunstanton again!"

"This is 2 stars only because the ale selection is good and the pints cost £2.50. I rarely pop in here tbh but occasionally I think I 'll just call in to see what beers they have on and get a cheap pint. I always regret it. This is not a pub, it is a large canteen where everyone has gone for cheap food. The absolute worse thing, much worse than the dirty plates and glasses left everywhere, is the bar service and the way that people for some bizarre reason queue at the bar like you would queue at the till in a shop. The bar is massive with plenty of space to stand at but an orderly queue is always formed behing one of the tills and I find it infuriating. This is not how a pub works. The awful queueing system is probably a symptom of the awful standard of bar service and inept bar staff here and is probably the only way the single member of bar staff is capable of know who is next to serve. You are never greeted with a smile and a hello like a normal pub but its just a who 's next or a shouted can I help anyone directed towards a line of people queueing away from the bar. The dirty glasses everywhere in this pub are even on the bar, there is no point in taking your empty glass to the bar on the way out as it will just sit there for ages with no attempt to clear it up, its as if someone on bar service feels it is beneath them to clear away empty glasses. There are much better pubs in Downham, The Crown which is a proper pub and a much nicer drinking experience and The Live and Let Live which is also a proper pub where you can watch the football and like the Crown the bar staff there know proper pub etiquette. Having said that you can get a late drink in this shameful canteen like wetherspoons when the other pubs have called last orders so swings and roundabouts."

"Having heard good things about the venue, I was looking forward to going there with friends. It started badly, no wine glasses behind the bar. Transpires they were upstairs. When we went to the table, 2 out of the 5 mains were not available and half starters were not either. The daily specials were the preferred option of a really limited menu. When the scallops arrived £11.50 for 3) whilst they were just cooked, they were tiny and all were very varied in size a number of us had them. No consistency in size at all, and not even 'queen ' size, more like 'toddler '. The salmon was main was the same, but nicely cooked. It 's annoying when half he table get in essence forced to opting for second or third choices, and then their being evident portion discrepancies, plus little in the way of veg. Other comments from friends were similar in relation to portion control, but the best was that they had 'run out of gravy, so sorry ' when it came to the cumberland sausage. Whilst the staff were young and trying hard, the delay on getting the food to table was long 30 for starters and another 45 between for main. This was topped off by being told at 8.45 that if we wanted desert we had to chose then, as the kitchen closed at 9. The main plates had only just been lifted. We were then told if you want any more drinks, the bar in restaurant was closing and we were welcome to stay but we would have to get our own drinks from downstairs. All a little shocking for somewhere where far more was expected and it left me wondering if the owner was Mr Clayton or whether the cantankerous legend of Roger Duggan had somehow been allowed to remain that night. Disappointed did not cover it."

"We visited Prezzo this evening for our anniversary. We booked in advance and I made sure to put on the booking that we were celebrating a anniversary, however this did not seem to make any difference at all. It would have been nice if some effort was made in this area, especially when booking the website asked if we were celebrating. It seems point the website asking if the staff do not acknowledge it. We were greeted at the door however it was not a warm welcome. We were offer a small table and I requested a different table as I did not want to be right next to the toilets. The food came quickly. I ordered the pasta arribata and added chicken. The pasta was undercooked. The sauce was so plain and cold it was awful. The sauce was also a weird water consistency so It wasn't sticking to the pasta correctly. It felt like they had just water down tomato sauce. I could not taste any chilli or garlic. My partner had the three meat pizza, he said it was plain and was undercooked also. The staff were unbothered and did not bring any warm energy. I asked to have the aribaita removed from the bill as I did not eat it. They said they would remove it. We had dessert which was nice. I had a 2 free dessert voucher so I used this. The server did remove the desserts however did not remove the aribaita. We Asked about this before we paid, the server lied to our face and said she had removed it. We added it up and she clearly did not remove it. We just wanted to leave so just paid it and left. The restaurant was cold and I could smell cigarettes. This was an awful experience and we will not be returning. We especially did not like being lied to about the pasta dish not being removed. Overall its cheap cold tasteless food and cold lifeless staff"

"We walked in early afternoon and waited around 5 minutes to be seated, which was good considering how busy it was. As they were extremely busy it took along time for our order to be taken, which is understandable. Our order was taken, (we ordered 4 meals) as it was busy we expected it to take a while but certainly not 1 hour. We soon started to realise that our order may not have been processed as several tables that ordered after ours received their food first. We asked the waitress and she said she would check with the kitchen, and said the order has gone through. After waiting around another 20 minutes (at this point around 4 other tables that ordered after ours received their food) we queried to the waitress again who said she couldn 't speed up the kitchen. The manager came over and explained that we made the waitress cry. She also made the point that if we didn 't want to wait the door is over there . She was very confrontational and instead of aplogising she made an excuse that cod takes longer to cook due to the takeaway orders, which was total nonsense when other customers (that ordered after ours) received food that more than likely was cod even so, our food shouldn 't have taken that much longer. She accuses us of being rude, and did not once apologise about the hour wait for our food. Another table that witnessed the incident explained to the manager that we weren 't rude, and were simply asking where our food was. She also was arguing with them, making the point that a 15 year old is crying . I 100% understand management sticking up for their staff, but point blank accusing customers of something without knowong both sides of the story is unacceptable. All the manager had to do is apologise and try and get the food out as quick as possible. Despite the incident, when the food did arrive it was very tasty and worth the wait, it was just unfortunate the manager had to act in this manner."
