We called in after a long journey with little time to spare and the service and welcome were amazing. We were served very quickly with very tasty, fresh fish and chips which were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend on all counts.

I recently visited The Sloop for the second time with my family for our Christmas gathering. The staff were very accommodating and provided smooth service. They were attentive and took great care in preparing meals for two of our family members with allergies. Our previous visit was enjoyable and this visit was just as wonderful. We are grateful for making our family gathering extra special. Thank you!

The food and service at this restaurant are outstanding. Even if you make a last-minute reservation, the owners always accommodate you. We've been visiting The Sloop for a while now and have never had a bad experience. We highly recommend the steak pie, which is flavorful and full of tender meat. The desserts are also delicious. What a fabulous welcoming pub, Thursday 16th November, from the lovely landlord to the barmaid, Amelia? the beautiful double sided roaring log burner, the amazing selection of real ales and the fabulous food! Such a warm welcome and a shrewd move being open earlier than most pubs in the area. It was full by 5pm!! Hats off to this establishment- a very warm welcome atmosphere second to none! We wish we were locals! Fish chips to die for!

We came for an evening meal with our daughter who was over for a short visit from Spain. She’s a coeliac who doesn’t eat meat and it’s not easy to find something for her to eat here when we go out. We come to The Sloop fairly often and always find the food excellent and staff welcoming. It has a really good atmosphere. We had checked previously and was told that the chef was able to do gluten free fish and chips for her. She said they were absolutely delicious, non greasy and a really generous portion. Our Christmas meals were just as good.

Absolutely shocking. We entered the pub after a long journey with full family 3 young children) and our dog. The staff a lady) didn’t look happy we had entered her establishment , but invited us to sit in the dog friendly food area and get settled. When we went to order drinks and ask for a menu, we was then told they could not serve us food due to a large order. I run a large business in the area and I would be not happy turning away people. We then headed to Hope and Anchor who couldn’t have been more welcoming not just with the children but with the dog too, food bowls and water provided on arrival.
