"Heard about this place via word of mouth from a friend (always the best way! So Me Mrs rang for availability and where glad that we did! (Busys the word and a great sign it is! We pre-ordered afternoon tea for two and what a lovely feast of fancies it was! Got a lovely welcome from the host and co owner who seated us at a nice big table. In interior is both clean modern whilst re-creating that forever piece of England, the country tea shop! The 3 tier cake stand full of lovelies large pot of tea arrived within minutes, a feast for both body mind it certainly was! Sandwiches on the bottom, cakes fancies on the mid section all crowned with the traditional cream tea. Welcome suprise was two mini cups of spiced parsnip soup with tiny croutons, (bliss . All the food was quoffed with great delight although the Mrs was that full, she couldn't manage the cream tea! (Shame was that! So I had to take one for team and eat that as well, just in the interests of not upsetting anyone you understand! Price was reasonable and they get it so right! This place seems to be a hub for both villagers and cycling clubs alike I can understand why it seems to be the center of some peoples social activities! We shame be returning again again! The owners should be proud and I'm sure they are! (Shows in their work! Foody theme nights are held monthly as well. All good, now give em a try!"

"Family meal03/09/23 at The Hope Anchor pub, South Ferriby for a special occasion which was spoilt by the number of flies in the restaurant. I even had to ask a staff member if they had a fly swatter and they were going to fetch a fly zapper which never materialised. Whilst waiting for starters to arrive we had killed 3 flies. Starters were eaten off a slim piece of slate (as was the fish and chips main course) when a decent plate would have been better. I asked staff again if they had a fly swatter and another table was set up elsewhere in the pub, which was no different. Sat at the new table we killed a further 2 flies. The meal was spoilt by having to constantly bat flies out of the way, landing on our cutlery whilst trying to eat (had to grab spare from a neighbouring table). Main courses consisted of steaks, fish and chips and roast beef dinners with side dishes. Sadly, we could not eat all of the side dishes due to flies landing on them. The roast beef dinners were nothing special as the beef was chewy (I have cooked better myself) as was the steak on the bone but the fillet steaks and triple cooked chips were nice. It was not a pleasant dining experience at all and we declined to entertain dessert and any more drinks as we could not wait to leave. We would definitely not return or recommend this venue at all. Overall, very disappointed at what should have been a nice family occasion and the food was definitely NOT Michelin star quality."

"This has always been one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the Scunthorpe area for many years. We knew Coni Carlos were selling up we’re saddened to think of losing this fantastic dining experience. But to our amazement the new owners have not disappointed us, in fact they have excelled in their new venture! On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated quickly. We opted for a bottle of Sauvignon blanc totally delicious. Crab cakes for me goats cheese fritter for my wife of 32 years Both were to die for, fresh flavoursome. Having realised the new owners are Turkish we were pleased to try their home additions to the specials board! My main was mixed Turkish skewers, my wife had the monkfish. Nice to know the bulk of their staff are from the previous owners too! Having delighted our way through the mains we finished the wine chatted a while before deciding on a pudding excited to see they still did the Amereto slices we both opted for them. Mine with ice cream, the othe with cream…….OMG right choice too! As the restaurant slowly cleared of diners we found ourselves the last to leave, giving us a chance to find a little more about the new owners, Murat Emir, what great new hosts for this local gem of a restaurant, they asked our opinion on the food service, both were fantastic we cannot wait to return next weekend to try their lunchtime menus. Great work, looking forward to trying more Turkish treats along with the Italian choices."

"I’ve been 3 times now within the past couple of months; once with my friend and twice with my partner. First time I had prawn cocktail and hunter’s chicken. Due to a food intolerance to chillis/peppers, I asked the waitress if they could check whether...the bbq sauce had chillis in. This was no problem. It did have chillis in so the waitress said they’d be able to do another sauce, and so I settled on a garlic sauce instead. I was genuinely surprised at how far they went, after I’m often left feeling like an inconvenience to ask about ingredients in sauces etc but they couldn’t have been more accommodating and willing to help (especially after they said they could do another sauce as I contemplated having it plain) The second time I had a Sunday carvery and oh my god, it was the best carvery I’d ever had! Everything was perfect! Didn’t have dessert as went to an ice cream parlour after but felt disappointed as they looked good! My most recent visit was just yesterday. And I had gammon, chips and peas with a side order of onion rings. It was all divine once again! The pineapple was grilled fresh pineapple, not the tinned rings you usually get with gammon and it was two large chunks so didn’t have to ration the pineapple/gammon ratio! Onion rings were amazing but it was all too much they’re definitely a sharing portion! Would be nice if they had an onion ring side for one option as I hate food waste managed a dessert and had a white chocolate and raspberry roulade with vanilla ice cream. Was tempted by a sponge pudding but felt it would be too heavy. Was pleased with my option though. Price wise, I would say it’s about average price for a pub meal. The gammon was £11.95 I think, similar price for the hunter’s chicken, and my partners fish and chips were £14.95 but the fish portion is huge so well worth it! I think the last bill was about £50 for the two mains, onion rings, two desserts and three drinks. I’m looking forward to coming back for the carvery around my birthday (end of April)"
